$Nd_8Fe_{86-x}Nb_xB_6$ nanocomposite magnet의 자기적 특성에 미치는 Nb 치환 효과 (The effect of Nb addition on magnetic properties of $Nd_8Fe_{86-x}Nb_xB_6$ nanocomposite magnet)

  • 초미세립 복합상 영구자석은 연 경자성상의 크기와 분포에 큰 영향을 받는 자성재료이다. 또한, 결정립간 교환상호작용력은 초미세립 복합상 영구자석의 잔류자속밀도에 큰 영향을 미친다. 이에 $Nd_8Fe_{86-x}Nb_xB_6$(x=0, 1, 2, 3) 조성으로 급냉자성 분말을 제조하고, 열처리 후 자기특성을 평가하였다. Nb 첨가에 따른 $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 상과 $\alpha$-Fe 상과의 교환상호작용력을 Henkel(${\delta}M$) plot을 통해 평가하고, 각 상의 크기와 분포를 조사하여 자기특성 변화를 합리화하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 최대 자기특성은 $B_r$ = 9.791 kG, $_iH_c$ = 5.565 kOe, 그리고 $(BH)_{max}$ = 14.61 MGOe였고, Nb를 첨가함으로서 보자력이 증가하였다.

  • The magnet system of KSTAR(korean Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) is consisted of 16 TF (Toroidal Field) coils and 14 PF (Poroidal Field) coils. Internal cooling CICC(Cable in Conduit Conductor) type conductor is used for both of TF and PF coil systems. The conduit material for $Nb_3Sn$ cable is Incoloy 908 and 316LN stainless-steel was used as conduit material for NbTi cable. $Nb_3Sn$ CICC is used for all TF coils and PF1-5 coils while NbTi CICC is used for PF6 and 7 coils. $Nb_3Sn$ and NbTi strands were made for KSTAR superconducting strand. They are satisfied with KSTAR superconducotr requirements. The $Nb_3Sn$ strands supplied from three companies; MELCO (Mitsubishi Electric Co.), OAS (Outokumpu Advanced Superconductor) and KAT (Kiswire Advanced Technology) were used. A special CICC jacketing system is developed for the KSTAR CICC fabrication which uses the tube-mill process consisted of forming, welding, sizing and squaring procedures. The. procedures for cabling and jacketing of CICC for TF and PF coils and their results including the geometrical specification and characteristics of strands are described.

하소온도변화에 따른 (Na,K)NbO3계 무연 압전세라믹스의 압전 및 유전특성 (Piezoelectric and Dielectric Characteristics of Lead-free (Na,K)NbO3 Piezoelectric Ceramic System according to Calcination Temperature)

  • In this paper, in order to develop lead-free piezoelectric ceramics, $(Li_{0.04}Na_{0.44}K_{0.52)(Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.04})O_3$ ceramics were fabricated with the variation of calcination temperature and sintering temperature. The ceramics couldn't be sintered at temperature less than $1110^{\circ}C$ and showed the highest density at calcination temperature of $800^{\circ}C$. Crystal structure of the ceramics showed pseudo-tetragonal phase. At the calcination temperature of $800^{\circ}C$ and sintering temperature of $1110^{\circ}C$, the optimal values of $density=4.64g/cm^3,\;kp=0.45,\;{\varepsilon}r=1336,\;d_{33}=254pC/N\;and\;Tc=335^{\circ}C$ were obtained.

Au/Nb/WNx(Si)/GaAs Schottky 접합의 열안정성 (Thermal Stability of Au/Nb/WNx(Si)/GaAs Schottky Contacts)

  • Microwave용 GaAs MESFET 소자에 적용가능한 Schottky 접합구조로서 Au/Nb/WNx(Si) 다층박막의 특성을 평가하였다. WNx 증착시 co-sputtering에 의하여 첨가된 실리콘은 열처리 과정 동안 GaAs/Schottky 계면으로 확산되며 이 과정은 sputtering damage의 회복이 활성화되는 $700^{\circ}C$이상에서 활발해진다. 계면으로 축적된 실리콘은 Ga와 As의 유효한 확산 경로를 차단함으로서 Ga의 확산으로 인한 GsAs 내의 carrier 농도 증가를 최소화 할 수 있어서 WNx와 같은 Schottky 접합재료의 열적 안정특성의 향상을 기대할 수 있다. Au/Nb의 층을 적층시 Nb는 탈탈륨 등의 고융점 금속과 같이 sacrificial 형태의 확산방지막으로 작용하여 열적으로 안정하며 microwave용 소자에서 요구되는 낮은 비저항치(-10-5$\Omega$-cm)를 유지할 수 있다.

  • In this study, the structural characteristics and the electrical properties of $Ag(Ta,Nb)O_3$ ceramics were investigated. Compound ceramics were fabricated by the mixed oxide method. The sintering temperature was 1200 $^{\circ}C$. The dielectric properties of $Ag(Ta,Nb)O_3$ ceramics were measured from 1 kHZ to 1 MHz. The electrical properties of $Ag(Ta,Nb)O_3$ ceramics were investigated at the various temperature ranges.

열기계적 처리한 Ti-45.4%Al-4.8%Nb 합금의 고온산화 (High Temperature Oxidation of Thermomechanically Treated Ti-45.4%Al-4.8%Nb Alloys)

  • The thermomechanically treated $Ti-45.4\%Al-4.8\%Nb(at\%)$ alloy was oxidized between 800 and $1000^{\circ}C$ in air, and the oxidation characteristics were studied. The dissolution of Nb in the oxide scale was observed from the TEM study. The Pt marker test revealed that the oxidation process was controlled by the outward diffusion of Ti ions and the inward diffusion of oxygen ions. During oxidation, the evaporation of Nb-oxides was found to occur to a small amount. Niobium tended to pile-up at the lower part of the oxide scale, which consisted primarily of an outer $TiO_2$ layer, and an intermediate $Al_{2}O_{3}-rich$ layer, and an inner mixed layer of ($TiO_{2}+Al_{2}O_{3}$).

  • Na-K-Nb system showed a number of ferroelectric phases in bulk ceramic. [001]-axis oriented single-phase $Na_{0.5}/K_{0.5}NbO_3$(NKN) thin film have been grown on $LaA1O_3$substrates using KrF excimer laser. X-ray diffraction $\theta$-2$\theta$ scan, rocking curves, and $\varphi$ scan data evidence highly c-axis oriented along the [001] direction.

  • Erbium(Er) doped LiNbO3(Er:LiNbO3) single crystal gibers were grown free of cracks along the c-axis by micro-pulling down method. the Er3+ concentration was distributed homogeneously along the growth axis. The samples for optical characterization were cut from as-grown single crystal fibers and polished. When the 980 nm light was incident on the sample, upconversion phenomena were observed at the green range of wavelength 510~570 nm. In addition, the intensity of upconversion was remarkably increased by increasing the concentration of Er2O3 dopant in as-grown Er:LiNbO3 crystals.

Surface Alloy Formation of Nb on Cu(100)

  • We studied Nb growth mode on Cu(100) surface by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) at room temperature. Nb/Cu is immiscible at room temperature and thus is an ideal system for studying surface alloy formation. Initially deposited Nb atoms are incorporated subsurface on Cu(100). After annealing, they are preferentially found at step edges and appear as bright dots surrounded by dark rings. Ordering emerges from step edges as annealed. Ordered ({{{{ SQRT { 5} }$\times${{{{ SQRT { 5} }}}})R 26.6$^{\circ}$phase Nb structure is formed at $\theta$<0.2ML after annealing to 50$0^{\circ}C$. At higher coverage, $\theta$>0.25, annealing leads to p(2$\times$2) phase. due to large mismatch in lattice parameters, the domain is limited to a few tens of nm2. Growth kinetics of the system will be discussed.

생체용 Ti-Zr-Nb-Pd계 합금의 기계적 성질 (Mechanical Properties of Ti-Zr-Nb-Pd Based Alloys for Biomedical Applications)

  • For biomedical applications, Ti-X%Zr-Y%Nb-0.2%Pd(X:10$\sim$20, Y:2$\sim$8) alloys not containing harmful Al and V were newly designed, and the effect of alloy composition and heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. From the results, it was shown that the mechanical properties were enhanced with the addition of Zr or Nb. The effect of heat treating on room temperature strength was investigated by aging treatment after solution treatment. The mechanical properties of Ti-20%Zr-4%Nb-0.2%Pd alloy aged at 400$^{\circ}C$ for 10hrs was found to be superior to those of the pure Ti and Ti-6%Al-4%V ELI alloy.
