가상현실을 이용한 항로표지 숙달 시뮬레이터 구축

  • The paper deals with the design and implementation of Navigational Aids Training Simulator (VR-NATS) by Virtual Reality (VR). To gave interaction and immersible training situation to the user, prototype VR-NATS was developed based on the object-oriented operating system with 3D objects of navigational aids. Using the VR-NATS we created virtual navigational aids. As results from the assessment tests, students can obtain IALA (International Association of Lighthouse Authorities) rules of the navigational aids exactly and quickly comparing with conventional education methods. Thus, we found that he proposed VR-NAT is very effective for the next-generation simulation system.

  • Navigational Aids Facilities help aircraft navigate by using wired communication, wireless communication, satellite, light, color and radio waves. Navigational Aids Facilities are used in all processes of aircraft operation, and if there is a problem with the facility, it may lead to delays in flight operation, cancellation of flights, and major airline accidents, resulting in enormous loss of life and property. In the management and operation of Navigational Aids Facilities, various outcomes will be brought about according to the advancement with the safety culture. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of advancement on safety culture in the operation of Navigational Aids facilities not only on members and customers, but also on benefits to bring to whole society. In this paper, the analysis results are presented using the structural equation model, and the meaning is presented in the conclusion.

  • Marine Casualties cause the loss of hmm lives, properties and marine pollution. The prevention of marine accidents has been a major topic in marine society and various policies and countermeasures have been developed, applied to the industries. The coastal VTS and navigational aids are considered as one of the effective methods to promote marine safety but they need relatively huge amount of budgets to build. Thus prior to establishing these coastal VTS and navigational aids, it should be evaluated the navigational safety level in the coastal waterways in concern. So far as human beings are concerned, there are many types of fuzziness in the evaluation of navigational safety level. In order to reflect these fuzziness on this evaluation, this paper introduces the fuzzy measure and integral to represent the fuzziness in the evaluation process. Therefore this paper aims to develop the method for this evaluation using the fuzzy measure and integral. In this paper, Korean coastal area is divided into 8 sectors and evaluated the priority for the needs of coastal VTS and navigational aids. The results are found as order as Mokpo, Yosu, Pohang, Busan, Inchon, Geoje, Gunsan, Donghae coastal area.

  • The function of navigational aids are to be coincided with the development of navigational equipment and increase of traffics on the sea fairway. Supplementary function or side effect of wharf-edge illumination would be effective to indicate fairway indirectly and collision avoidance between ships and bridge against background light in port area at night also a serious-view light on the bridge posts would be effective to ensure the drifting ships by wind and current force adjacent bridge area.

Effective Navigation Aids in Virtual Environments (가상 환경에서의 효과적인 네비게이션을 위한 도구 분석)

  • This study examines different types of navigation aids when a navigator performs target search tasks in Virtual Environments. The factors manipulated in this study include target information (None/Landmark). navigational difficulty (Easy/Difficult). and map types (None/2D Map/3D Map). Navigation performance was measured by using task completion time and the number of target locations that was remembered by the navigator. In addition, user satisfaction on the navigation aids was also measured by using a 7-point Likert's scale. The results showed that the user satisfaction on the landmark was high when the 3D Map was provided. The task completion time shortened when navigational difficulty was set at "easy." The number of remembered target locations was large when there was no landmark. It was also large with an easy navigation task. or a map (20 or 3D) provided. Guidelines for selecting navigation aids were proposed based on the results.

  • The paper presents the Philippine maritime condition, safety systems and navigational aids. It aims to uplift the maritime safety systems and infrastructures by studying the different strata of the industry, thereby emphasizing on the structures, weaknesses and opportunities. It presents the different maritime agencies involved and each responsibilities. Data from PPA demonstrate the statistics of increase in the cargo throughput, passenger, shipcalls and cargo-container handled in the year 2014. It also highlights the insufficiency of different navigational aids, VTMS, MBS and TSS placed in the whole archipelago. It gathers data of maritime accidents in 10-year period, 2006-2015, showing the most occurred accidents, casualties and areas these accidents happened. It includes the weather phenomena which contribute to the maritime movements and accidents incidence. The results show that systems and infrastructures that focus on the lack of improvement in technology and over-lapping functions of different agencies of government require development and upgrading.
