Navigation of a mobile robot with stationary and moving obstacles using fuzzy-neural network (퍼지-뉴럴을 이용한 이동 로봇의 장애물 충돌 회피)

  • This paper proposes a new fuzzy-neural algorithm for navigation of a mobile robot with stationary and moving obstacles environment. The proposed algorithm uses fuzzy algorithm for its speed control and neuralnetwork for effective collision avoidance. Some computer simulation results for a mobile robot equipped with ultrasonic range sensors show that the suggested navigation algorithm is very effective to escape in stationary and moving obstacles environment.

Ship Manoeuvring Performance Experiments Using a Free Running Model Ship

  • In this paper, a 3m-class free running model ship will be introduced with its manoeuvring performance experiments. The results of turning circle test and zig-zag test will be explained. The developed system are equipped with GPS, main control computer, wireless LAN, IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), self-propulsion propeller and driving rudder. Its motion can be controlled by RC (Radio Control) and wireless LAN from land based center. Automatic navigation is also available by pre-programmed algorithm. The trajectory of navigation can be acquired by GPS and it provides us with important data for ship's motion control experiments. The results of manoeuvring performance experiment have shown that the developed free running model ship can be used to verify the test of turning circle and zig-zag. For next step, other experimental researches such as ship collision avoidance system and automatic berthing can be considered in the future.

  • In this paper, a sensor fusion based robot navigation method for the autonomous control of a miniature human interaction robot is presented. The method of navigation blends the optimality of the Fuzzy Neural Network(FNN) based control algorithm with the capabilities in expressing knowledge and learning of the networked Intelligent Robotic Space(IRS). States of robot and IR space, for examples, the distance between the mobile robot and obstacles and the velocity of mobile robot, are used as the inputs of fuzzy logic controller. The navigation strategy is based on the combination of fuzzy rules tuned for both goal-approach and obstacle-avoidance. To identify the environments, a sensor fusion technique is introduced, where the sensory data of ultrasonic sensors and a vision sensor are fused into the identification process. Preliminary experiment and results are shown to demonstrate the merit of the introduced navigation control algorithm.

  • In the article, an analysis of the factors was carried out, which injected into the efficiency of the function of navigation systems in the minds of unimportance. Carrying out analyzes allowing for the visibility of relevant direct adjustments to the effectiveness of the function Inertial navigation systems in the minds of non-value. The designation of the navigation system was assigned to a complex of navigation systems on ships processing of the vector of navigation parameters, so that they can be victorious in the control systems of the ship's collapse, and the safety of floating is safe.

  • This paper suggests a new image analysis method and indoor navigation control algorithm of mobile robots using a mono vision system. In order to reduce the positional uncertainty which is generated as the robot travels around the workspace, we propose a new visual landmark recognition algorithm with 2-D graph world model which describes the workspace as only a rough plane figure. The suggested algorithm is implemented to our mobile robot and experimented in a real corridor using extended Kalman filter. The validity and performance of the proposed algorithm was verified by showing that the trajectory deviation error was maintained under 0.075m and the position estimation error was sustained under 0.05m in the resultant trajectory of the navigation.

  • We design a homing guidance law based on the proportional navigation for the fast-rolling, single-axis control missiles and analyse the misdistance of the designed guidance system. The guidance law includes a compensation scheme which compensates for the phase-shift between the commanded and achieved acceleration which is peculiar to the fast rolling airframe with single-axis control. In the error analysis of the guidance system, we calculate the misdistance with respect to the target maneuver on the 3-dimensional space via direct simulations. Also, we conduct adjoint simulation on the 2-dimensional plane in case that phase-shift is perfectly compensated. Finally we approximate the linear time-varying dynamics of the missile with autopilot to a linear time-invarient system, and as a result we can find the misdistance as a closed-form.

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic navigation system of ship using multivariable fuzzy control system in dynamic sea environment. The proposed multivariable fuzzy control system consists of two subsystems with three inputs and two outputs. The effectiveness of the proposed multivariable fuzzy control system is shown by simulation results.

  • In the planetary surface exploration , micro-rovers or nano-rovers are very attractive choices for a surface exploration system providing mobility functions and other features required in the surface probe missions at small mass and relatively small cost. This paper surveys and summarizes the requirements for Mars exploration rovers in micro or nano scale and outlines the control concepts for navigation including the obstacle/hazard avoidance and the path planning. In this context, autonomous reaction capabilities are the key elements to control design in conjunction with the remote control schemes to deal with the significant signal propagation delays. Other navigation and control aspects such as the instrument fine positioning and the flip-over of the rovers are also briefly introduced. The current technical limitations of the micro- and nano-rovers are summarized.

  • An autonomous navigation algorithm for marine vehicles is proposed in this paper using fuzzy logic under COLREG guidelines. The VFF (Virtual Force Field) method, which is widely used in the field of mobile robotics, is modified for application to the autonomous navigation of marine vehicles. This Modified Virtual Force Field (MVFF) method can be used in either track-keeping or collision avoidance modes. Moreover, the operator can select a track-keeping pattern mode in the proposed algorithm. The collision avoidance algorithm has the ability to handle static and/or moving obstacles. The fuzzy expert rules are designed deliberately under COLREG guidelines. An extensive simulation study is used to verify the proposed method.

  • This paper presents an improved adaptive neural network autopilot based on our previous study for track-keeping control of ships. The proposed optimal neural network controller can automatically adapt its learning rate and number of iterations. Firstly, the track-keeping control system of ships is described For the track-keeping control task, a way-point based guidance system is applied To improve the track-keeping ability, the off-track distance caused by external disturbances is considered in learning process of neural network controller. The simulations of track-keeping performance are presented under the influence of sea current and wind as well as measurement noise. The toolbox for track-keeping simulation on Mercator chart is also introduced.
