Computer simulation of abnormal atmospheric propagation condition and false echoes of marine radar have always been the difficulties in this field. The author of this paper has already done some constructive work.
Since GPS signals are vulnerable to interference and obstruction, many alternate aiding systems have been proposed to integrate with an inertial navigation system. Among these alternate systems, the vision-aided method has become more attractive due to its benefits in weight, cost and power consumption. This paper proposes a loosely-coupled vision/INS integrated navigation method which can work in GPS-denied environments. The proposed method improves the navigation accuracy by correcting INS navigation and sensor errors using position and attitude outputs of a landmark based vision navigation system. Furthermore, it has advantage to provide redundant navigation output regardless of INS output. Computer simulations and the van tests have been carried out in order to show validity of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed method works well and gives reliable navigation outputs with better performance.

This thesis researches on the application of computer, modern communication, GIS, GPS, AIS and World-Wide-Web in the field of navigation-aids information system, and has realized an integrated system consisted of navigation-aids information GIS platform, navigation-aids monitoring system and navigation-aids information distribution system. This system has strong integration capability, and has realized navigation-aids information distribution based on WEBGIS at the first time. It strongly promotes navigation-aids daily management and maintenance, and this system provides technique guarantee fur ships and marine departments to acquire navigation-aids information in time, by rule and line expediently.

Position information is important to carry out military operations. In general, GPS is used to estimate position. However, GPS is vulnerable to jamming due to the low received signal strength, therefore GPS can be easily jammed. The relative navigation is an auxiliary navigation system defined in JTIDS. When GPS is jammed, the relative navigation requires ground reference units on the ground to operate accurately. If the ground reference unit does not exist, nodes operated by the relative navigation depend on the inertial navigation system to identify their position. However, this positioning scheme based on only INS causes accumulative position error, therefore the nodes cannot identify their position accurately for a long time. In this paper, we propose an alternative to reduce position error generated by depending inertial navigation system. In order to verify that the performance of proposed scheme is better than that of the existing scheme, various simulations are conducted.

Recently, more and more researches aimed at the development of automated and autonomous ships are appearing in the scientific environment. One of the main reason is the need to solve the problems of safe navigation and reducing accidents due to human factor, as well as the ever-increasing problem associated with the lack of qualified maritime personnel. Development of technologies based on application of artificial intelligence also plays important role, after all for realization of autonomous navigation concept and enhancement of ship automatic maneuvering processes, advancement of maneuvering functions and elaboration of specific algorithms on prevention of close quarter situations and dangerous approach of ships will be required. The purpose of this work is the review of preconditions of occurrence of the autonomous ship navigation conception, overview of introduction stages and prospects for ship remote control based on unmanned technologies, analysis of technical and intellectual decisions of autonomous surface ships, main research tendencies. The research revealed that the technology of autonomous ship navigation requires further development and improvement, especially in terms of the data transmission protocols upgrading, sensors of navigation information and automatic control systems modernization, which allows to perform monitoring of equipment with the aim of improving the functions of control over the autonomous surface ship operation.

These days land vehicle navigation system is a subject of great interest. The GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) is the most popular technology for out door positioning. However, The GNSS is incapable of providing high accuracy and reliable positioning. For that reason, we applied Network-RTK in vehicle to improve the accuracy of GNSS performance. In this network-RTK mode, the GNSS error are significantly decreased. In this paper, we explain ntrip client program for network-RTK mode and show the result of experiments in various environments.

This research develops a GPS-based formation-flying testbed (FFTB) for formation navigation and control. The FFTB is a simulator in which spacecraft simulation and modeling software and loop test capabilities are integrated for test and evaluation of spacecraft navigation and formation control technologies. The FFTB is composed of a GPS measurement simulation computer, flight computer, environmental computer for providing true environment data and 3D visualization computer. The testbed can be simulated with one to two spacecraft, thus enabling a variety of navigation and control algorithms to be evaluated. In a formation flying simulation, GPS measurement are generated by a GPS measurement simulator to produce pseudorange, carrier phase measurements, which are collected and exchanged by the flight processors and subsequently processed in a navigation filter to generate relative and/or absolute state estimates. These state estimates are the fed into control algorithm, which are used to generate maneuvers required to maintain the formation. In this manner, the flight processor also serves as a test platform for candidate formation control algorithm. Such maneuvers are fed back through the controller and applied to the modeled truth trajectories to close simulation loop. Currently, The FFTB has a closed-loop capability of simulating a satellite navigation solution using software based GPS measurement, we move forward to improve using SPIRENT GPS RF signal simulator and space-based GPS receiver

This paper suggests a GPS/INS navigation computer architecture that can be applied to small satellites. In order to implement a GPS/INS navigation system on a small satellite, the extreme environment in space such as radiation, micro-gravity, vacuum, etc. must be considered. In addition, a real-time processing ability is required for the GPS/INS navigation system since the formation flying of multiple small satellites is the ultimate goal. The developed navigation electronics utilizes a PowerPC-type MPC860T that has space environment heritage, and a pair of Atmega128s that has been implemented in KAUSAT-2 and has completed the space environment verification tests. The navigation algorithm is designed to work in VxWorks environment, ported in MPC860T.

We introduces a mobile robot that can navigate on a power transmission line arranged in bundled conductors. The designs of the proposed robot are performed for navigation on bundled conductors, and the navigation method for bundled conductors and obstacle avoidance are presented. The robot consists of 13 degrees of freedom (DOF) with a symmetrical structure for the left and right parts, including the four wheel joints. The navigation method is designed using a combination of three motion primitives such as linear motion of counterbalancing box, linear motion of robot arm, and rotational motion of wheel part. To examine the performance of the proposed robot, navigation simulations are conducted using $ADAMS^{TM}$. The robot navigations were simulated on obstacle environments that consisted of two- and four-conductor bundles. Based on the simulation results, the performance of the proposed robot was reviewed through the analysis of the trajectories of end-effectors. We confirmed that the proposed robot was capable of achieving optimal navigation on bundled conductors that included obstacles.

The paper investigates the geometric effect of landmarks to the navigation error in the landmark based 3D vision navigation and introduces the INS/Vision integrated navigation system considering its effect. The integrated system uses the vision navigation results taking into account the dilution of precision for landmark geometry. Also, the integrated system helps the vision navigation to consider it. An indirect filter with feedback structure is designed, in which the position and the attitude errors are measurements of the filter. Performance of the integrated system is evaluated through the computer simulations. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm works well and that better performance can be expected when the error characteristics of vision navigation are considered.
