지형공간정보체계를 이용한 풍력 발전 시설의 입지 분석 (Location Analysis for Wind Power System Using Geo-Spatial Information System)

  • 풍력발전은 자연 상태의 무공해 에너지원이며 신재생에너지 중 가장 경제성이 높은 에너지원이다. 최근 소형 풍력 발전의 개발에 따라 단지나 초고층 건축물에도 풍력 발전 시설 설치가 가능해졌다. 이러한 지역에서의 효율적인 발전을 위해서는 적절한 입지 분석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 부산시를 대상으로 계층적 분석 기법을 이용하여 풍력 발전 시 요구되어지는 요인들의 상대적 가중치를 산정하고 부산시의 풍속과 풍향의 특징을 나타내었고 지형 공간정보체계를 이용하여 강서구, 기장군, 사하구 지역 내에서 녹산동, 철마면, 다대1동으로 후보지를 선정하였다.

Development of Context-Aware Power Management Scheme Using Beacons

  • In this paper, we propose a context-aware power management (CPM) scheme using beacons to reduce the power consumption of personal computers (PCs). In the proposed CPM scheme, the PC, smartphone, control server, and Internet of Things (IoT) device are necessary. PC users first log in the control server using their smartphones and select PCs to turn on. Then, the selected PCs automatically go into three different modes, i.e., sleep, shutdown, and standby power off modes, in order when the PC users leave the PCs without turning off them. Further, we develop a testbed with the proposed CPM scheme using the Arduino with Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and relay modules. Finally, it is shown that the proposed CPM scheme outperforms the conventional scheme in terms of the power consumption.

가스엔진용 유기랭킨사이클의 설계 및 제작 (Design and Construction of a Bottoming Organic Rankine Cycle System for an Natural Gas Engine)

  • 천연가스용으로 개조된 가스엔진에서 방출되는 폐열을 활용하기 위한 유기 랭킨사이클 (Organic Rankine Cycle: ORC) 발전시스템을 설계 및 제작하였다. 이 연구에서는 개조된 가스엔진의 폐열을 실험적으로 분석한 데이터를 바탕으로 구성한 ORC 시스템의 컴포넌트를 설계하고 제작하였다. ORC 시스템에는 2개의 판형 열교환기와 5kW급 팽창기, 다단 펌프가 사용되었으며, 전기 히터를 이용하여 ORC 시스템의 열역학적 성능을 분석하였다. 또한, 실제로 가스엔진과 연동하여 작동 특성을 파악하기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. ORC 시스템에 열량을 공급해주는 2대의 가스엔진을 사용하였다. 열원모사실험 결과, 열원온도 $110^{\circ}C$에서 축동력 5.22kW가 발생, 압력비 7.41, 열효율 9.09%가 계산되어졌으며, 엔진연동실험에서는 고온수 온도 $86^{\circ}C$에서 축동력 2kW가 발생, 이 때의 압력비는 3.75, 열효율 6.45%가 계산되었다.

바이오가스 정제 및 고질화 기술 현황 및 전망 (The Present and the Future of Biogas Purification and Upgrading Technologies)

  • Anaerobic digestion(AD) has successfully been used for many applications that have conclusively demonstrated its ability to recycle biogenic wastes. AD has been successfully applied in industrial waste water treatment, stabilsation of sewage sludge, landfill management and recycling of biowaste and agricultural wastes as manure, energy crops. During AD, i.e. organic materials are decomposed by anaerobic forming bacteria and fina1ly converted to excellent fertilizer and biogas which is primarily composed of methane(CH4) and carbon dioxide(CO2) with smaller amounts of hydrogen sulfide(H2S) and ammonia(NH3), trace gases such as hydrogen(H2), nitrogen(N2), carbon monoxide(CO), oxygen(O2) and contain dust particles and siloxanes. The production and utilisation of biogas has several environmental advantages such as i)a renewable energy source, ii)reduction the release of methane to the atomsphere, iii)use as a substitute for fossil fuels. In utilisation of biogas, most of biogas produced from small scale plant e.g. farm-scale AD plant are used to provide as energy source for cooking and lighting, in most of the industrialised countries for energy recovery, environmental and safety reasons are used in combined heat and power(CHP) engines or as a supplement to natural. In particular, biogas to use as vehicle fuel or for grid injection there different biogas treatment steps are necessary, it is important to have a high energy content in biogas with biogas purification and upgrading. The energy content of biogas is in direct proportion to the methane content and by removing trace gases and carbon dioxide in the purification and upgrading process the energy content of biogas in increased. The process of purification and upgrading biogas generates new possibilities for its use since it can then replace natural gas, which is used extensively in many countries, However, those technologies add to the costs of biogas production. It is important to have an optimized purification and upgrading process in terms of low energy consumption and high efficiency giving high methane content in the upgraded gas. A number of technologies for purification and upgrading of biogas have been developed to use as a vehicle fuel or grid injection during the passed twenty years, and several technologies exist today and they are continually being improved. The biomethane which is produced from the purification and the upgrading process of biogas has gained increased attention due to rising oil and natural gas prices and increasing targets for renewable fuel quotes in many countries. New plants are continually being built and the number of biomethane plants was around 100 in 2009.

남해-통영 주변 도서지역에서 에너지자원 조사를 위한 풍력과 일사량의 측정 (Measurement of Wind and Solar Radiation for Energy Resources Survey on Islands around Namhae-Tongyoung, Korea)

  • 도서지역에 대한 에너지공급시스템의 다양화를 위해서는 지역 내에 풍부한 자연에너지 활용이 필요하고 이를 통해 도서주민의 생활환경 개선이 가능하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 지역에 특화된 자연에너지를 이용한 전력공급시스템을 제안하기 위한 기초자료 구축을 목적으로 통영-남해 해역에 위치한 4개 섬의 풍력과 일사량을 1년간 (2010년 11월~2011년 10월) 실측하여 발생 특성을 파악하고 활용가능성을 비교 평가하였다. 본 연구의 성과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 풍향별 발생 빈도수를 이용하여 작성한 바람장미로 부터 4개 섬의 풍향 특성이 크게 다르다는 것을 알았다. Rayleigh 속도확률분포를 이용한 평가에 따르면 KR섬과 SS섬은 2~5m/s의 바람이 많이 불지만, SR섬과 YJ섬은 2m/s이하의 저속 바람의 발생 확률이 매우 높은 것으로 분석되었고, 4개 섬 각각의 풍력발전량에는 큰 차이가 있었다. 4개 섬 모두에서 최대 일일 일사량은 2011년 7월에 발생하였지만, 평균 일일 일사량은 2011년 4월이 가장 컸다. 또한 월별 누적 일사량의 경우 2011년 4월이 가장 많았고, 2010년 12월 가장 적었다.

  • Urban air quality, including carbon-dioxide emissions, and national energy security are related issues affecting the rail industry and transportation sector as a whole. They are related by the fact that (in the United States) 97-98% of the energy for the transport sector is based on oil, and more than 60% is imported. A fuelcell locomotive combines the environmental advantages of a catenary-electric locomotive with the higher overall energy efficiency and lower infrastructure costs of a diesel-electric. Catenaryelectric locomotives, when viewed as only one component of a distributed machine that includes an electricity-generating plant and transmission lines, are the least energy-efficient locomotive type. The natural fuel for a fuelcell is hydrogen, which can be produced from many renewable energies and nuclear energy, and thus a hydrogen-fuelcell locomotive will not depend on imported oil for its energy supply. This paper proposes a base models of Hybrid fuel cell/IPT railway vehicle power system, the necessary of this research.

양방향수전해 기반 수소제조용 초고온스팀 생산시스템의 엑서지 분석 (Exergy Analysis on the System of Superheated Steam (700℃, 3 atm) Production for the Reversible Electrolysis: Based Hydrogen Production)

  • Hydrogen can be produced by reforming reaction of natural gas (NG) and biogas, or by water electrolysis. In this study, hydrogen production through water-electrolysis needs superheated steam above $700^{\circ}C$ for high efficiency. The production method of hydrogen like this was recommended for the 4-type processes for superheated steam ($700^{\circ}C$, 3 atm) by Bio-SRF combustion furnace. The 4-type processes to produce superheated steam at $700^{\circ}C$ from the heat source of SRF combustion furnace was simulated using PRO II. The optimum process was selected through exergy analysis. The difference of process 1 and 2 is to the order of depressure and heating process to change $180^{\circ}C$ and 7 atm to $700^{\circ}C$ and 3 atm. Process 3 and 4 is to utilize 25% of steam to generate superheated steam and remaining to use for the power generation by steam generator.

Design of 1 MVA Single Phase HTS Transformer with Pancake Windings Cooled by Natural Convection of Sub-cooled Liquid Nitrogen

  • A 1 MVA single-phase high temperature superconducting (HTS) transformer with BSCCO-2223 wire was designed in this paper. The rated voltages of each sides of the transformer are 22.9 kV and 6.6 kV respectively. Double pancake HTS windings arranged reciprocally will be used for the transformer windings, because of the advantages of insulation and distribution of surge voltage in case of a large power and high voltage transformer. Single HTS wire was used for the primary windings and four parallel wires were used for the secondary windings of the transformer with transposition. A core of the transformer was designed as a shell type core separated with the windings by a cryostat made of GFRP with a room temperature bore. The operating temperature of the HTS windings will be about 65K with sub-cooled liquid nitrogen. A cryogenic cooling system using a GM-cryocooler for this HTS transformer by natural convection of liquid nitrogen was designed. This type of cooling system can be a good option for compactness, efficiency, and reliability of the HTS transformer.

THERMALHYDRAULIC EVALUATIONS FOR A CANFLEX BUNDLE WITH NATURAL OR RECYCLED URANIUM FUEL IN THE UNCREPT AND CREPT CHANNELS OF A CANDU-6 REACTOR

  • The thermalhydraulic performance of a CANDU-6 reactor loaded with various CANFLEX fuel bundles is evaluated by the NUCIRC code, which is incorporated with recent models of pressure drop and critical heat flux (CHF) predictions based on high-pressure steam-water tests for the CANFLEX bundle as well as a 37-element bundle. The distributions of channel flow rate, channel exit quality, critical channel power (CCP), and critical power ratio (CPR) for the CANFLEX bundles (with natural or recycled uranium fuel) in the CANDU-6 reactor fuel channel are calculated by the code. The effects of axial and radial heat flux on CCP are evaluated by assuming that the recycled uranium fuel (CANFLEX-RU) has the same geometric data as the natural uranium fuel bundle (CANFLEX-NU), but a different power distribution due to different fuel composition and refueling scheme. In addition, the effects of pressure tube creep and bearing-pad height are examined by comparing various results of uncrept, and $3.3\%\;and\;5.1\%$ crept channels loaded with CANFLEX bundles with 1.4 mm or 1.7 mm high bearing-pads with those of the 37-element bundle. The distributions of the channel flow rate and CCP for the CANFLEX-NU or -RU bundle show a typical trend for a CANDU-6 reactor channel, and the CPRs are maintained above at least 1.444 (NU) or 1.455 (RU) in the uncrept channel. The enhanced CHF of the CANFLEX bundle (particularly with 1.7mm height bearing-pads) produces a higher thermal margin and considerably less sensitivity to CCP reduction due to the pressure tube creep than the 37-element bundle. The CCP enhancement due to the raised bearing-pads is estimated to be about $3\%\~5\%$ for the CANFLEX-NU and $2\%\~6\%$ for the CANFLEX-RU bundle, respectively.

액화천연가스운반선의 PMS 성능 검증을 위한 FPGA 기반 HIL 시뮬레이터 개발 (Development of FPGA Based HIL Simulator for PMS Performance Verification of Natural Liquefied Gas Carriers)

  • HIL 시뮬레이션은 복잡한 실시간 임베디드 시스템을 개발하고 테스트하는 데 사용되는 기법이다. HIL 테스트는 해양플랜트와 같은 고부가가치 선박인 LNGC의 PMS 성능 검증을 위한 효율적인 플랫폼이 된다. 그러나 국내 조선소를 비롯한 연구기관에서 스스로 HIL 테스트를 수행하기에는 시간이 필요하다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해, 본 연구는 전력 공급 장치 / 소비 장치, 제어콘솔, MSBD 로 구성된 FPGA 기반의 PMS-HIL 시뮬레이터를 제안한다. 제안된 HIL시뮬레이션 플랫폼은 실제 장비 데이터를 사용하였고, PMS의 부하 공유 테스트를 수행하였다. 제안된 시스템은 대칭, 비대칭 및 고정 부하분배를 통해 검증하였고 공장수락시험 대체 가능성을 보여 준다. 또한 향후 에너지관리시스템 개발을 비롯한 선박 자동화 및 자율운항을 위한 추가 시스템 개발 시 많은 도움을 줄 것으로 사료된다.
