자연사박물관의 이용행태를 고려한 체험형 전시연출방법에 관한 연구 (The Study of Experiential Exhibition for Considering of Natural history Museum Visitor's behavior)

  • The purpose of this research is to improve exhibition effectiveness by implementing hands-on exhibition technique that best provides adults with cultural resting place and children with outdoor education which simply supports school curriculum. By completing this research, the museum of natural history will become defined innovatively as a place that enables people actively develop creativity. Seodaemun museum of natural history was selected for this research and itinerary tracking method of Robinson and Melton was adopted to find out adults' and children's particular movements in the museum. At the same time, observation method was used to get information on each room's visiting and viewing rate. In order to understand adults' and children's movements, their behavior was encoded.

전방십자인대 손상 슬관절의 자연적 병의 경과 (The Natural History of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Deficient Knee)

  • The natural history of the anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)-deficient knee remains controversial. although numerous investigation have tried to ascertain the course that the knee would follow once the ACL has lost functional integrity. An extensive review of the literature performed according to symptoms. physical examinations, associated surrounding tissue injuries. returns to activity level and radiological changes in the knee joint. An active individual with a non-functioning ACL was susceptible to injury to the menisci and deteriorate the articular cartilage, followed radiographic changes. An activity levels in general also changed after injury. The most common symptom was pain. But instability varied in these individuals. Conclusively we believe that all these factors will eventually, if not initially, result in a symptomatic knee. which will result in significant limitations to the individual's desired level. So we recommend an aggressive approach in person who desired to return to a relatively active life style in young person as well as in middle aged individuals who have significant symptomatic ACL deficient knee.

Science Educational Interpretation of Exhibit Characteristics

  • The purpose of this study was to explore characteristics of natural history museum exhibits from the viewpoint of science education. A total of ninety exhibits for this study were examined in national science museums of Korea and Japan. Exhibits of Tokyo national science museum were again divided into two groups: the old and traditional types, and the new and renovated ones. Even though analyzing data was not undertaken through quantitative statistical process, the interpretation of the data was valid enough to fulfill the purpose of the research. While there were clear changes and differences between the old and the new types of exhibits in Tokyo national science museum, the old part of Tokyo museum was similar to one in Korea. Based on analyzing the new types of Tokyo museum, the current movement in the field of natural history museums of Korea explicitly has toward utilizing more science education concepts and ideas.

Understanding Visitor Learning in a Natural History Museum : A Case of Dyadic Discourses

  • This study explores visitor learning in a natural history museum from the perspectives of situated learning. The purpose of this study is to understand how the visitors construct knowledge from museum experiences through dyadic discourses. The participants were two university students. They moved naturally through the exhibition with no predetermined path in a natural history museum in Korea. Data were collected in the form of audio-recorded dyadic discourses at and between exhibits and were transcribed. The transcription was coded using the conversation coding scheme, and categorized into specific learning types. The findings included (1) the characteristics of learning talks and (2) learning types created by dyadic discourses at and between exhibitions within learning contexts as museum learning experiences. Implications and future research related to visitor learning in informal learning settings were discussed based on the findings.

Analysis of dynamic behavior for truss cable structures

  • Natural vibration of truss cable structures is analyzed based upon the general structural analysis software ANSYS, energy variational method and Rayleigh method, the calculated results of three methods are compared, from which the characteristics of free-vibration are obtained. Moreover, vertical seismic response analysis of truss cable structures is carried out via time-history method. Introducing three natural earthquake waves calculated the results including time-history curve of vertical maximal displacement, time-history curve of maximal internal force. Variation curve of maximal displacement of node along span, and variation curve of maximal internal force of member along span are presented. The results show the formulas of frequencies for truss cable structures obtained by energy variational method are of high accuracy. Furthermore, the maximal displacement and the maximal internal force occur near the 1/5 span point. These provide convenient and simple design method for practical engineering.

회전력을 받는 플라이휠의 구조해석에 관한 연구 (Study on Structural Analysis of Flywheel under Rotary Power)

  • This study analyzes flywheel through the analyses of stress, fatigue and vibration. Maximum equivalent stress is 15.271MPa at the mid round shape and maximum deformation is 0.02264mm at the outer teeth. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of -$10^4$MPa and the amplitude stress of 1000 to 2900MPa, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 30%. This stress state can be 20 times greater than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The range of natural frequencies becomes 200 to 820Hz and the values of these deformations are not more than 10mm. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the design of flywheel by investigating prevention and durability against its damage.

세계 주요 자연사 박물관의 교육 프로그램의 유형 및 특징 (The Types and Characteristics of Educational Programs in Major Natural History Museums of the World)

  • 본 연구에서는 선진국의 주요 자연사 박물관에서 제공하는 교육 프로그램의 유형 및 특징을 살펴보았다. 미국(AMNH, FM, SM), 영국(NHM), 호주(AU), 캐나다(RTM)의 자연사 박물관의 웹사이트에 소개되어 있는 교육 프로그램, 박물관 간행 책자, 홍보자료, 연간 보고서를 수집하여 분석에 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 자연사 박물관의 교육 프로그램을 크게 열 가지 유형-이동식 박물관, 워크삽, 강좌/강연, 페스티발/(특별)이벤트, 탐구활동, 과학적 활동/연구 프로젝트, 필드트립, 청소년 학예원/인턴 과정, 대여 자료, 캠프/투어-로 나누고, 각 유형에 따른 프로그램의 예를 제시하였다. 또한 개별 프로그램을 교육적 측면에서 볼 수 있는 몇 가지 특징인 주제, 참여 수준, 전시와의 연관성, 학교교육과의 연계, 활동 수준에 관하여 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 세 가지 측면에서 과학교사, 박물관 교육담당자 및 학예원에게 도움이 될 것으로 보인다: (1) 교육 프로그램 유형과 내용을 개발하고 실행하는데 유용하며, (2) 교육 프로그램을 평가하고 개선하는 지침으로 이용될 수 있고, (3) 일반 대중에게 다양한 과학적 측면과 소장품을 소개하거나 학교 교육과정과 연관한 과학 교수 학습에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있다.

자연사박물관 연구 지원 실태에 대한 국제 비교 연구 (An International Comparative Study of the Research Support Reality of Natural History Museums)

  • 이 연구는 세계적인 자연사박물관의 예 결산 내역을 기능 항목 기준에 맞추어 정리한 후, 통합 연구 기능과 일반 행정 기능에 대하여 비교 분석하여 장차 한국에 세워질 국립자연사박물관의 예산배정에 대한 기준을 제시하는데 목적을 둔다. 기초 자료를 구축하기 위하여 세계적인 국립자연사박물관인 미국 국립자연사박물관, 뉴욕 아메리카자연사박물관, 영국 런던자연사박물관, 프랑스 국립자연사박물관, 일본 국립자연과학박물관의 연차보고서, 예산요청서, 재무제표, 회계장부의 예산 사용과 관련된 모든 자료를 수집하였다. 각 자연사박물관의 통합 연구 기능과 일반 행정 기능에 관련된 예 결산 세부 내역을 미국 국립자연사박물관의 예 결산 자료 기준에 맞추어 재분류하였다. 자연사박물관별로 재분류한 세부 항목에 해당하는 예 결산 내역을 정리한 후, 각 자연사박물관의 통합 연구 기능과 일반 행정 기능의 금액에 대하여 국제비교를 실시하였다. 그 결과 연구, 교육, 전시, 출판 기능이 가장 활성화 되었다고 평가받는 미국과 영국 자연사박물관의 통합 연구 기능과 일반 행정 기능의 예산 지출 비율이 평균 약 6:4로 분석되었다. 이것은 자연사박물관의 기능이 극대화되기 위해서는 통합 연구 영역 지원 비율이 높아야 된다는 것을 의미한다.

Taxonomy of the Family Antedonidae(Echinodermata, Crinoidea, Comatulida) in Korea

  • A taxonomic study of the family Antedonidae is presented. The specimens were collected in the coastal seas of Korea from 1970 to 1994 and deposited in the Natural History Museum of Ewha Womans University. Four species, Heliometra glacialis maxima, Antedon serrata, Antedon parviflora and Andrometra psyche of the subfamilies Heliometrinae and Antedoninae were identified, of which 3 species, Antedon serrata, Antedon parviflora and Andrometra psyche in the subfamily Antedoninae are new to Korea. The subfamily Antedoninae is reported for the first time in Korea.
