The cosmetic and toiletries are necessary health care & household for common life. However we need antiseptic which is effecting harmlessly to the human body. There are propolis, Lavender, Lemon, essential oil in the natural antiseptic materials. This work proceeded design Natural-antiseptic system with three materials as above-mentioned. Natural-antiseptic system was accomplished with propolis (2%), Lavender essential oil (0.3%), Lemon essential oil (0.3%) safety out of Polysorbate 20 (0.5%), Polysorbate 80 (0.5%), PEG (60) hydrogenated castor oil (0.45%), ethanol (5%). The antimicrobial test was experimented on E. coli and Bacillus stearothermophilus. In this antimicrobial test, we found that the effect of antisepsis against E. coli and Bacillus stearothermophilus with propolis 0.3%, Lavender essential oil 0.045% and Lemon essential oil 0.045% was improved. Therefore could expect Natural-antiseptic system product for moisturizing skin toner for face, nourishing essence and wet tissue for clean other things.
Essential oil from herb is known to exert pharmacological effects on the human body. In this study we investigated the antibacterial activity of 4 essential oils (teetree, rosemary, melisa, and lavender), as well as the blended mixture oil of teetree, rosemary, and melisa (TRM) on three bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Antibacterial analysis was performed using the standard disk diffusion method, and minimum inhibition concentration was determined by the broth microdilution method with different concentrations of essential oils (0.5, 1, 2 and 3 mg/mL). After incubation at $37^{\circ}C$ for 24 h, the antibacterial activity was assessed by measuring the zone of growth inhibition surrounding the disks. Herb oil with the inhibition zones showed varied values ranging from6 to 25 mm. However, the components of herb oil of TRM are as highly active as the teetree oil against pathogens, generating large inhibition zones for both gram negative and positive bacteria (13~22 mm and 8 mm inhibition zones). In the analysis for MIC, TRM showed growth-inhibitory effects at 0.0625% for S. aureus and E. coli, and 1.25% for P. aeruginosa. This result demonstrated that the anti-microbial activity of TRM was greater than a single herb oil, including oxacillin, rosemary, and teetrea. As a single herb oil, both rosemary and teetrea also had an anti-microbial effect by itself, and we can expect that the blended oil mixture may exert a synergistic effect against multidrug resistant bacteria, suggesting its future application in natural preservative agents for health food and cosmetics.
The resistance inhibitory activities of 54 odorant mixtures (essential oil) from 41 Korean aromatic herbs were tested against multi-drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus SA2, which has resistances to 10 usual antibiotics including chloramphenicol. As results, combinations of 28 kinds of samples from 21 herbs and chloramphenicol have resistance inhibitory activities in dose dependent manner.

We have previously reported that Acer tegmentosum extract, which is traditionally used in Korea to reduce alcohol-related liver injury, suppresses liver inflammation caused by excessive alcohol consumption and might improve metabolism. The active ingredient, 6-O-galloylsalidroside (GAL), was isolated from A. tegmentosum, and we hypothesized that GAL could provide desirable pharmacological benefits by ameliorating physiological conditions caused by alcohol abuse. Therefore, this study focused on whether GAL could ameliorate alcoholic fat accumulation and repair liver injury in mice. During chronic alcohol consumption plus binge feeding in mice, GAL was administered orally once per day for 11 days. Intrahepatic lipid accumulation was measured in vivo using a noninvasive method, 1H magnetic resonance imaging, and confirmed by staining with hematoxylin and eosin and Oil Red O. The serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) were measured using a Konelab system, and the triglyceride content was measured in liver homogenates using an enzymatic peroxide assay. The results suggested that GAL alleviated alcohol-induced steatosis,e as indicated by decreased hepatic and serum triglyceride levels in ethanol-fed mice. GAL treatment also correlated with a decrease in the Cd36 mRNA expression, thus potentially inhibiting the development of alcoholic steatosis via the hepatic de novo lipogenesis pathway. Furthermore, treatment with GAL inhibited the expression of cytochrome P450 2E1 and attenuated hepatocellular damage, as reflected by a reduction in ALT and AST levels. These findings suggest that GAL extracted from A. tegmentosum has the potential to serve as a bioactive agent for the treatment of alcoholic fatty liver and liver damage.

The natural ingredient has been utilized variety of the food and medicine. The aromatherapy well known prevent disease and healthy promotion using the essential oil derived extracted plants. In this work, natural ingredient include herb granulated for application of tobacco filter. That used by granulation using fluidized bed granulator(top-spray, bottom-spray and tangential-spray) and wet granule method. According to ingredient can used granulating method selectivity. So, we used fluid-bed granulator and wet granule method. Grapefruit extract coated sugar particle using the bottom-spray method and red ginseng granule granulated red ginseng powder using the tangential-spray method in a fluidized bed. Then, these granules applied the tobacco filter after due consideration add amount and operation efficiency. As a result, wet granule was loaded dual filter because that similarity carbon granule. And it was fitted in added 3mg/mm, per tip in the tobacco end part. Another type, fuidized bed granules was filled cavity filter because it has high hardness, sphere shape.

To develop natural antioxidant from spices and control thermal oxidation of edible soybean oil, the available antioxidative compounds of various spices were extracted with edible soybean oil. The storage stability of the oil mixed with purified sardine oil and soybean oil containing that extracts at $37^{\circ}C$ were investigated. Furthermore the antioxidative activity of petroleum ether soluble fractions(PESF) obtained from rosemary on the thermal oxidation of edible soybean oil during heating at $180^{\circ}C$ were also investigated. By mixing with refined sardine oil and soybean oil extracts of rosemary, sage of herb spices and mace of seed spices, the oxidative stabilities were remarkably increased. The thermal oxidation of edible soybean oil was also supressed by the addition of 1.0%(w/w) of PESF obtained from rosemary. Rosemary extract exhibited higher antioxidative activity on thermal oxidation of edible soybean oil than butylated hydroxytoluene.

This research was aimed at evaluating the effects of natural antioxidants on lipid oxidation and sensory quality in cooked, chill- stored and reheated Wanjajun prepared with pork meat (short shank). Sage (SA) and combinations of herbs; basil/mints (BM), rosemary/parsley/thyme (RPT) were used as sources of antioxidants. The products were pan-fried in a medium layer of soybean oil and then stored in a refrigerator at 3$^{\circ}C$ for 8 days after rapid chilling. The process of heat treatment of Wanjajun caused changes in the chemical composition of products and simultaneously, thermal oxidative reaction was initiated. During storage of products in a refrigerator, further hydrolytic and oxidative processes in the lipid extraction were progressed. Acid value was increased, peroxides and malonaldehyde formation gradually were increased during cool storage. Addition of garlic, sage and combinations of herbs retarded the process of oxidation. Wanjajun made with addition of SA and RPT showed good quality in antioxidative potential after 8 days of storage. The sensory effect of herbs on undesirable warmed-over flavor was in order of : SA>RPT>BM.
Objectives : Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica (H.Hara) is a member of the genus Thymus of perennial aromatic herb, and it's designated as a natural monument of South Korea. It has traditionally been known to have protective or therapeutic effects on various human disease including cerebrovascular and neurological disease. Recently it was suggested that essential oil extracted from thyme has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial effect. The aim of this study is to investigate anti-inflammatory effect of Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica in Raw 264.7 macrophage cell line. Methods : The cytotoxic effects of water and 70% ethanol extracts from Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica, was tested using MTT assay. Inhibitory effects of the extracts to nitric oxide production and mRNA expression of inflammatory cytokines were examined by RT-PCR. Also, MitoSOX-red assay and JC-1 assay were performed to determine if the extracts can inhibit mitochondrial ROS accumulation and maintain mitochondrial membrane potential. Results : In LPS-induced inflammatory response, the extracts efficiently reduced nitric oxide NO production through inhibiting mRNA expression of iNOS enzyme. In addition, expression of the proinflammatory cytokines, IL-1𝛽 and IL-6, was also down-regulated by the extract treatments. Excessive accumulation of mitochondrial ROS induced by LPS was inhibited in the extract treated cells, which finally protected mitochondrial membrane potential. Conclusions : These results showed that water and 70% ethanol extracts from Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica have anti-inflammatory effect through down regulation of IL-1𝛽, IL-6, and iNOS, and also have antioxidative effect against mitochondrial ROS accumulation that promote inflammatory response.
