프로폴리스와 허브에센셜오일을 이용한 천연방부제형의 특성 (Characterization of Natural Antiseptic System Utilized Propolis and Herb Essential Oil)

  • The cosmetic and toiletries are necessary health care & household for common life. However we need antiseptic which is effecting harmlessly to the human body. There are propolis, Lavender, Lemon, essential oil in the natural antiseptic materials. This work proceeded design Natural-antiseptic system with three materials as above-mentioned. Natural-antiseptic system was accomplished with propolis (2%), Lavender essential oil (0.3%), Lemon essential oil (0.3%) safety out of Polysorbate 20 (0.5%), Polysorbate 80 (0.5%), PEG (60) hydrogenated castor oil (0.45%), ethanol (5%). The antimicrobial test was experimented on E. coli and Bacillus stearothermophilus. In this antimicrobial test, we found that the effect of antisepsis against E. coli and Bacillus stearothermophilus with propolis 0.3%, Lavender essential oil 0.045% and Lemon essential oil 0.045% was improved. Therefore could expect Natural-antiseptic system product for moisturizing skin toner for face, nourishing essence and wet tissue for clean other things.

블렌딩 에센션오일의 항균효과 증진 (Improved Antibacterial Effect of Blending Essential Oils)

  • 식물로부터 유래되는 휘발성 유기 화합물인 에센셜 오일은 인체에 약리효과를 나타낸다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 화농성 질환과 병독성 질환 비뇨기계통 감염에 나올 수 있는 병원성 세균 Staphylococcus aureus (그람양성알균), Escherichia coli (그람음성막대균), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (그람음성막대균, 극성단모균)을 대상으로 천연 허브 오일 중에 비교적 많이 알려져 있는 라벤더(lavender), 티트리(tea tree), 로즈마리(rosemary), 멜리사(melisa) 4종류의 단일 오일과 비교해, 티트리와 로즈마리, 멜리사를 블렌딩하였을 때 항균력이 상승되는 효과가 있는지 연구하였다. 그 결과 디스크 확산법에서 블렌딩 오일(티트리, 로즈마리, 멜리사)의 경우 단독의 허브오일보다 S. aureus에서18 mm, E. coli 에서 22 mm 와 P. aeruginosa는13 mm의 우수한 항균능력을 확인할 수 있었다. 뿐만 아니라 블렌딩 오일의 경우 최소억제농도(Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations, MIC) 분석에서 S. aureus, E. coli 에서는 0.3125%에서, P. aeruginosa는 1.25%에서 성장억제효과가 확인되었다. 따라서 본 실험에서는 블렌딩 오일이 Oxacillin과 로즈마리, 티트리보다 항균효과가 우수한 것으로 증명되어 단독의 허브오일보다 블렌딩 오일이 우수한 항균력을 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러므로 허브의 블렌딩을 활용하면 다제 내성균에 대한 항균시너지효과를 발휘할 수 있음을 입증했을 뿐만 아니라 향후 천연보존제와 건강기능성 식품 및 화장품에 활용 가능성을 기대해본다.

  • The resistance inhibitory activities of 54 odorant mixtures (essential oil) from 41 Korean aromatic herbs were tested against multi-drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus SA2, which has resistances to 10 usual antibiotics including chloramphenicol. As results, combinations of 28 kinds of samples from 21 herbs and chloramphenicol have resistance inhibitory activities in dose dependent manner.

BM-solution에 노출된 Rat의 안전성에 관한 조사 (A Safety Experiment in Rats Exposed to BM-solution)

  • This study was experiment on the safety of rat(Sprague-Dawley) exposed to natural herb oil(BM-solution). BM-solution was administered by inhalation to rats with the dose level of low(30 mg/8 min), middle(30 mg/4 min) and high(50 mg/4 min) in an airtight room for 4 weeks, respectively. Each groups, consisting of 5 rats, was examined for body weight changes, hematological analysis, serum biochemical analysis, organ weight, and histopathological findings, respectively. There were, dose-dependently, no changes of body weight and organ weights, no hematological anomalousness, and no other serum biochemical abnormality from the experiments. In addition, BM-solution was shown to have no specific toxicity by gross and histopathological findings. Therefore, it was concluded that BM-solution had no side effects on rats for 4 weeks.

6-O-Galloylsalidroside, an Active Ingredient from Acer tegmentosum, Ameliorates Alcoholic Steatosis and Liver Injury in a Mouse Model of Chronic Ethanol Consumption

  • We have previously reported that Acer tegmentosum extract, which is traditionally used in Korea to reduce alcohol-related liver injury, suppresses liver inflammation caused by excessive alcohol consumption and might improve metabolism. The active ingredient, 6-O-galloylsalidroside (GAL), was isolated from A. tegmentosum, and we hypothesized that GAL could provide desirable pharmacological benefits by ameliorating physiological conditions caused by alcohol abuse. Therefore, this study focused on whether GAL could ameliorate alcoholic fat accumulation and repair liver injury in mice. During chronic alcohol consumption plus binge feeding in mice, GAL was administered orally once per day for 11 days. Intrahepatic lipid accumulation was measured in vivo using a noninvasive method, 1H magnetic resonance imaging, and confirmed by staining with hematoxylin and eosin and Oil Red O. The serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) were measured using a Konelab system, and the triglyceride content was measured in liver homogenates using an enzymatic peroxide assay. The results suggested that GAL alleviated alcohol-induced steatosis,e as indicated by decreased hepatic and serum triglyceride levels in ethanol-fed mice. GAL treatment also correlated with a decrease in the Cd36 mRNA expression, thus potentially inhibiting the development of alcoholic steatosis via the hepatic de novo lipogenesis pathway. Furthermore, treatment with GAL inhibited the expression of cytochrome P450 2E1 and attenuated hepatocellular damage, as reflected by a reduction in ALT and AST levels. These findings suggest that GAL extracted from A. tegmentosum has the potential to serve as a bioactive agent for the treatment of alcoholic fatty liver and liver damage.

천연소재 담배 필터 적용 방법 (The Natural Ingredient Application Method of Cigarette Filter)

  • The natural ingredient has been utilized variety of the food and medicine. The aromatherapy well known prevent disease and healthy promotion using the essential oil derived extracted plants. In this work, natural ingredient include herb granulated for application of tobacco filter. That used by granulation using fluidized bed granulator(top-spray, bottom-spray and tangential-spray) and wet granule method. According to ingredient can used granulating method selectivity. So, we used fluid-bed granulator and wet granule method. Grapefruit extract coated sugar particle using the bottom-spray method and red ginseng granule granulated red ginseng powder using the tangential-spray method in a fluidized bed. Then, these granules applied the tobacco filter after due consideration add amount and operation efficiency. As a result, wet granule was loaded dual filter because that similarity carbon granule. And it was fitted in added 3mg/mm, per tip in the tobacco end part. Another type, fuidized bed granules was filled cavity filter because it has high hardness, sphere shape.

식용대두유에 대한 향신료 추출물의 항산화작용 (The Antioxidative Activities of Spices Extracts on Edible Soybean Oil)

  • 천연항산화제의 개발과 식용대두유의 가열산화 억제책을 마련하고자 각종 천연 향신료에 대해 식용대두유 가용성물질을 추출하고 그 추출물을 함유한 대두유와 정제 정어리유의 혼합유를 조제하여 그 저장 안정성을 살펴보았으며 이때 항산화 효과가 우수하게 나타난 rosemary의, 항산화 유효성분을 석유에테르로 추출하여 식용대두유의 가열산화에 대한 항산화 효과를 조사하였다. 그 결과 식용대두유 추출물과 정제정어리유의 혼합하였을 시 저장 안정성은 향초계 향신료 중의 rosemary 와 sage, 종자계 향신료인 mace에서 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 rosemary의 석유에테르 가용성획분은 식용대두유의 가열산화에 대하여 항산화 효과가 강한 것으로 나타났으녀, 또한 합성항산화제인 BHT와 비교해 볼때 그 효과가 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

  • The microbiodeterioration of paper material like books, archival material, manuscripts both illustrated and written, decorative wall papers, etc. is a serious problem throughout the world in museums, libraries, archives, etc. where these materials are placed. The major ecological fungi from record materials of library with ancient achieves were isolated and identified as Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus oryzae, Neurospora sitophile. Mucor mucedo, Mucor rouxii, Penicillium notatum, Rhizopus delema, Rhizopus nigracans, Thanmnidium elegans, Tricodema viridae, Bacillus cereus. Bacillus megaterium, Enterrobacter aerogenes, and Staphylococcus auerus. This study was carried out to investigate the antigungal activities of essential oils. The Essential oils from herb were obtained by vapor distillation method, and the antimicrobial activities were examined with ten fungi & four bacteria. It was found to have activity against microorganisms isolated from a achieves stack rooms.

Cook/Chill System에서의 고기완자 제조에 관한 연구 1. Herb를 이용한 고기완자의 제조 및 품질특성 (A Study on Preparation of Wanjajun for Cook/Chill System 1. Preparation of Wanjajun with Herb and Quality Characteristics)

  • 단체급식에서의 cook/chill system을 위한 완자를 제조하되, 제조와 저장중에 일어 나는 이화학적 변화를 최소화시키는 완자를 제조하기 위하여 완자의 지방에 의한 화학적 변화를 지연시키고자 천연 항산화제인 허브를 2% 첨가하였다. 전통적인 방식인 pan-frying으로 기름온도 11$0^{\circ}C$에서 6분 이상 조리하여 내부온도가 74$^{\circ}C$ 이상이 되게 한 다음 냉장고에 넣어 내부온도가 3$^{\circ}C$가 되도록 냉각시킨 후에 비닐팩에 넣어 3$^{\circ}C$에서 8일간 냉장저장하면서 완자의 산화 양상을 조사하였다 완자의 조리, 저장 중 대조구에 비하여 허브를 첨가한 완자의 산가가 낮은 경향을 보였으며, 특히 sage 첨가구는 4.23 KOH mg/g으로 가장 낮은 산가를 나타냈다. 과산화물자도 sage 첨가구가 가장 낮은 산화양상을 나타냈고 (22.0 meq/kg) 다른 허브의 첨가구들도 대조구에 비하여 비슷하거나 낮은 경향을 보였다. TBA가는 rosemary/parsley/thyme 첨가구가 0.29 mgMA/kg으로 가장 낮았고, sage 및 basil/mints 첨가구도 비교적 낮은 경향을 보여 허브에 의해 산화반응이 지연되거나 산화생성물이 억제된 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 완자의 기호도를 조사한 결과 허브향 자체에 거부감이 없고 오히려 고기 특유의 냄새를 없애주는 것으로 나타나 추출물이 아닌 허브 자체의 천연 항산화제로의 활용 가능성은 물론 육제품의 관능성을 증진시킬 수 있었으며 SA>RPT>BM 처리구 순으로 효과적이었다.

섬백리향 잎과 줄기 추출물의 항염 활성에 관한 세포생물학적 연구 (Anti-Inflammatory Effect of the Extracts from Leaves and Stems of Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica (H.Hara))

  • Objectives : Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica (H.Hara) is a member of the genus Thymus of perennial aromatic herb, and it's designated as a natural monument of South Korea. It has traditionally been known to have protective or therapeutic effects on various human disease including cerebrovascular and neurological disease. Recently it was suggested that essential oil extracted from thyme has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial effect. The aim of this study is to investigate anti-inflammatory effect of Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica in Raw 264.7 macrophage cell line. Methods : The cytotoxic effects of water and 70% ethanol extracts from Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica, was tested using MTT assay. Inhibitory effects of the extracts to nitric oxide production and mRNA expression of inflammatory cytokines were examined by RT-PCR. Also, MitoSOX-red assay and JC-1 assay were performed to determine if the extracts can inhibit mitochondrial ROS accumulation and maintain mitochondrial membrane potential. Results : In LPS-induced inflammatory response, the extracts efficiently reduced nitric oxide NO production through inhibiting mRNA expression of iNOS enzyme. In addition, expression of the proinflammatory cytokines, IL-1𝛽 and IL-6, was also down-regulated by the extract treatments. Excessive accumulation of mitochondrial ROS induced by LPS was inhibited in the extract treated cells, which finally protected mitochondrial membrane potential. Conclusions : These results showed that water and 70% ethanol extracts from Thymus quinquecistatus var. japonica have anti-inflammatory effect through down regulation of IL-1𝛽, IL-6, and iNOS, and also have antioxidative effect against mitochondrial ROS accumulation that promote inflammatory response.
