하부 구조의 고유 진동수비에 따른 돔 구조의 고유 진동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Natural Vibration Characteristics of Dome Structure According to Natural Frequency Ratio of Substructure)

  • Large space structures exhibit different natural vibration characteristics depending on the aspect ratio of structures such as half-open angle. In addition, since the actual large space structure is mostly supported by the lower structure, it is expected that the natural vibration characteristics of the upper structure and the entire structure will vary depending on the lower structure. Therefore, in this study, the natural vibration characteristics of the dome structure are analyzed according to the natural frequency ratio by controlling the stiffness of the substructure. As the natural frequency of the substructure increases, the natural frequency of the whole structure increases similarly to the natural frequency of the upper structure. Vertical vibration modes dominate at $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$, and horizontal vibration modes dominate at $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$.

  • This paper is concerned with the analysis of natural vibration characteristics of an accelerometer used in power plant. The malfunction of the accelerometer in high-temperature environment may produce erroneous sensor signal and the erroneous signal may cause unpredicted accidents in power plants. Hence, the accelerometer which endures high temperature needs to be developed. In this study, the natural vibration characteristics of the accelerometer were investigated prior to the development of the high-temperature accelerometer. The main mechanical part of the accelerometer is a spiral spring. In this study, the dynamic characteristics of the spiral spring were investigated first by using a commercial finite element code. Numerical results show that the thickness of the spiral spring affects the dynamic characteristics. Numerical investigation on the effect of temperature on the performance of the accelerometer will follow.

Analysis on natural vibration characteristics of steel-concrete composite truss beam

  • In order to study the natural vibration characteristics of steel-concrete composite truss beam (SCCTB), the influence of multiple factors such as interface slip, shear deformation and moment of inertia are considered. Afterwards, based on the Hamilton principle the vibration control differential equation and natural boundary conditions of SCCTB are deduced. By solving SCCTB differential equations of vibration control, an analytical calculation method is proposed for analyzing the natural vibration characteristics of SCCTB. The natural frequencies of SCCTBs with different degrees of shear connection and effective lengths are calculated by using the analytical method, and the results are compared against those obtained from ANSYS finite element numerical calculation method. The results show that the analytical method considering the influence factors such as interface slip, shear deformation and moment of inertia are in good agreement with those obtained from ANSYS finite element numerical calculation method. This evidences the correctness of the analytical method and show that the method proposed exhibits improvement over the previously developed theories for the natural vibration characteristics of SCCTB. Finally, based on the analytical method, the influence factors of SCCTB natural vibration characteristics are analyzed. The results indicate that the influence of interface slip stiffness on SCCTB's natural frequency is more than 10% and therefore cannot be neglected. Moreover, shear deformation has an effect of more than 35% on SCCTB's natural frequency and the effect cannot be ignored either in this case too.

  • This paper is concerned with the dynamic characteristics of buildings, especially with the measurement of the natural frequencies(natural periods) and the damping. Process of ambient vibration and synchronized human excitation tests for natural period and damping are given. Data from measurement on 16 reinforced concrete buildings in Seoul and Seoul national university of technology are given. 16 Low-rise Reinforced concrete buildings are measured for ambient vibration to obtain the vibrations characteristics. The natural periods obtained by ambient vibration measurements are compared with those of forecast model suggested by standards and foreign researchers. The natural periods show a clear dependence on building height. On the other hand, the damping ration scatter under the influence of various factors, for example, building height and natural frequency.

  • The AVT under traffic-induced vibrations was carried out on Namhae Suspension bridge in Korea. Mode shapes as well as natural frequencies up to the 15th mode were acquired exactly, and the effect of traffic mass and temperature on measured natural frequencies was investigated. The results from the AVT are compared with those from forced vibration test(FVT) and FE analysis. (omitted)

적층 압전 변환기의 진동 특성 (Vibration Characteristics of Stacked Piezoelectric Transducers)

  • This paper deals with the vibration characteristics of stacked transducers composed of piezoelectric discs, which are main elements of ultrasonic sensors or actuators. The stacked transducers were devised in the sense of natural frequencies. Two- or three-layer transducers were fabricated with piezoelectric discs of different diameters. The natural frequencies were determined by the finite element analysis and they were verified by comparing them with experimental results. It appeared that the natural frequencies of the stacked piezoelectric transducers include the natural frequencies of the constituent piezoelectric discs and the natural frequencies caused by stacking. Based on these results, it would be possible to predict the vibration characteristics of the stacked piezoelectric transducers in a design process.

  • The free flexural vibration of a cantilever plate partially submerged in a fluid is investigated. The fluid is assumed to be inviscid and irrotational. The virtual mass matrix is derived by solving the boundary-value problem related to the fluid motion using elliptical coordinates. The introduction of the elliptical coordinates naturally leads to the use of the Mathieu function. Hence, the virtual mass matrix which reflects the effect of the fluid on the natural vibration characteristics is expressed in analytical form in terms of the Mathieu functions. The virtual mass matrix is then combined with the dynamic model of a thin rectangular plate obtained by using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. This combination is used to analyze the natural vibration characteristics of a partially submerged cantilever plate qualitatively. Also, the non-dimensionalized added virtual mass incremental factors for a partially submerged cantilever plate are presented to facilitate the easy estimation of natural frequencies of a partially submerged cantilever plate. The numerical results validate the proposed approach.

  • This study deals a way to reduce the transformer noises. The first step is to identify the source of the transformer noises. The second step is obtaining the vibration characteristics of transformer; its natural frequencies and mode shapes. Based on these information, an method to reduce the vibration of transformer can be found. The cause of transformer noises is mainly due to the magnetostrictive vibration of a core which is made of ferromagnetic substances. It is well known that the magnetostrictive vibration of a core is unavoidable, and a way to reduce the transformer noise by structural design is needed. It requires understanding the vibration characteristics. The natural frequencies and the mode shapes of transformer are analyzed by performing the modal testing.

  • The carbon fiber epoxy composite material and aluminum have many advantages over other materials because of their high specific stiffness and good fatigue characteristics. Basically, the propeller shaft of automobile requires bending frequency of higher than 2,700 Nm and high natural frequency of higher than 9,200 rpm occurred by fast revolution. For this reason, natural frequency and torsion torque characteristics of hybrid shaft was studied in variation of its outer-diameter and thickness. Vibration and torque characteristics of hybrid shaft were compared by torsion tester, natural frequency experiments and FE analysis. Designed hybrid shaft satisfied its vibration and torque characteristics when its outer-diameter was 60 mm and thickness was 5 mm. Therefore, hybrid material enables to manufacture one piece structure hybrid propeller shaft rather than current two piece structure.

  • The paper deals with the vibration characteristics of the stack transducers made of piezoelectric discs with different radius. Natural frequencies of the stack transducers were evaluated by finite-element analysis. The natural frequencies of the analysis results were compared with those of each piezoelectric disc, and their relations were investigated.
