포름산과 초음파 열처리에 의한 양모의 물성 및 염색성 변화 (Change of Dyeability and Physical Properties of Modified Wool by Formic Acid, Ultrasonic Wave and Heat Treatment)

  • In this study, the possibility of the practical development of highly sensitive clothing textiles using fibrillated wool fibers were considered by determining the dyeability, the physical and mechanical properties of fibrillated wool fibers treated under strong acid and high temperature ultrasonic wave irradation and they were compared with those of untreated wool fibers. The color strengths of the dyed fibrillated wool fabrics increased by the acid metal complex dyes contrary to the untreated wool fabrics, and color fastness properties to rubbing, light, and dry cleaning were excellent, similar to those of the untreated wool fabrics. The tensile strengths of fibrillated wool fabrics were also kept after the dyeing. Moreover, the Numeri, Fukurami, and THV of the fibrillated wool fabrics were better than those of the untreated wool fabrics.

  • This study wants to test the nexus among resource orientation, market orientation, social network, and knowledge sharing toward organizational innovation, and the nexus between organizational innovation and MSMEs performance. Questionnaires and interviews are conducted with some MSMEs actors in Central Java Province, Indonesia, in Klaten Regency and Pekalongan City. These two areas have creative MSMEs, especially Batik MSMEs that have been very large and known worldwide. The sampling technique is done purposively with certain criteria for the respondents. The data analysis technique is done using Partial Least Square. This study provides recommendations about strategic practice and policy (resource and market), social network, and knowledge sharing in increasing organizational innovation, and the impact of organizational innovation toward MSMEs performance. It also offers a comprehensive model of the determinant factor of organizational innovation by considering the aspect of strategic orientation, social network, and knowledge sharing. Other unique aspects that are also important to consider are social network and the importance of knowledge sharing in improving MSMEs Performance. The respondents are still limited in two areas, namely, Pekalongan and Klaten, so it still cannot represent the whole population. These areas also have different orientation of production process approach, namely, synthetic and natural dyes.

보라색 복식의 이미지 특성 (Color Images of Purple Clothing)

  • This study is to demonstrate purple color characteristics by analyzing various purple clothing from Antiquity to modern fashion. In this respect, both documentary and investigative studies have been performed. Through, the documentary studies, the changes and examples of purple clothing were scrutinized, and images of purple were classified based on the Color Image Scale. Purple color samples applied during a period from 1993 to 1996, were collected from 33 women's domestic brands, and the colors were measured by the CE 7000 spectrophotometer and analyzed by Munsell HV/C. The results were shown as follows; 1. In Antiquity, the symbolic value of purple was heavenly color, because it was a bearer of light, a sign of the epiphany of the gods. 2. With the advent of synthetic dyes, purples were in the vanguard. This chemical synthesis gave purple, historically a regal prerogative, to the people, and enjoyed a memorable vogue in the mid-mineteenth century. 3. The purple images in fashion were changed by the factors such as culture-art, technological advances, political-economical situations, sports ect., and appears in modern fashion romantic, natural elegance, classic, gorgeous, chic, and dandy images. 4. In the result of analytical study on women's purple dress in domestic market, 10PB hue and P tone were mosetly used from 1993 to 1996.

Simple Method to Correct Gene-Specific Dye Bias from Partial Dye Swap Information of a DNA Microarray Experiment

  • In a cDNA microarray experiment using Cy3 and Cy5 as labeling agents, particularly for the direct design, cDNAs from some genes incorporate one dye more efficiently than the other, which is referred to as the gene-specific dye bias. Dye-swaps, in which two dyes are switched on replicate arrays, are commonly used to control the gene-specific dye bias. We developed a simple procedure to extract the gene-specific dye bias information from a partial dye swap experiment. We detected gene-specific dye bias by identifying outliers in an X-Y plane, where the X axis represents the average log-ratio from two sets of dye swap pairs and the Y axis exhibits the average log ratio of four forward labeled arrays. We used this information for detecting differentially expressed genes, of which the additionally detected genes were validated by real-time RT-PCR.

치자(梔子)(Gardenia Fructus)를 이용(利用)한 식용색소(食用色素) 개발(開發)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Development of Food Dye from Gardenia Fructus)

  • Crocin was extracted from Gardenia fructus in order to manufacture a natural food dye. In the extraction and purification process methanol and ethanol were used as the most Suitable solvent selected in preliminary test and 9.28%g/100g of Cretin product in 99.89% of purity was acquired. The lethal dose of Cretin administered in mouse by intra peridoneal was 5.36g/kg which is much lower toxic than any other. The toxic dose which caused diarrhoea in rat was 2.55g/kg and maximum no effect level was found to be 272mg/kg. From the $1%{\sim}2.5%$ content of Crocin in rat diet reduction of body weight appeared and GTP and GOT (Transaminase) value in creased significantly. Crocin showed a good properties of tolerating acid, alkali, sunlight, reductant, oxidant, and salt compared with tar dyes. The range from 100 ppm to 500ppm bring out bright $yellow{\sim}orange$ color, the most effective color, with a good solubility in water-slightly in oil. The acceptable daily intake of crocin was calculated as 2.72mg/kg based on maximum no effect dose (2% additive dose).

Antioxidant activities of licorice-derived prenylflavonoids

  • Glycyrrhiza uralensis (or licorice) is a widely used Oriental herbal medicine from which the phenylflavonoids dehydroglyasperin C (DGC), dehydroglyasperin D (DGD), and isoangustone A (IsoA) are derived. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the antioxidant properties of DGC, DGD, and IsoA. The three compounds showed strong ferric reducing activities and effectively scavenged DPPH, $ABTS^+$, and singlet oxygen radicals. Among the three compounds tested, DGC showed the highest free radical scavenging capacity in human hepatoma HepG2 cells as assessed by oxidant-sensitive fluorescent dyes dichlorofluorescein diacetate and dihydroethidium bromide. In addition, all three compounds effectively suppressed lipid peroxidation in rat tissues as well as $H_2O_2$-induced ROS production in hepatoma cells. This study demonstrates that among the three phenylflavonoids isolated from licorice, DGC possesses the most potent antioxidant activity, suggesting it has protective effects against chronic diseases caused by reactive oxygen species as well as potential as an antioxidant food additive.

Actinidia arguta Protects Cultured Cerebral Cortical Neurons against Glutamate-Induced Neurotoxicity via Inhibition of $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ Increase and ROS Generation

  • Actinidia arguta (Actinidiaceae) has been reported to have several pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-oxidant activities. The present study investigated the protective activity of an ethanol extract from the leaf and stem of A. arguta against glutamate-induced neurotoxicity using cultured rat cortical neurons. Exposure of cultured cortical neurons to $500{\mu}M$ glutamate for 12 h triggered neuronal cell death. A. arguta inhibited glutamate-induced neuronal death and apoptosis, which were measured by a 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and Hoechst 33342 staining, respectively. The increase of pro-apoptotic proteins, Bax and c-caspase-3, in glutamate-treated neurons was significantly inhibited by treatment with A. arguta. A. arguta also inhibited $500{\mu}M$ glutamate-induced elevation of intracellular calcium concentration ($[Ca^{2+}]_i$) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, which were measured by fluorescent dyes, Fluo-4 AM and $H_2DCF$-DA, respectively. These results suggest that A. arguta may prevent glutamate-induced apoptotic neuronal death by inhibiting $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ elevation and ROS generation and, therefore, may have a therapeutic role for the prevention of neurodegeneration in cerebral ischemic diseases.

녹차색소의 특성과 염색성 (제1보) -녹차색소의 성분과 특성- (Characteristics and Dyeing Properties of Green Tea Colorants(Part I) -Components and characteristics of Green Tea Colorants-)

  • Colorants in green tea were extracted freeze-dried and analyzed to investigate the possibility of using as a natural dye. Fractionation of the colorants was carried out by column chromatograpy. Colorants in green tea were eluted into five fractions. All the fractions except fraction F2 showed absorption peakat 280nm. Fraction f2 showed absorption peak at 270nm and broad peak at 350nm, From the IR analysis it is speculated that fractions F2-F5 having similar stucture but different molecular weight are catechis. Silk fabrics dyes with fractions F1-F4 showed yellowish red color while sample dyed with fraction F5 showed red color. The colorants from green tea infusion was applied to silk wool nylon cotton and rayon fabrices. It showed relatively good affinity to protein and polyamide fibers bur low affinity to cellulose and regenerated cellulose fibers.

키토산 가공이 모직물의 특성에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Chitosan Treatment on Properties of Wool Fabrics)

  • The changes on shrinkage, dyeability, antimicrobial activities and other physical properties of wool fabrics by chitosan treatment were investigated. A acid dye, a basic dye and natural artemisia were used for dyeing of wool fabrics. For Antimicrobial test of wool fabrics, S.Aureus was used. As the results, The wool fabrics treated with chitosan showed a marked decrease in shrinkage. Dyeability increased slightly as concentration of chitosan treatment increased, Dyeability of acid dye was the highest than other dyes. On the other hand, the dyeability of basic dye on chitosan treated fabrics was lower than untreated fabrics. Reduction rates of colony of chitosan-treated wool fabrics showed from 64.8% to 85.24% as chitosan concentration increased. Reduction rates of colony of the chitosan-treated fabrics decreased by dyeing with acid and basic dye. But increased by retreating with chitosan. Fabrics dyeing with atremisia showed above 90% reduction rate against S.Aureus on all chitosan concentrations. The Tensile properties of chitosan-treated fabrics showed little decrease. The moisture regain and the air permeability was decreased on chitosan concentration on 0.1% but recovered as chitosan concentration increased. The warmth retention was increased a little by chitosan treatment. The drapeability became hard as chitosan concentration increased.

조명에 의한 박물관 전시물의 변색 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Museum Exhibit's Color Change by Lighting)

  • 박물관에서 조명에 의한 전시물의 손상이 일어나는 것을 최소화하기 위해서 적절한 조명 기준이 요구된다. 이러한 조명 기준의 작성을 위한 기초 자료를 얻기 위하여, 방사에너지의 파장의 함수로 전시물의 변색을 측정할 수 있는 장치를 구성하였다. 크세논 램프를 광원으로 사용하고, 빛은 여러 가지 차광 필터를 통과하여 시료에 입사한다. 여러 차광 필터 밑의 시료의 색을 측정함으로써 특정 파장 범위의 방사 에너지에 의한 사료의 변색을 추정하였다. 측정 결과, 식물 염료들은 단시간에 심한 변색을 보였으나, 전래 종이는 상대적으로 거의 변색이 되지 않았다. 측정 결과를 이용하여 다른 광원에 의한 변색을 예측할 수 잇으며, 이는 조명 기준 작성의 근거가 된다.
