  • There are a lot of roots of errors in an motion of the optical pick-up actuator being one of the most significant components in a CD-ROM drive. Most of the studies recently performed have a tendency to seek for the causes from an actuator itself. This paper present the dynamic characteristics of an actuator affected by the motion of a feeding deck. The feeding system is modeled as a rigid body with eight degree-of-freedom. Using Largrange's equation, we derive the linear equations of motion with respect to the rectangular coordinate. We found the fact that the ranges of the natural frequencies of a feeding deck and an actuator are close to each other. And the time responses are also computed by the Newmark method and Runge-Kutta method.

지중송전케이블 접속부에서의 열전달에 관한 연구 (A Study on Heat Transfer of an Underground Power Transmission Cable-Joint)

  • Recently, underground transmission system is growing continuously according to the electric power demand increase in the downtown area. Even if domestic cable makers are manufacturing 154kV oil filled cable and joint, the design technology of cable-joint has not been fully self-reliance. This study is aimed at the detail heat transfer analysis of 154kV cable-joint. So, that is cut into the five sections in order to analyze a conjugate natural convection in two dimensional $r-{\theta}$ coordinate. The streamline and temperature distributions are obtained for each sections. Also the changes of those are analyzed with respect to the variation of transmission currents and cable-joint surface heat transfer coefficients. The same analyses are also shown in view point of the maximum temperature of conductor and local equivalent conductivity.

  • Numerical investigation is made to study the effects of natural convection on the formation of macrosegregation of a Pb-Sn alloy solidification process in a 2-D confined rectangle mold. The governing equations are calculated using previous continuum models with SIMPLE algorithm doring the solidification process. In addition. to track the solid-liquid interface with time variations. the moving boundary condition Is adopted and irregular interface shapes are treated with Boundary-Fitted Coordinate system. As the temperature reduce from the liquidus to the solidus, the liquid concentration of Sn. the lighter constituent, increases. Then the buoyancy-driven flow due to temperature and liquid composition gradients, called thermosolutal convection or double diffusion, occurs in the mushy region and forms the complicated macrosegregation maps. Related to this phnomena, effects on the macrosegregation formation depending on the cooling condition and gravity values are described.

Text Extraction in HIS Color Space by Weighting Scheme

  • A robust and efficient text extraction is very important for an accuracy of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems. Natural scene images with degradations such as uneven illumination, perspective distortion, complex background and multi color text give many challenges to computer vision task, especially in text extraction. In this paper, we propose a method for extraction of the text in signboard images based on a combination of mean shift algorithm and weighting scheme of hue and saturation in HSI color space for clustering algorithm. The number of clusters is determined automatically by mean shift-based density estimation, in which local clusters are estimated by repeatedly searching for higher density points in feature vector space. Weighting scheme of hue and saturation is used for formulation a new distance measure in cylindrical coordinate for text extraction. The obtained experimental results through various natural scene images are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

직관적인 핸드 모션에 기반한 NUI/NUX 프레임워크 (NUI/NUX framework based on intuitive hand motion)

  • 내츄럴 유저 인터페이스는 마우스, 키보드, 펜과 마커를 이용하지 않는 신체를 이용한 자연스런 모션 인터페이스이다. 지금까지 대표적인 동작 인식 방법은 마커를 이용하는 방식이었고 그 인식 방법은 각 마커의 좌표를 상대적인 데이터로 입력 받아 데이터베이스에 각 좌표 값을 저장하는 것이었다. 그러나 정확한 동작을 인식하기 위해서는 더 많은 마커들이 필요하고 그 마커들을 붙이는 것과 데이터들을 처리하는 데에 상당한 시간이 걸린다. 또, NUI/NUX 프레임워크를 개발하면서, 가장 중요한 직관성을 배제한 개발로 사용상에 문제가 생겼고 계속해서 사용자에게 암기만을 강요하고 있다. 이 문제를 보완하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 마커를 이용하지 않았고 남녀노소 누구나 다룰 수 있도록 구현했다. 또, 목소리, 신체 동작, 얼굴 표정 등을 동시에 인식하는 멀티모달 NUI/NUX 프레임 워크를 설계했고, 직관적인 손동작을 인식하는 것과 모니터에 그것을 매핑하기 위해 새로운 마우스 이벤트 알고리즘을 제안했다. 우리는 사용자들이 쉽고 직관적으로 핸드마우스 이벤트를 다루도록 구현했다.

포도당 환원을 이용한 천연 인디고 염색 (Natural Indigo Dyeing by Using Glucose Reduction)

  • Dyeing process of the natural indigo powder onto ramie and silk fabrics was investigated by using glucose and calcium hydroxide as a reducing system. Effect of reduction and dyeing conditions such as temperature and time of reduction/dyeing, and concentrations of glucose and calcium hydroxide on the dyeing process were explored. Indigo powder was obtained by drying the conventional niram paste in an oven at $50^{\circ}C$. Color strength of the dyed fabrics was evaluated by K/S value measured at the wavelength of maximum absorption(${\lamda}$max). Munsell color coordinates(H V/C) were used to compare fabric colors of ramie and silk. Ramie fabric showed purple-blue color for all the temperature and time. On the contrary, silk fabric showed wide range of color including brown, brown-green, green at the different temperature. With the increase of K/S value, the coordinate of value(lightness) decreased for both of ramie and silk fabrics. The coordinate of hue(shade) changed drastically with the increase of K/S value for silk fabric, compared with that of ramie fabric which showed nearly constant value at the whole range of K/S value. Optimum concentrations of calcium hydroxide were for 6 g/L for ramie and 4 g/L for silk at $60^{\circ}C$ and 50 min. K/S value increased with the indigo concentration. Maximum K/S value was shown at $10{\sim}12$ g/L of glucose concentration. For both of ramie and silk fabrics, the colorfastness of washing and light was lower than that of rubbing. All the colorfastness values were improved with the increase of color strength.

  • 본 연구에서 사용된 유한요소 방정식은 국부 질점좌표계(natural convected coordinate system)를 이용하여 변형을 묘사하는 대변형을 고려한 탄소성 증분 수식을 사용하였고, 국부 질점 좌표계를 사용함으로써 변형도 성분이나 구성 방정식의 성분들 에 대한 좌표 변환 과정을 생략할 수 있다. 재료는 수직 이방성으로 가정하였다.

  • It is a well-known phenomenon that, in the case of vibrations of an elastic body in a fluid such as water, the presence of the surrounding fluid has the effect of lowering the natural frequencies of the vibration as compared with those in air or vacuum on account of the increased inertia, i.e. added mass. In this report, defining the mass increase factor as the ratio of added mass to vibration mass of the body in air, the author investigated the mass increased factor of an elastic plate vibrating in the fluid. It is assumed that the edges of the plate are simply supported, and that the surrounding fluid is an infinite ideal one. For the problem formulation the elliptical cylindrical coordinate system is adopted, so that a rectangular plate may be represented by a sheet degenerated from an elliptical cylinder. By virtue of the coordinate system adopted, plates which are chordwisely finite and lengthwisely contineous could directly be treated, but plates which are chordwisely finite in both directions could not be treated directly. For the latter, hence, plates which are chordwisely finite and lengthwisely semi-finite are investigated as an appropriate approximation. Some examples of the mass increase factor are numerically calculated for the fundamental mode and modes of zero or one nodal line in each direction with the range of the aspect ratio from 1 to 10 or more.

  • Natural convection of air with Pr=0.7 between two horizontal plates with small magnitude non-uniform temperature distribution[${\in}{\Delta}Tsin({\kappa}X/H)$, H : gap width, X : horizontal coordinate] in the lower plate is numerically(${\in}=0.01$) investigated. In the conduction-dominated regime with $Ra{\leq}1700$, two upright cells are formed over one wave length($2{\pi}/{\kappa}$). For small wave number, the flow becomes unstable with increase of Rayleigh number, and multicellular convection occurs above a critical Rayleigh number. The flow patterns are classified by the number of eddies over one wave length. When ${\kappa}=1$, a transition of $2{\rightarrow}4{\rightarrow}6$ eddy flow occurs with increase of Rayleigh number, and no hysteresis phenomenon is observed. Dual and triple solutions are found for ${\kappa}=1$, and transitions of $10{\rightarrow}8$, $8{\rightarrow}6$, $6{\rightarrow}4{\rightarrow}2$ eddy flow occur with decrease of Rayleigh number.

신부의 추구이미지와 외모관리행동에 관한 질적연구 (A Qualitative Research on Pursuing Image and Appearance Management Behavior of Brides)

  • The purpose of this study was to examined which the pursuing image, make-up and hair style desire on their wedding day and how the future brides managed their appearance for the wedding. This qualitative research was based on the data collected by in-depth interviews with 15 brides in their 20s, 30s and 40s who reside in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. The results of the study are shown follow: The images that the brides most pursued for the wedding day were elegant images and refine images. The favorite wedding-dress styles of brides were elegant, refine, lovely, classical, and natural style in order of preference. The design of the dress was top priority when selecting the wedding-dress and it was followed by the function that complements anyones' shape. The brides liked natural style wedding make-up most and refine and young one followed. They considered eye make-up most important after skin expression, that is, covering defects of their skin. Concerning wedding hair styles, an up-style which is typical for wedding is desired most and a natural flowing hair style second. Regarding fitness, they mainly took physical exercise and went on a diet which is not unreasonably harsh.
