The continuous accumulation of printed materials prompts rethinking of library space problem and systematic preservation of library collection. To respond to this challenge, this study provides actionable models for the National Repository library and the Cooperative Repository Network. The development of the models is based on the analysis of overseas best practices as well as data derived from current state of public library cooperative network administered by the National Library of Korea. This study also offers a range of strategies for the operation of repository library system.

The goal of this study is to analyze the feasibility of establishment of the collaborative repository for public libraries in Korea. To that end, its feasibilities were analyzed from the sides of the relevant laws, national policy, library's recognition, and actual collection space. As a result, the feasibility of establishment of the collaborative repository was revealed by enough. Accordingly, based on the this basic research, there is a need to develop immediately the construction and operation model of the collaborative repository. And the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and metropolitan city and province must grant priority of cultural policy in the establishment of the collaborative repository.

A national library is a library specifically established and administrated by the government of a nation to serve as the repository of knowledge and information for that country. National libraries are generally a county's designated national repository, collecting literature Published in the country, in the language of the country, or about the country they represent. In case of advanced countries, national libraries have more than one branches at many different locations. Its system is called the distributed national library system. But the National Library of Korea maintains a centralized library system located in Seoul. This research which it tries to pay attention in this problem Point extracted a logical ground and suggested the mid-long term basic plan(S-shaved Branch Library Project) for a National Library of Korea to convert and reconstruct from centralized system to centralized-distributed system.

The paper investigates open access (OA) self archiving policies of different Open Access Repositories (OARs) of COAPI (Coalition of Open Access Policy Institutions) founder members as reported in June 2011 (i.e. a total of 22 members against a total of 46 COPAI members as reported by Open Biomed (http://openbiomed.info/2011/08/coapi-cats/). The paper consulted three databases (OpenDOAR, ROAR and ROARMAP) in order to evaluate twenty-two (22) COAPI-members OARs self archiving policy documentations and highlights of some progress on issues so far. After analyzing policy documentations, key findings have been highlighted and common practices have been suggested in line with global recommendations and best practice guidelines at national and international levels for strengthening national research systems. The paper has implications for administrators, funding agencies, policy makers and professional librarians in devising institute specific self archiving policies for their own organization.

To that end, its importance was analyzed from the sides of collection space of libraries, national management of academic information resources, cases of collaborative repository. And its feasibility was logically proved in terms of the global production and distribution of knowledge and information, library relevant laws, national policies of academic information resources, and actual collection space of academic libraries. The open access repository means the knowledge information repository for the producer and the user to share in order for all users of the world to freely access the information free of charge with no legal, economic and technological barrier. This study analyzes and compares the functions offered by each repository by classifying the repository into the organizational repository (dCollection, DSpace@MIT) and the thematic repository (arXiv, PubMed Central) and evaluates the user-centered usability based on the analyzed data. This study at the current times, so called as the Web 2.0 era in which the free access and sharing of the information is important, can be said to have the meaning that the result from the usability evaluation on the open access repository will be used as the fundamental data for developing the future repository.

This study purposed to measure the economic value of repository services of the National Open Access Platform (AccessON), namely Self Archiving and Journal Repository. The value of Self Archiving was measured by applying time-saving value and the value of Journal Repositories by applying market analogy. Based on existing statistics, in-depth interviews with service beneficiaries and stakeholders, and a survey administered to 1,313 researchers, the value of Self Archiving was estimated to be 145 million won and an additional 12 million won with the OA legalization. The value of Journal Repositories was estimated to be 31.2 billion won. The total value of the repository services was 31.35 billion won over the 8-year business period. This result presented an estimated economic value of a national OA repository from the key beneficiaries' perspectives.

In this study, data repository information registered in re3data (re3data.org), a research data registry, was collected. Based on collected data, the current status was analyzed for 354 repositories (approximately 14% of total repositories) in the field using keywords in the ecological field suggested by two experts. Major metadata formats used to describe data in ecological research data repositories include Federal Geographic Data Committee Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (FGDC/CSDGM), Dublin Core, ISO 19115, Ecological Metadata Language (EML), Directory Interchange Format (DIF), Darwin Core, Data Documentation Initiative (DDI), and DataCite Metadata Schema. The number of ecological repositories according to country is 102 in the US, 34 in Germany, 31 in Canada, and one in Korea. A total of 771 non-profit organizations and 12 for-profit organizations are involved in the construction of the ecological field research data repository. Data version control ratio of the ecological field research data repositories registered in re3data was analyzed to be somewhat higher (86.6%) than the total ratio (83.9%). Results of this study can be used to establish policies to build and operate a research data repository in the ecological field.

Efforts to establish a joint preservation facility for library materials are being discussed in the regional representative libraries recently, but this is mainly a movement in public libraries. This study aimed to provide a model for a joint preservation facility construction and management especially for the National Universities Library in Busan/Gyeongnam area. For this job, after analyzing the current situation, this study focuses on 1) estimated size of the planned facility calculated by investigating the size and equipment, operation policy, collection quantity and saturation status of participating library archives, 2) strategies for construction, proposed a joint preservation architecture construction management model such as organization and human resources, and standards for transferring materials.

The purpose of this study is to measure and analyze the quality of service provided to the users by evaluating the service quality of the May 18 Democratic Uprising Archives, which is a representative,special subject repository, using the SERVQUAL model. To do this, revealing the relationship between factors such as service satisfaction of the archive users, overall service quality and intention of the action. Through this, this study developed service evaluation factors by considering the special subject repository.
