Purpose: The study was conducted to investigate the correlation between perception of patient safety risk factors, patient safety competency, and safety nursing activities of nurses in hemodialysis units and identify factors affecting patient safety activities. Methods: The participants were 146 nurses from 16 hemodialysis units located in Gyeongsangnam-do. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS, version 24.0. Results: The mean safety nursing activity score was 3.47±0.38. safety nursing activities of the participants were significantly correlated with patient safety competency. The characteristics showing significant differences in safety nursing activities were educational level, hospital type, hospital work experience, number of hemodialysis treatment per day, number of hemodialysis treatment per nurse, educational experience of patient safety, presence of a patient safety incident report registration system, and direct registration of patient safety incident report. The multiple regression analysis revealed that the factors influencing safety nursing activities were patient safety incident report, patient safety competency, and number of daily hemodialysis treatment (<5~7 times/day) per nurse (R²=.34). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the safety nursing activities of hemodialysis unit nurses should be intensified. In addition, the registration system of patient safety incident report and nurses' competency on patient safety should be improved, and the number of hemodialysis per nurse should be fewer than 7 times per day.

The purpose of this study is to contribute to improving the efficiency of managing the database of the reports arising from the results of National R&D projects. To that end, the reports submitted by 49 agencies under the Ministry of Science and ICT were collected, and samples were selected for each institution. The samples and form of the final report and summary of the Enforcement Rule of the Framework Act on Science and Technology were compared, and the components and items to be entered were established. The final report's unique items were derived from the analysis of the state of connection with the National R&D information standard. The items to be entered are classified into major and optional according to their importance, and the location of the entry to be entered is suggested. If standardization of the elements and items is advanced as planned, it is expected to automate metadata extraction and improve the quality of report metadata when building a database.

There is no any reports on nation-wide nutrition survey since 1947 in Korea, During the period only the small scaled nutrition surveys have been reported by several investigators. Authors, under the financial support from the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, Republic of Korea, had conducted a nation-wide nutrition survey, including dietary, clinical, and socio-economical aspects, during the period from 29th of July to 15th of August, 1969. Number of households surveyed and population distribution are shown in Table II-2 and age and sex distribution of the population surveyed are also in Table II-3 in this report. Average food and nutrient intakes are shown in Tables II-6, II-7 and II-8 respectively. For the detailed discussions on food and nutrient intakes, see the Tables II-9 through II-11 and Figures II-1 through II-10 in this report. Anthropometric data are shown in Tables III-1 through III-4 and in Figures III-1 through III-4. Data of deficiency diseases are shown in Table III-5 and in Figure III-5 in this report. Congenital absence of a cervical spine pedicle is a rare clinical entity, and it is usually found incidentally on radiological studies performed after trauma in patients with cervical pain. We report two cases of congenital absence of a cervical spine pedicle and present a review of the literature.

A stilt crab Crossotonotus spinipes (De Man, 1888) is newly reported from Korean waters as a result of continuous taxonomic studies on crabs. The present specimen has a row of tubercles and a longitudinal lobe with denticles on the dorsal border of the propodus of the chelipeds, and a shorter Pereopod 5. The description and illustration of this species are provided.

This is a case report of idiopathic fibromatosis on the gingiva. The patient was a 25 years old male. In this case, we had a good result from surgical excision, combining the gingivectomy and split thickness flap operation.

Implant placement is frequently complicated and challenging because of the poor quality and inadequate height of bone. Clinicians should consider various surgical procedures to overcome the problems. We report a case with various surgical procedures used such as inferior alveolar nerve repositioning, sinus bone graft, and autogenous block bone graft using the coronoid process and ramus to overcome severe vertical and horizontal alveolar bone atrophy.

We report a case of tenosynovial giant cell tumor with severe bone erosion in the right fifth finger of a 46-year-old man. Throughout this case review, we describe the imaging findings of tenosynovial giant cell tumor with severe bone erosion and review the literatures regarding osseous lesions caused by tenosynovial giant cell tumor and their significance related to the differential diagnosis and patient treatment.

Collision tumor is a synchronous neoplasm wherein two histologically distinct tumors co-exist within the same anastomosis site. Collision tumor can occur in any organ, but the incidence is markedly rare. Additionally, preoperative diagnosis can be challenging to the radiologist. Herein, we report an age 60 male with collision tumor of rectal adenocarcinoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, presented as a semi-annular wall thickening and bulky exophytic mass on MR imaging.

This is a report of a migrated polyethylene catheter from the arm vein cutdown site into the heart. The patient was a 48 years old male who was operated on for mitral stenosis complicated with pulmonary hypertension. On the 8th postoperative day after open mitral commissurotomy, polyethylene catheter embolization occurred. The catheter was removed successfully with an incision on the proximal basilic vein. The patient recovered uneventfully and discharged without complications.
