Long-term survival and prognosis of narrow-diameter implants have been reported to be adequate to consider them a safe method for treating a deficient alveolar ridge. The objective of this study was to perform case report of narrow-diameter implants with a trapezoid-shape in anterior teeth alveolar bone. A 50-year-old male patient presented with discomfort due to mobility of all of the maxillary teeth and mandibular incisors. Due to destruction of alveolar bone, four anterior mandibular teeth were extracted. Soft tissue healing was allowed for approximately 3 months after the extraction, and a new design of implant placement was planned for the mandibular incisor area, followed by clinical and radiological evaluation. Implant placement was determined using an R2GATE surgical stent. The stability of the implants was assessed by ISQ measurements at the first and second implant surgery and after prosthetic placement. At 1 and 3 months and 1 year after implantation of the prosthesis, clinical and radiological examinations were performed. Another 50-year-old male patient presented with discomfort due to mobility of the mandibular central incisors. For the same reason as in the first patient, implant placement was carried out in the same way after extraction. ISQ measurements and clinical and radiological examinations were performed as in the previous case. In these two clinical cases, 12 months of follow-up revealed that the implant remained stable without inflammation or additional bone loss, and there was no discomfort to the patient. In conclusion, computer-guided implant surgery was used to place an implant in an optimal position considering the upper prosthesis. A new design of a narrow-diameter implant with a trapezoid-shape into anterior mandibular alveolar bone is a less invasive treatment method and is based on the contour of the deficient alveolar ridge. Through all of these procedures, we were able to reduce the number of traumas during surgery, reduce the operation time and total treatment period, and provide patients with more comfortable treatment.
This study was carried out to classify forest vegetation community of Dodeokbong and Baekwunbong in Gyeryongsan. Employing the releve method of Dierssen, 89 plots were sampled. Forest community was classified into Quercus mongolica community, Quercus serrata community, Quercus variabitis community, Pinus densiflora community, Carpinus laxiflora community, and Pinus rigida-Pinus thunbergii community. Quereus mongolica community was found in high altitude and steep area, Quercus serrata community in relatively low altitude and steep slope area, and Quercus variabilis in southern arid and low area compared with Quercus mongolica community. Pinus densiflora community is present in relatively high altitude and narrow arid ridge area. And, Carpinus laxiflora community is mainly distributed in southern valley area. Pinus rigida-Pinus thunbergii community is planted community.

This paper is a result of investigating causes and main characteristics of landslides, occurred at Hongcheon area in Gangwondo during July in 2006, by collecting relevant data and visiting site. The main cause of landslides in this area has been found to be saturation of the ground wetted by a series of precipitations during 10~13 July and the heavy rainfall during 15 July. The pattern of the landslides could be classified as translational failure, occurred at the boundary between the relatively thin weathered residual soil and the mother rock. By analyzing a number of failed slopes based on site visit and reviewing collected data, typical widths of failed slopes are in the range of 10~20m (minimum: 5m, maximum: 70m). Lengths of landslide area are in the wide range of 10~450m. Most of area are less than 20m in width and 100m in length so that their shapes are long and narrow, frequently observed in Korea, and their areas are relatively small size of around $1000m^2$. The inclinations of the failed slopes are in the range of $10{\sim}60^{\circ}$ while the most probable slope angle is about $20{\sim}25^{\circ}$.
The effect of pH on the corrosion characteristics in the dissimilar friction welded zone of IN713LC-SCM440 in the loaded torsional stress was studied. The corrosion experiment was performed for 120 hours on the specimens with five steps of pH. The surface corrosion pattern of the SCM440 area showed global corrosion and narrow pitting, which was caused by galvanic corrosion between friction welded IN713LC and SCM440, but corrosion did not proceeded from the IN713LC area. The average relative electrode potential gradually tends to decrease with the elapse of the immersion time in the acidity area. The average corrosion current also gradually tend to decrease The corrosion rate showed a larger value when the average relative electrode potential was higher and the average relative current was lower. The corrosion rate showed a larger value when the average relative electrode potential was higher in the acidity area, and it showed large when the average relative electrode potential was lower in the alkalinity area.

A field experiment was conducted in order to investigate the seasonal changes of leaf growth and related characteristics in three cultivars of orchardgrass; Potomac, Kay and Sumas. The results were summarized as follows: 1. Leaf elongation was increased in a nearly linear phase during first and third cutting stages. It was increased slowly in early 10 days to 15 days after cutting and increased rapidly thereafter during the rest cutting stages. In cultivars, Potomac was showed hlgher leaf elongation than other cultivars during all cutting stages. There was no difference of leaf width within cutting stages, but the leaf width of fall regrowth was narrow. Sumas had relatively short and wide leaves. 2. Leaf dry weight and leaf area in first cutting stage were larger than others. Leaf area was increased rapidly from 15 days after cutting and leaf $we$ was increased rapidly from 20 days over all cutting stages. The increase in leaf area and dry weight were slow down after 30 days. 3. Number of epidermal cells was increased rapidly after cutting and the rate of increase was slow down after 30 days. In a cross section of leaf tissue, the part of mesophyll was occupied with about 60% of total area and larger area than other tissues. Leaf tissue had a large vacancy at early growth period after harvest and was filled gradually with mesophyll. This result was related to the increase of leaf dry matter.
This study was aimed at analyzing the location and the characteristics of the Urban hanok tissues that were formed in the downtown since 1920s. Focusing on the relationship between roads and lots, the developing process and the typological characteristics are examined. Through dividing the large and medium lots of the aristocratic families and on the hilly area near the Seoul City Wall, various shapes of urban hanok tissue were evolved. The urban hanok tissues developed before 1936 locate on the downtown sites, while those developed after 1936 locate on the hilly sites. The location of the tissues were identified in the upper area of Jong-no street. The former is composed of small size lots divided into average area $104.4m^2$ with the narrow alleys of about 2.0m width, while the latter is composed of medium size lots divided into average area $131.54m^2$ with the alleys of about 4.0m width. Moreover the structures of the tissues were evolved based on the developing period and the site condition. Samchunpo(Sin Hyang) Harbor is located in the bay of Sa Chun, the central south coast of Korean peninsula. The harbor and coastal boundaries have been protecting by natural coastal islands and shoals. Currently, The Sin Hyang harbor needs maintenance and renovation of the sheltered structures against the weather deterioration and typhoon damages. Consequently to support this, the calculation of accurate design wave through the typhoon wave attack is necessary. In this study, calculation of incident wave condition is simulated using steady state spectrum energy wave model(wide area wave model) from 50 years return wave condition. And this simulation results in wide offshore area were used for the input of the extended mild slope wave model at the narrow coastal area. Finally, the calculation of design wave at Sin Hyang harbor entrance was induced by Boussinesq wave model(detail area wave model) simulation. The numerical model system was able to simulate wave transformations from generation scale to shoreline or harbor impact. We hope these results will be helpful to the engineers doing placement, design, orientation, and evaluation of a wide range of potential solutions in this area.

As invigoration plan of the marine tourism, Busan City has the plan to operate the cruise ship inside of the harbor, but the area has narrow water way with heavy traffic. As a result it is requested to evaluate the safety for the preparation of actual navigation. In this study, the Ship Handling Simulation (SHS) Assessment was conducted, which is regulated by the Maritime Traffic Safety Audit Scheme (MTSAS) in compliance with the Marine Safety Law and the Maritime Traffic Risk Assessment System based on the Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS). The proximity assessment, control assessment and subjective assessment were implemented, which is enacted by the Marine Safety Law by using the SHS. In the case of proximity assessment, the probability of trespass was not analyzed. As the control assessment, the swept path was measured at 11.7 m and 11.5 m for port entry and port departure respectively, which exceeded the width of the model vessel, 10.4 m over; it was considered as a marginal factor. As a result of the subjective evaluation of the navigator, there would be no difficulty on ship maneuvering by paying particular attention to the mooring vessel nearby the Busan Bridge and Yeongdo Bridge as well as the coming vessel from the invisible sea area when the vessel is entering and departing the port. The Marine Traffic Risk Assessment System analyzed as [Cautious] level until the vessel passed the Busan bridge and the curved area at 5 kts and it became to [Dangerous] level from where it left 75 m to the Busan Bridge. When the vessel passed the Busan Bridge and the curved area at 10 kts and entered the narrow area, it indicated the [Dangerous] level and became to [Very dangerous] level from where it left 410 m to the Busan bridge. In conclusion, the vessel should maintain at the speed of 5 kts to reduce the risk when it passes this area.
Nursing Homes do not have a defined standard in the space area nor does it have a detailed standard facility requirement by law. This can possibly lead to the deterioration of the facility and the system. This directly affects the medical treatment space area within the nursing home. The medical treatment area provides medical treatment to seniors and this is where the seniors get most of their daily services. Therefore, this is research is about the study of the space area of the medical center and the ratio trend of the space area for the medical treatment facility located in senior nursing homes. Ten facilities have been selected in this study to analyze the correlation factors between space area and its trends. The analysis performed includes the conditions relating to the area and what affects the center. We have followed up with a proposal for improvement of the facility and area configuration for the medical treatment facility. Based on the analysis, the following conclusion can be made: First, the senior welfare centers are mostly used as a residence purpose followed a temporary stay of residence facility for the seniors. Second, research indicates that the bigger the facility, nursing and public functions took a larger portion of the space area compared to other services within the senior welfare centers. Third, the study shows the management space area took up about 1%~6% of the entire medical center within the nursing home which is a narrow space area because of the integrated management. Fourth, analysis based on the trend in the time-series indicate after the adoption of the system, there is a continued decline in the space area of nursing, management and public areas. Lastly, since before and after 2008, the space area composition of the nursing facility shows a continuous decline in our study. We can safely conclude that the revised senior welfare act's construction plan has an effect in the facility and is effectively working to meet its requirement. Therefore, the revision of the law is required to reflect the social needs of the residents.

To reduce the traffic congestion and parking problems in urban areas tall and narrow vehicles have interested as a means to increase the utilization of existing freeways and parking facilities. The stability problem for those narrow vehicles which might be caused can be reduced by tilting the body toward the inside of the turn. The Direct Tilt Control(DTC) system and the Steering Tilt Control(STC) system have been proposed for those narrow vehicles. In this paper, as one of the performance improvement for that kind of vehicle a new control system to use the merits of both the DTC system and the STC system is proposed. Because two different control systems fight each other, the switching control scheme is applied as a means to prevent fighting. Also, the method in order to achieve the smoothly changed control system when the system is switched from the DTC to the STC or from the STC to the DTC, the appropriate type of control gain is designed.
