Fashion pictorials are recognized as another form of communication method beyond the concept of simply providing information or being artistic photography. Therefore, it is believed that there is necessity to know methods of making a strong impression on people's conscience by effective usage of various presentation techniques that can be used in fashion pictorials. This research studied characteristics of closed form and open form of Wolfflin's precept of forms presented in scene construction. Depaysement technique was classified into three classes which are alien transportation of a part, deformation and ambivalence of an image through literature review of depaysement presentation technique. After studying the concept and characteristics of narrative applicable as the open form, Annie Leibovitz's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" published in an actual fashion magazine was analyzed as an empirical study based on the theoretical research. Through this study, potential of applying depaysement technique as a presentation technique of closed form and narrative as a presentation technique of open form on fashion pictorials was identified. Factors that infuse creativity and achieve uniformity in producing fashion pictorials were shown through analysis of actual fashion pictorials.

Time and space are the foundations of all the narrative. As the aim and content of narrative, spatial narrative plays an increasingly important role in the narrative movies. With the development and application of digital technique, the expressiveness of movie space is enhancing, and spatial narrative has become the focus of directors and critics. As a developing cinematic narrative form, spatial narrative is taking advantage in many aspects, including narrative structure, narrative effect, creative skills and audience acceptance, which can bring breakthrough and innovation to the creation of cinematic narrative. Based on the spatial theory in movies, the paper analyzes the space presentation approaches in the movie Hugo. Combined with the motivating factors, structure factors, symbolic significance and psychological factors of narrative space, the paper specifically analyzes the significance of spatial narrative in American movie Hugo. By researching the glamour of narrative space in the movie, the paper intends to provide certain reference value to the narrative expression of the movies today.

Fashion is a product of form expressing the socio-cultural mood and aesthetic value of an age. Owing to development of the mass media and diversification of arts under the influence of post-modernism in the 20th century, fashion has been more briskly expressed to be presented to the people. With such basic conceptions in mind, this study was aimed at reviewing the fashion photography as visual medium. To this end, visual narrative techniques were analyzed and thereupon, Philip-Lorca diCorcia's fashion photography was examined. This study reviews such visual narrative techniques by dividing into visual and non-visual elements and thereby, examines the three-fold aspects of fashion photography expressions : Representative Level, Ground Level and Context Level. Also this study focuses on Philip-Lorca diCorcia's fashion photography in 'W magazine' which features portfolio form. This study analyzed the visual narratives shown in fashion photography and thereby, expand in diverse ways the fixed images of the conventional fashion photography commercials featuring beautiful models and exquisite costumes, and additionally, determined that fashion photography must be a kind of expression tool which could express not only the simple fashion but also the socio-psychological elements inherent in fashion.

There are many differences in narrative delivery between common movies and Virtual Reality(VR) films due to their differences in the appreciation structure. In VR films, scene changes by cuts have hindered the immersion of the audience instead of promoting narrative delivery. There are a range of experiments on narratives and immersion to solve this issue in VR films. Floating Tent applies hand gestures and immersive effects found in game elements and does not disturb narrative delivery by setting proper spaces and employing a direction technique to enable the melting of narratives into the characteristics of the spaces. There are time limits to offsound and mission performance, and devices fit for apocalyptic spatial expressions are made through a program. One of measures for the increasingly growing interactive storytelling in VR films is effective immersion. In narrative delivery, it is important to consider spatial setting and immersion to enable active intervention into events for immersion rather than passive audience only supposed to watch characters' acting.

This study aims to investigate John Fowles's The French Lieutenant's Woman. This important postmodern novel is arguably the most important fiction published in England during the 1960's. John Fowles, along with Muriel Spark, Irish Mudoch and Doris Lessing is one the most influential postmodern writers. This is a study on the narrative technique, multiful endings, parody and author intrusion. The French Lieutenant's Woman is metafiction - a novel about writing a novel. The author says "This story I am telling is all imagination" in chapter 13. That is to say that John Fowles subverts traditional and even modernist poetics. His own intentional attempt to depart from traditional narrative structure is itself one of the novel's central issues. Through The French Lieutenant's Woman John Fowles shows postmodernist writers' narrative strategy.

In film various techniques interact organically in order to bring a story to life and, by doing so, influence the audience's perception. The techniques composing the form of a film are part of a format-system and therefore have to be well adjusted to the content of the film to trigger an intended effect. It is then that these techniques boost the intensity of the audience's emotional experience. The subject of analysis in this study of aesthetic composition, which is part of the concept of visual narrative, is the movie "Silence", which depicts a disturbing story based on real events. The goal of this study is the analysis of composition techniques used to support the film's narrative structure, where elaborate frame-composition and techniques are applied with great efficiency. Another goal is also to illustrate the meaning of film-format and its importance. Looking deeper into the question of how meaning and emotions, which are inherent in a film, finally manifest themselves on screen through a single shot, where the cinematographer's ideas and aesthetic vision come together and also the question of how a narrative structure in the context of a film works- these questions are the essence of this study.

In this paper, we propose the method that decides the shot types using face detection technique. The shot types, such as close-up shot, medium shot, and long shot, can be applied as useful information for understanding narrative structure of movies. The narrative structure of movie is builded by characters. Also their mental and emotional changes become inextricably bound up with them of narrative. The shot types are decided by distance between character and camera. If put together above them, shot types can be found by using detection technique of face size of characters and understand narrative of movie. To do this, we propose the methodology to detect shot type by face detecting and implement the system to do it. Additionally, we evaluate the performance of the system. The implementation system has been evaluated as 95% for close-up shot detection and 90% for medium shot detection, while 53.3% is just detected for long shots.

The aim of this article was to review age-dependent clinical recommendations for appropriate root canal instrumentation techniques. A comprehensive narrative review of canal morphology, the structural characteristics of dentin, and endodontic outcomes at different ages was undertaken instead of a systematic review. An electronic literature search was carried out, including the Medline (Ovid), PubMed, and Web of Science databases. The searches used controlled vocabulary and free-text terms, as follows: 'age-related root canal treatment,' 'age-related instrumentation,' 'age-related chemo-mechanical preparation,' 'age-related endodontic clinical recommendations,' 'root canal instrumentation at different ages,' 'geriatric root canal treatment,' and 'pediatric root canal treatment.' Due to the lack of literature with practical age-based clinical recommendations for an appropriate root canal instrumentation technique, a narrative review was conducted to suggest a clinical algorithm for choosing the most appropriate instrumentation technique during root canal treatment. Based on the evidence found through the narrative review, an age-related clinical algorithm for choosing appropriate instrumentation during root canal treatment was proposed. Age affects the morphology of the root canal system and the structural characteristics of dentin. The clinician's awareness of root canal morphology and dentin characteristics can influence the choice of instruments for root canal treatment.

Film sound should be analyzed based upon the profound understanding of sound design process and the principle behind it. Lack of this knowledge prevents the research from having the comprehensiveness and concreteness. This study aims to reaffirm the important role of sound design in filmmaking while also investigating the narrative functions of sound design. The role of sound design as a cinematic technique was defined as creating audio-visual experience with a collection of information, emotion, and ideas organized and presented in the sound narrative of films. Each process of sound design, dialog, ambience, Foley, and sound effects, was proved to be performing this role as a result of a case study of various narrative films. The narrative functions of sound design was able to be defined as well.

As with all narrative forms based on media, the narrative method of TV human documentary is closely related to the change of broadcasting environment. In 2017, the world's first terrestrial UHD broadcast was launched in Korea, and in September of that year, KBS broadcasted the UHD special documentary series. , made of UHD capable of ultra-high definition video and immersive audio, showed a narrative approach completely different from the existing TV human documentary. Instead of all-out narration, which was considered an essential element in the TV human documentary, it used the modest first-person narration of the characters, while actively using drones capable of various compositions to express the psychology of the characters in detail and enable viewers' immersion. In addition, the Montage editing technique, an editing method that has not been attempted in TV human documentaries, utilizes the narrative development method of 'showing' as a video without 'explaining' with narration. After , many similar narrative documentaries are broadcast, and the flow and direction of TV human documentaries are changing under UHD broadcasting environment.
