1.3 μm 광통신용 소자를 위한 InAs 양자점 성장 및 파장조절기술 개발 (Development of the Growth and Wavelength Control Technique of In As Quantum Dots for 1.3 μm Optical Communication Devices)

  • We systematically investigated the effects of InAs coverage variation, two-step annealing and an asymmetric InGaAs quantum well (QW) on the structural and optical characteristics of InAs quantum dots (QDs) by using atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and photoluminescence (PL) measurement. The transition of size distribution of InAs QDs from bimodal to multi-modal was noticeably observed with increasing InAs coverage. By means of two-step annealing, it is found that significant narrowing of the luminescence linewidth (from 132 to 31 meV) from the InAs QDs occurs together with about 150 meV blueshift, compared to as-grown InAs QDs. Finally, the InAs QDs emitting at longer wavelength of $1.3\;{\mu}m$ with narrow linewidth were grown by an asymmetric InGaAs QW. The excited-state transition for the InAs QDs with an asymmetric InGaAs QW was not noticeably observed due to the large energy-level spacing between the ground states and the first excited states. The InAs QDs with an asymmetric InGaAs QW will be promising for the device applications such as $1.3\;{\mu}m$ optical-fiber communication.

  • Piezo actuators are mainly used in precision position control system because of their high position resolution. Although there have been many approaches in open loop control of this, those method turn out to be not effective in precision control due to hysteresis and creep. To overcome the problems, closed loop PI control method is used in commercial products. However, it is very difficult to obtain fast response with conventional PI control although piezo actuator has fast response. In this paper, we propose a fuzzy PI control method with the proposed fuzzy PI controller, we obtains faster settling response over the conventional PI controller. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed method with experimental results.

  • 이온 및 분자 이송제어를 위한 기능성 나노채널의 구현을 통하여 이온/분자의 상대적 크기에 의존하는 기존 분리 및 이송 기술의 선택효율, 투과도, 에너지 소비 측면에서의 기존 분리 기술의 한계를 극복하기 위한 새로운 개념의 분리 기술을 제시 하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 나노채널 플랫폼 가공 기술 개발, 나노채널 표면 기능화 기술 개발 등의 연구를 수행하였으며, 나노채널에 대한 전압인가 및 유량 조절이 가능한 이온이송제어 측정 시스템을 제작하고, 다층 금속 멤브레인을 이용하여 선택적으로 특정 이온($Cl^-$)의 이송을 95% 이상 차단하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 세포막에 존재하며 물분자만을 매우 효율적으로 투과시키는 채널인 아쿠아포린의 기능 및 특성을 모방한 신개념의 분리기술 구현을 위한 기반 기술 개발을 수행하였으며, 향후 지속적인 연구를 통하여 차세대 정수/담수, 휴대형 인공신장, 인공 감각 기관 등의 핵심 기반 기술이 될 것으로 예상한다.

Defense Inducer Compounds Up-regulated the Peroxidase, Polyphenol Oxidase, and Total Phenol Activities against Spot Blotch Disease of Wheat

  • Spot blotch disease of wheat caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana (Sacc.) Shoem is considered as an economically important disease which affects all the growing stages of wheat crop. Therefore, it is important to search some effective management strategies against the spot blotch pathogen. Some synthetic elicitor compounds (salicylic acid, isonicotinic acid, and chitosan) and nano-particles (silver and aluminum) were tested against the pathogen to observe the change in biochemical activity and defense action of wheat plant against spot blotch disease. All the tested elicitor compounds and nano-particles showed a significant increase in activity of peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase (PPO), and total phenol over control. The highest increase in activity of peroxidase was recorded at 72 h from chitosan at 2 mM and 96 h from silver nano-particle at 100 ppm. Maximum PPO and total phenol activity were recorded from chitosan at 2 mM and silver nano-particle at 100 ppm as compared to pathogen-treated and healthy control. The lowest percent disease index, lowest no. of spots/leaf, and no. of infected leaves/plant were found in silver nano-particle at 100 ppm and chitosan at 2 mM, respectively. The use of defense inducer compounds results in significantly up-regulated enzymatic activity and reduced spot blotch disease. Therefore, chitosan and silver nano-particle could be used as alternative methods for the management of spot blotch disease.

나노 스테레오리소그래피 공정을 이용한 무(無)마스크 나노 패턴제작에 관한 연구 (Investigation into direct fabrication of nano-patterns using nano-stereolithography (NSL) process)

  • Direct fabrication of nano patterns has been studied employing a nano-stereolithography (NSL) process. The needs of nano patterning techniques have been intensively increased for diverse applications for nano/micro-devices; micro-fluidic channels, micro-molds. and other novel micro-objects. For fabrication of high-aspect-ratio (HAR) patterns, a thick spin coating of SU-8 process is generally used in the conventional photolithography, however, additional processes such as pre- and post-baking processes and expansive precise photomasks are inevitably required. In this work, direct fabrication of HAR patterns with a high spatial resolution is tried employing two-photon polymerization in the NSL process. The precision and aspect ratio of patterns can be controlled using process parameters of laser power, exposure time, and numerical aperture of objective lens. It is also feasible to control the aspect ratio of patterns by truncation amounts of patterns, and a layer-by-layer piling up technique is attempted to achieve HAR patterns. Through the fabrication of several patterns using the NSL process, the possibility of effective patterning technique fer various N/MEMS applications has been demonstrated.

교류 전압에 의한 AAO 나노 구조 성장 제어 (AC based AAO NanoStructure Growth Control)

  • AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxide)는 양극산화 방법을 이용하여 얻을 수 있는 알루미늄의 다공성 산화막이다. 기존의 방법에서는 DC전압을 이용하여 AAO를 성장시켰는데 본 연구에서는 AC전압을 이용하여 AAO의 성장 특성을 제어하였다. 전압원으로 DAQ를 사용하였는데 출력전압을 증폭하기 위하여 2 단 차동증폭기를 제작하였다. 실험 결과는 AAO 기판의 SEM 사진을 촬영, 분석함으로써 얻을 수 있었다. SEM 시진을 분석한 결과 pore size는 전압의 변화에 큰 영향을 받지 않음을 알 수 있었던 반면 성장 길이는 AC전압의 주기가 증가함에 따라 길어지는 성향을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 주기와 AAO 성장 길이와의 관계를 로그스케일 그래프로 나타내보면 선형적인 특성을 나타내었다. 이를 통해 인가한 전압의 주파수에 따라 AAO의 성장 길이를 예측할 수 있었다.

탄소나노히팅파이프를 이용한 온실 난방에너지 절감효과 (Energy Saving Effects of Carbon Nano Heating Pipe for Heating of Greenhouse)

  • This carbon nano heating system was consisted of power supply equipment, a carbon fiber and a stainless flexible hose. carbon nano heating system was manufactured by carbon fiber of a power capacity 30kw/h and light-oil hot air heater in control plot was the heating capacity 30,000kcal/h, As the result, Temperature difference due to carbon nano heating system and hot air heater in greenhouse showed that air temperature at experimental greenhouse, comparison greenhouse were $14.8^{\circ}C$, $13.4^{\circ}C$ respectively. It was found that carbon nano heating system and light-oil hot air heater heating cost were 1,095,740won, 2,683,628won. therefore as heating cost saving 60%. Yield of tomatoes cultured in greenhouse using carbon nano heating pipe was 4% inclease. Economic analysis comparison between the carbon nano heating pipe and the hot air heater in greenhouse were 41% respectively.

Nano-S가 해양수질 및 저질에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 1. 실내수조실험 결과 (The Effect on the Marine Water and Sediment Quality by the Use of Nano-S 1. Result of Water Tank Experiment)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 적조구제에 사용하기 위해 개발된 Nano-S를 해양에 이용함에 있어 Nano-S가 해양환경에 미치는 영향을 조사하는데 있다. 실험은 용적이 180L인 원형의 유수식 수조에서 이루어 졌다. 각각의 수조에는 $14{\pm}1cm$의 니질의 퇴적물을 수조의 바닥에 깔고 해수가 수조를 흘러 넘치도록 채웠다. 수조에 공급되는 해수의 양은 ]밀 1회 환수 되도록 하였으며, 일주일동안 수조를 안정화 시켰다. 다섯 개의 수조에 Nano-S 및 적토를 각각 0 kg(대조구), 1 kg(수조 A), 2 kg(수조 B), 5 kg(수조 C) and 10 kg(수조 D)채웠으며 이러한 양은 저질의 단위면적($m^2$)당 각각 0 kg(대조구), 2.75 kg(수조 A), 5.51 kg(수조 B), 13.77 kg(수조 C) and 27.55 kg(수조 D)을 차지하였다. 실험은 총 30일 동안 진행했으며, 수질과 저질의 시료는 Nano-S 및 적토의 투입 1시간 전과투입 후 1시간, 3시간, 6시간, 12시간후와 1일, 3일, 5일, 7일, 10일, 15일, 30일후에 각각 채취하여 Nano-S의 투입전후의 수질과 저질의 변동을 분석하였다.

  • This study has investigated the nanotube morphology control of Ti-30Nb-xTa alloys by applied voltages. The morphology changed from small diameter to large diameter with increasing applied voltage, whereas, changed from large diameter to small diameter with decreasing applied voltage.
