NOx 저감을 위한 다공성 광촉매 콘크리트 필터 제조 및 효율평가 (Porous Photocatalytic Concrete Filter Manufacturing and Efficiency Evaluation for NOx Reduction)

  • A porous photocatalyst concrete filter was successfully produced to remove NOx, by mixing TiO2 photocatalyst with lightweight aerated concrete. Ultra Fine Bubbles were used to form continuous pores inside the porous photocatalytic concrete filter, which was mixed via a bubble generation experiment. The optimal mixing condition was determined to be with 4 % of the bubble generation agent B. NO removal specimens were prepared for various photocatalytic loading conditions, and the specimen containing 3 % P-25 removed NO at a concentration of 1.03 µmol in 1 h. The NO removal rate of the porous photocatalytic concrete filter prepared in this study was 10.99 %. This photocatalytic filter performance was more than 9 times the amount of NO removed by a general photocatalytic filter. The porous photocatalyst concrete filter for removing NOx developed in this study can be applied to various construction sites and the air quality can be solved by reducing NOx contributing to the formation of fine particles.

Non-thermal Plasma Process for simultaneous removal of SO2/NOx from a Sintering Plant of Steel Works

  • For the simultaneous removal of $SO_2$/NOx from an iron-ore sintering plant, industrial plasma experiments have been conducted with a flue gas flow rate of $5,000Nm^3/hr$. The maximum 40kW power using the magnetic pulse compression (MPC) system generates a peak value of 100-150kV pulse voltage with its risetime of 200nsec and full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 500nsec, and with a frequency <300Hz. The plasma reactor module adopts a wire-plate structure with a gap of 200-400mm ID between plates. Initial concentrations of $SO_2$ and NOx were around 100-150ppm, respectively in the presence of 15% $O_2$ and <10% $H_2O$. Various reaction parameters such as specific energy ($Whr/Nm^3$), $NH_3$ injection with corona discharge, flow rate and injection of hydrocarbons were investigated for $SO_2$/NOx removal characteristics. About 90/65% of $SO_2$/NOx were simultaneously removed with a specific energy of $3.0Whr/Nm^3$ when both $NH_3$ and hydrocarbons were injected. Practical implications that the pilot-scale plasma results provide are further discussed.

  • 평균입자크기가 200 ${\mu}m$인 코디어라이트 분말을 사용하여 다공성 필터를 제조한 후, 진공함침법으로 $V_2O_5$, CuO, $LaCoO_3$ 촉매를 담지시킨 후 NO와 $SO_2$ 기체를 촉매 담지 세라믹필터에 동시 통과시키면서 NOx/SOx의 동시제거효율을 측정하였다. 제조된 다공성 필터의 기공률은 61.6%였고, 압축강도는 12.3 MPa이었으며, 면속도 5 cm/sec에서의 차압은 147 Pa이었다. NO와 $SO_2$의 동시제거효율을 분석해 본 결과, 페로브스카이트계 $LaCoO_3$ 촉매의 동시제거효율이 가장 우수함을 확인하였으며, $LaCoO_3$ 촉매의 NO에 대한 제거효율은 90% 이상, $SO_2$에 대해서는 80% 이상이었다.

중첩 방전 반응기에 의한 NOx의 분해 특성 (The Characteristics of Decomposition of NOx by Superposing Discharge Plasma Reactor)

  • 본 연구에서는 연소공정에서 발생하는 NOx를 제거하기 위해 연면방전과 AC Corona 방전을 중첩해서 특수설계 제작된 중첩방전 반응기의 방전분해 특성을 연구하였다. 실험은 SPCP, Corona Discharge 및 중첩방전에 대한 NOx의 분해율을 비교 측정하였다. 실험변수는 방전형태, 가스의 농도, 방전주파수, 가스의 유량 등에 대하여 측정하였다. 실험결과 중첩방전에 의한 NOx의 분해율은 SPCP방전고 Corona방전에 의한 분해율보다 10∼15[%] 증가하였고 소모전력도 10[%] 정도 작게 소모되었다. 중첩방전시 상부전극의 주파수의 영향은 주파수가 작을수록 NOx의 분해율이 높았고 하부전극의 SPCP만의 방전시에는 주파수가 높을수록 NOx의 분해율이 증가하였다. 방전형태에 대한 NOx의 최대분해율은 SPCP일 때 방전전력 18[W]에서 80[%] 이었고 AC코로나 방전일 때 방전전력 805[W]에서 10[%] 이었으나 중첩방전의 경우는 14[W]에서 90[%]로 중첩방전의 효과는 10[%]이상 증가하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the removal of nitrogen oxide(NOx) using a wire-plate type plasma reactor with magnet attached for indoor air purification. In order to produce a more effective reactor, we conducted magnetic field simulations. The results of the magnetic field simulations show that NOx can be removed more effectively. The results from the magnetic field simulation show that when 7 magnets were applied to the reactor, the magnetic flux density was at its highest amount than when using 0, 3, or 5 magnets. From the data obtained by the simulation results a plasma reactor was made and thus, several experiments were conducted. The best removal efficiency was obtained with 14 W AC power to the reactor with 5 magnets.

  • A comparative investigation of an experimental and a simulation of chemical kinetics for NOx removal from dielectric barrier discharges is presented. Several types of dielectric barrier discharges were implemented depending upon the configuration of electrodes. The simulation was based on an approximate mathematical model for plasma cleaning of waste gas. The influence of non uniform distributions of species due to the production of primary active particles in the streamer channel was taken into account. A comparison of observed experimental to the calculated removal efficiency of NOx showed acceptable agreement.

  • In this study, the objective is to develope environment friendship mineral pigments for removal of harmful chemical substance. Environment friendship mineral pigments made of Slag blast furnace-photocatalyst carriers were developed to identify their removal effects of NOx, HCHO and VOCs(benzene, Toluene) on sunlight, fluorescent light and UV lamp. In case of NOx at UV light, the eliminative ability was been better than different harmful materials, and it was appeared large degree rather than different harmful materials.

펄스 코로나 방전 공정에서 탈질, 탈황 효율의 실험적 분석 (Experimental Analysis on the Desulfurizarion and Denitrification Efficiencies in Pulsed Corona Discharge Process)

  • In this study, we analyzed $NO_x$ and $SO_x$ removal efficiencies by a pulsed corona discharge process and investigated the effect of several process variables. The removal efficiencies of NO and $SO_2$ were measured changing the process variables of initial concentrations of NO, $H_2O$, and $NH_3$, $SO_2$, applied voltage, pulse frequency and residence time. As the applied voltage or the frequency of applied voltage or the residence time increases, the NO and $SO_2$ removal efficiencies increase. The NO and $SO_2$ removal efficiencies also increase by the addition of $O_2$ or $H_2O$, or by using the large diameter of the discharge electrode. The experimental results can be used as a basis to design the pulsed corona discharge process to remove $NO_x$, $SO_x$ and VOCs.

  • Plasma/catalyst combined reactor was designed to overcome the limits of plasma and catalyst technologies. Optimum reductant and catalyst was selected from screening test. Experiments about the concentrations of reactant and $H_2O$ and the effect of temperature were carried out. Hydrocarbons with double bond such as propylene and so on were more reactive than any other reductants in plasma/catalyst condition. Photocatalyst, especially hombikat >$TiO_2$ with the largest surface area among the catalysts tested, showed the highest DeNOx efficiency in plasma/catalyst reaction. As the concentration of $H_2O$ increased, the removal of NO was enhanced. The increased concentration of >$O_2$ promoted the reaction of NO which was oxidized to$NO_2$.

  • The environment-friendly building material, photocatalyst/scoria/loess concrete, was prepared using scoria and loess (which have merits as building materials) and photocatalyst (which has the functions to compose the environmental contaminants and of self cleaning). In order to apply this material as a building material, the compressive and flexible strengths, and water absorptivity (which have been set by Korea Industrial Standard) were measured. In order to know the environment-friendly characteristics of this material, several tests, such as, the tests of emissivity and emission power of far infrared ray and acoustic absorptivity, antibacterial test for Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, antifungal test for mixed fungal strains, and deodorization test of ammonia were carried out. Moreover, the removal characteristics of NOx, and formaldehyde (HCHO) by photocatalyst/scoria/loess concrete were examined as the following different parameters: the removal characteristics of these contaminants with the substitution ratio and the kind of photocatalyst, light source, UV intensity of sunlight, relative humidity, intial NOx concentration.
