단수 시기가 홍화의 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Water Stress on Growth and Yield in Safflower(Cartamus tinctorius L.))

  • 홍화 생육중 한발이 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 시험을 수행한 결과는 다음과 같다. 경장은 정상 관수구가 127 cm인데 비해 토양 수분장력이 5월초부터 증가하기 시작해 0.5 MPa까지 도달한 생육 중기 단수시는 96 cm로서 31 cm적었으며 경태, 엽수, 분지수 등의 생육도 생육 중기 단수시가 가장 저조하였다. $m^2$당 유효 화두수는 정상 관수구가 244개인데 비해 생육 중기 단수시는 144개로 매우 적었다. 종실 수량은 정상 관수구가 10a 당 353 kg인데 비해 생육 중기 단수시는 222 kg, 토양 수분 장력이 0.54 MPa까지 도달한 생육 후기 단수시는 307 kg으로서 각각 37%, 13% 감소되었다. 홍화 생육중 한발에 따른 피해를 방지하기 위한 적정 관수 시기(0.05 MPa)는 생육 초기(파종시~파종후 30일)는 무강우 후 23일, 생육 중기(파종후 41~70일)는 10일, 생육후기(파종후 81~110일)는 9일로 예측되었으나, 이 결과는 당년의 기상에만 국한된다는 것을 염두에 두어야 한다. 위와 같은 결과에 대한 일반화는 축적된 기상 자료와 증발산량 자료 등에 대한 해석이 있은 추후 연구가 필요하다.

정상교합자의 사춘기성장과 수완부골 성숙단계에 관한 연구 (THE PUBERTAL GROWTH SPURT AND SKELETAL MATURITY STAGES OF THE HAND-AND-WRIST IN NORMAL OCCLUSION)

  • To investigate the relationship between the pubertal spurt in body height and bone maturity of the hand-and-wrist in normal occlusion, the author X-rayed the hand-and-wrists of 1,141 students (male 614, female 527) and assessed their bone maturity. In this study, eleven skeletal stages were selected. The bones used to determine skeletal maturity were the ulnar sesamoid of the metacarpophalangeal joint of the first finger, the epiphyses of the proximal, middle, distal phalanges of the third finger, and middle phalanx of the fifth finger, and distal epiphysis of the radius. From the longitudinal data for height, an assessment was made of the change in growth velocity. The pubertal growth stage was divided into onset and peak height velocity phases. The results were as follows; 1. The onset of the pubertal growth was between the $PP_3=\;and\;MP_3=$ stage for boys, and between the $MP_3=\;and\;MP_5=$ stage for girls; the mean age of onset was 10.6 years for boys and 9.0 years for girls. 2. The peak height velocity was between the S and $MP_{3_{cap}}$ stage for boys, and between the $MP_{3_{cap}}$ and $MP_{5_{cap}}$ stage for girls; the mom age of peak height velocity was 12.5 years for boys and 10.9 years for girls. 3. As the stages of bone maturity progressed from $DP_{3u},\;to\;PP_{3u},\;MP_{3u}$, Ru, the peak height velocity had been reached, and the growth rate retarded, therefore the approach to full physical maturity was attained. 4. The evidence for the period of onset, peak height velocity and bone maturation suggested that girls were in advance of boys. During the latter part of pubertal growth, the rate of boys' bone maturation was faster than that of girls'.

하소분체의 입도조절에 따른 $BaTiO_3$ 요업체의 비정상 입성장거동 (Abnormal Grain Growth Behaviors of $BaTiO_3$ Ceramics with Controlling of Particle Size Distributjion of Calcined Powder)

  • Abnormal grain growth behavior of BaTiO3 ceramics with controlling of particle size distribution of calcined powder was investigated. The particle size distribution was controlled by changing the calcining temperature or by using of classification and regrinding process. With broadening of the normallized size distribution in calcined powder, it showeda normal grain growth behavior in sintered body due to an increase of volume fraction of seed grain in the calcined powder. It was supposed that the seed grains could easily contact each other for the rapid grain growth during sintering process and resulted in fast switching-over from abnormal to normal grain growth stage.

분산분석법을 이용한 AZ31 합금의 피로균열성장에 미치는 시편두께 효과 평가 (Evaluating the Effect of Specimen Thickness on Fatigue Crack Growth in AZ31 Alloy Using ANOVA)

  • This study aims to assess the effects of specimen thickness (ST) on fatigue crack growth in the early stages of crack propagation and near failure in magnesium alloys. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) method was adopted because fatigue crack propagation in magnesium alloys exhibits statistical behavior. The equality of variance test and residual diagnostics were performed on the grown cracks to confirm the validity of ANOVA by verifying the normal distribution and mutual independence of the residuals and their homoscedasticity. ANOVA confirmed that ST heavily impacts crack growth; i.e., when ST is smaller, cracks grow faster in the early crack propagation stage and break more quickly before the formation of larger cracks. We found that ST significantly affects fatigue crack growth in the early crack propagation stage and near the failure stage in magnesium alloys. The regression model was also used to predict crack formation near the failure stage.

반하추출물(半夏抽出物)이 자발적 원형탈모 생쥐와 정상 생쥐의 발모효과에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Studies on the Hair Growth Activity of Extracts of Pinelliae Rhizoma in Spontaneous Alopecia Model and Normal C57BL/6N Mice)

  • This experiment was investigated the effects of fresh and ginger processed Pinelliae Rhizoma extracts on hair growth activity, and its fractions(chloroform, ethyl acetate and water fractions) obtained from fresh Pinelliae Rhizoma on hair growth activity of the normal and spontaneous alopecia areata model of C57BL/6N mice for 16 days. The results were as follows: In fresh Pinelliae Rhizoma extracts treated group, hair growth effect was observed in whole skin area(100%) all the normal mice in whose hair had been clipped on 16th days. In ginger processed Pinelliae Rhizoma extracts treated group, hair growth effect was observed in whole skin area in 25% of normal mice in whose hair had been clipped on 16th days. But in control group, hair growth effect was observed in a part of whole skin area in 25% of normal mice. In fresh Pinelliae Rhizoma extracts treated group, hair follicles of middle stage of anagen phase was observed and it were grown down to subcutaneous tissue of skin in all the mice on 10th day. But in ginger processed Pinelliae Rhizoma extracts treated group and control group, Most of hair follicles of telogen phase was observed in skin. The treatment of extracts of fresh Pinelliae Rhizoma increased the expression of TGF-$\beta$(146%), IGF(107%), and prolactin(115%) in the skin of normal C57BL/6N mice compared to control group(100%). But expression of placenta lactogen(93%) was decreased in the skin of normal C57BL/6N mice compared to control group(100%). In spontaneous alopecia model, The hair growth activity of fresh Pinelliae Rhizoma extracts treated group(100%) was observed to be strong compared with the control group(20%) on 15th day. Hair growth activity on chloroform fractions of fresh Pinelliae Rhizoma extracts was observed in whole skin area in 75% of normal mice on the 9th day. In water and ethyl acetate fractions, hair growth activity was observed in a part of whole skin in 75% and 25% of normal mice, respectively. but hair growth activity of control group was not observed. After application of fractions of fresh Pinelliae Rhizoma extracts for 10 days, hair follicles of chloroform fraction treated group was observed middle stage of anagen phase and hair follicle were grown down to subcutaneous tissue of skin in all the mice. But hair follicles of initial stage of anagen phase were observed in water and ethyl acetate fractions. Most of hair follicles of telogen phase was observed in skin of control group. These experiments suggest that extracts of fresh Pinelliae Rhizoma may stimulate the topical hair growth activity and its chloroform fractions can be useful for treatment of alopecia areata.

  • 생식생장기 관개수온과 수심을 달리한 물관리방법이 Source와 Sink 관련형질의 생육 및 무기성분조성에 미치는 영향을 구명하였던 바 다음과 같은 몇가지 결과를 얻었다. 1. 보통관개수에 의한 심수관개는 간장, 수장, 추출도를 신장시켰으나 냉수관개는 역의 관계를 나타내었고 냉수관개수심 5 cm는 감수분열기, 20 cm 심수는 유수형성기에 신장단축이 현저하였다. 2. 보통관개수에 의한 심수관개는 지경과 영화의 착생수 증대 및 퇴화를 경감시켰으나 냉수관개는이들의 착생수 감소 및 퇴화를 조장시켰고, 그 경향은 심수관개와 유수형성기 심수관개에서 현저하였으며 불임율과 등숙비율도 유수형성기에 냉수로 심수관개 할수록 피해가 급증하였다. 3. 식물체의 무기성분조성은 보통관개수로 심수관개 할수록 체내의 전질소 및 인산, 가리, 규산함량이 높았으나 냉수관개는 전규소함양을 높이고 인산, 가리, 규산의 흡수를 억제시켰는데 그 경향은 심수관개에서 현저하였다. 4. 인질비, 가리질비, 규질비는 상수관개보다 냉수로 심수관개 할수록 현저히 낮았고 조성비로 보아 지경은 엽신, 영곡보다 인산, 가리, 규산의 요구양이 많았다. 엽신, 지경, 영곡의 규질비와 수량과는 정의 유의상관이 있었고 엽신, 영곡에 비하여 지경의 규질비가 수량과 밀접한 관계가 있었다.

Clinical approach to quality of life in children with end-stage renal disease

  • Quality of life in addition to various medical problems in children with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) should be objectively assessed to accomplish normal growth and development during childhood. However, unfortunately, studies of quality of life (QoL) in children with ESRD have been not popular yet and there are only fewer suitable assessment tools compared with adults. Recently, disease-specific modules to evaluate QoL in children with chronic disease such as ESRD have been developed. This review was made to introduce these QoL instruments for children and help the clinical application of them.

  • 혼합치열기 정상교합 아동 24명(남:14명, 여:10명, 초진 시 평균 나이 9${\pm}$1.3세, 평균 관찰 기간: 13${\pm}$1.3개월)에 대한 성장량을 측정하여 기능적 교정장치의 순수 치료효과를 평가하는데 도움이 되기 위해 3회(5${\sim}$8개월 간격) 촬영한 측모 두부방사선 규격 사진에 대한 분석 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 남아는 상악골은 전하방, 하악골은 전방성장하였고, 여아는 상하악골이 전하방 성장하였다(p<0.05). 2. 상하악골의 남녀간 차이에서 수평적 성장상태는 여아가 컸고(A point 여아: 2.39mm, 남아: 1.26mm, p<0.05), 수직적 성장상태는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 3. 상악 전치의 치축은 두개저에 대해서 순측 경사하였고(p<0.01) 하악 전치의 치축은 큰 변화가 없었다.

  • The effect of potassium metabolism on the soybean leaves was studied with comparison of other elements during the successive growing period. The results were as follows; 1. The percentage of potassium content showed remarkable increase not only in the first compound leaf at a stage which was growing vigorously and producing new leaves, but also in the fifth compound leaf at a stage which was taking a active metabolism of nitrogen and carbohydrate but not producing new leaves. However, the percentage of potassium content was decreased in the second compound leaf than in the first one. Such a result could be regarded as a potassium removal from mature leaves into immature and flowing out from stoma through respiration. During the pod-development the percentage of potassium content in the soybean leaf was decreased. 2. If nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were added excessively in the nutrient solution, the percentage of potassium content in the soybean leaf had increased. The effects of these elements showed a remakable increase in the excessive plot of nitrogen than in that of phosphorus. At early stage the redtarded effect of phosphorus on the growth of soybean could be covered by potassium, however, at late stage it could not. The growth of soybean plant was much more inhibited by potassium, compared with nitrogen and phosphorus. New leaves could not be produced in the potassium deficient soybean plant after the third compound leaf. The normal growth of soybean plant could not be observed if only one element was excessively added to the culture solution, compared with the deficiency of other two elements.

고평균하중을 고려한 구조응력 기반의 피로균열성장 모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fatigue Crack Growth Model Considering High Mean Loading Effects Based on Structural Stress)

  • The mesh-insensitive structural stress procedure by Dong is modified to apply to the welded joints with local thickness variation and inignorable shear/normal stresses along local discontinuity surface. In order to make use of the structural stress based K solution for fatigue correlation of welded joints, a proper crack growth model needs to be developed. There exist some significant discrepancies in inferring the slope or crack growth exponent in the conventional Paris law regime. Two-stage crack growth model was not considered since its applications are focused upon the fatigue behavior in welded joints in which the load ratio effects are considered negligible. In this paper, a two-stage crack growth law considering high mean loading is proposed and proven to be effective in unifying the so-called anomalous short crack growth data.
