Paraelectric-Ferroelectric Phase Transition of (NH4)2SO4 Single Crystals by 14N NMR

  • The $^{14}N$ NMR spectra for $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ crystals were obtained near the phase transition temperature $T_C=223K$, and were found to precisely reflect the symmetry change in the crystal at this first-order phase transition. Changes in the resonance frequencies near $T_C$ were attributed to the structural phase transition. In the ferroelectric and paraelectric phases, two inequivalent NH4 groups were distinguished in the $^{14}N$ NMR spectra. The two types, $NH_4$(1) and $NH_4$(2), have slightly different local environments. Consequently, we conclude that the phase transition is caused by the change in the environment of the $^{14}N$ nuclei in the $NH_4$ groups, rather than by the $SO_4$ groups.

농도(濃度)가 다른 여러가지 질소원(窒素源) 양분용액(養分溶液)이 배추와 상치 종자발아(種子發芽)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Different Nitrogen Solution Varying Concentration on Seed Germination of Vegetable Crops(Brassica rapa L., Lactuca sativa L.))

  • 질소염(窒素鹽)들의($(NH_4)_2SO_4$, $NH_4NO_3$, $KNO_3$, $Mg(NO_3)_2$, $Ca(NO_3)_2$, $(NH_2)_2CO$) 농도별(濃度別) 염강도(鹽强度)를 비교하고 영양액연속유출경사사경재배장치(營養液連續流出傾斜砂耕栽培裝置)를 이용하여 배추와 상치에 대한 발아장해정도(發芽障害程度)를 조사하였다. 그람분자량으로 동일농도(同一濃度)의 EC(electrical conductivity, mS/cm)를 측정한 결과 황산암몬은 1가염(價鹽)의 2배수준(倍水準)을 나타냈으나 질산고토, 질산석회는 1.5배정도 이었고 요소(尿素)는 전연 측정되지 않았다. 그리고 동일백분률(同一百分率) 농도(濃度)에서는 황산암몬(1.37)>질산암몬(1.22)>질산칼리(1.0)>질산석회(0.72)>질산고토(0.64)의 순(順)으로 EC치의 비율을 보였다. 배추와 상치의 발아에 가장 심한 장해를 주는 염(鹽)은 질산고토, 황산암몬이었으며 질산암몬도 질산칼리에 비하여 장해정도가 컸고 요소(尿素)는 질산칼리, 질산석회와 같이 가장 낮은 영향을 주었으나 농도가 짙어지면서 질산칼리, 질산석회도 장해를 나타냈다. 그리고 상치가 배추보다 발아장해에 더 예민한 편이었다. 발아장해(發芽障害)는 염농도(鹽濃度)보다 질소염(窒素鹽)의 종류(種類)에 더 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The frameworks of $(Cu(NH_3)_3OH^+)_x(NH_4^+)_{12-x}-A{\cdot} zH_2O$ which were prepared by the ion-exchange of zeolite A with ammoniac cupric nitrate solution are more stable than those of $Cu_xNa_{12-2x} -A$ obtained by the ion exchange with aqueous cupric nitrate solution are more stable than those of $Cu_xNa_{12-2x} -A$ obtained by the ion exchange with aqueous cupric nitrate solution. An energetic calculation was made on the relatively stable $(CuOH^+)_2(NH_4^+)_{10}-A{\cdot} 2H_2O$ prepared by the partial evacuation of $(Cu(NH_3)_3OH^+)_2(NH_4^+)_{10}-A{\cdot} zH_2O$. The mean stabilization energies of water, OH-, and $NH_4^+$ ions are -30.23 kcal/mol, -60.24 kcal/mol, and -16.65 kcal/mol, respectively. The results of calculation were discussed in terms of framework stability. The $(Cu(NH_3)_3OH^+)_2(NH_4^+)_{10}-A{\cdot} zH_2O$ zeolite shows two step deammoniation reactions. The first deammoniation around 210 $^{\circ}$C (third DSC peak) was attributed to the decomposition of $[Cu(NH_3)_3OH^+]$ ion and the second one around 380 $^{\circ}$C (fourth DSC peak) was ascribed to the decomposition of $NH_4^+$ ion. The activation energies of the first and second deammoniation reactions were 99.75 kJ/mol and 176.57 kJ/mol, respectively.

서울시 대기중 입자상 오염물질의 조성에 관한 연구 (Ionic composition of aerosol particles under urban atmospheres of Seoul, Korea)

  • In order to understand the relative importance of various pathways leading to the production and transformation of aerosols under different atmospheric conditions, the behavior of atmospheric aerosols have been investigated using a high volume tape sample in Seoul for a week period during August 1990. The concentrations of anion $(SO^{2-}_4, NO^-_3, CI^-)$ and cation $(Ca^{2+}, Na^+, NH^+_4)$ species of aerosol samples were analyzed to identify the ionic composition of aerosols and to estimate their relative contributions to aerosol formation. The concentrations of aerosol species were calculated by a multiple regression model. The results of our calculations indicate the existence of various chemical species such as $(NH_4)_2SO_4, Na_2SO_4, CaSO_4, NH_4NO_3, NaNO_3, Ca(NO_3)_2, NH_4Cl$, and NaCl salts. According to our calculations, the most dominant species of aerosol was $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ with the mean concentration of 23.3 $/mu g/m^3$ (66.9%). The proportion of different componts with aerosol (e.g., $NH_4NO_3$ and $NH_4Cl$) was strongly affected by temperature, relative humidity, and partial presure of gases.

  • 질소원(窒素源)을 달리한 배양액(培養液)으로 담배식물의 양분흡수와 생육반응을 조사한 결과 1. $NO_3-N$ 배양액에서 자란식물은 양분 흡수가 크게 촉진되었다. $NH_4-N$ 배양액에서 자란식물보다 $NO_3-N$의 흡수로 무기양(無機陽)이온의 흡수가 현저하게 증가되었고 그중 K의 흡수가 가장컷으며 처리직후부터 빠른 흡수속도로 총질소(總窒素)는 2배(倍), K, Ca, Mg는 모두 3배 이상 높았다. 그리고 $NO_3+NH_4$ 혼합배양액(混合培養液)에서는 $NO_3-N$ 선택흡수(選擇吸收)되는 경향을 보였다. 2. 담배식물이 자란 배양액의 산도(酸度)는 질소원별로 상이(相異)하여 $NO_3-N$ 배양액은 알카리쪽으로 미미하게 변하지만 $NH_4-N$ 배양액에서 산성(酸性)쪽으로 큰 변화를 나타냈고 $NO_3+NH_4$ 혼합액(混合液)도 산성(酸性)쪽으로 변하지만 $NH_4-N$단독배양액보다는 크지 않았다. 3. 담배식물의 생육반응은 $NO_3-N$ 배양액에서 가장 양호하게 나타났으나 $NH_4{^+}$을 함유한 배양액에서는 생육이 부진하였으며 특히 $NH_4-N$ 단독배양액에서는 생육이 거의 정지되었다.

Effect of Nitrogen Source on Cell Growth and Anthocyanin Production in Callus and Cell Suspension Culture of 'Sheridan' Grapes

  • To establish in vitro mass production system of grape anthocyanin pigments through callus and cell suspension culture, the effects of nitrogen amount and the ratio of $NO_3^-$/$NH_4^+$ in the medium on cell growth and anthocyanin production were investigated. Total nitrogen amount and the ratio of $NO_3^-$/$NH_4^+$ in the medium strongly affected anthocyanin production and cell growth. When $NH_4^+$ was fixed, the cell growth was promoted by 50 mM total nitrogen (20 mM $NO_3^-$ : 30 mM $NH_4^+$ ) than other nitrogen combinations, and was strongly inhibited when $NO_3^-$ was lacking (0 mM $NO_3^-$ : 60 mM $NH_4^+$ ) while anthocyanin production was increased. When $NO_3^-$ was fixed, the cell growth was promoted by 70 mM total nitrogen (40 mM $NO_3^-$ : 30 mM $NH_4^+$) than other nitrogen combinations, and was strongly inhibited when $NO_3^-$ was lacking (0 mM $NO_3^-$ : 60 mM $NH_4^+$ ) while anthocyanin production was increased. Cell growth was gradually increased by all nitrogen combinations, but anthocyanin production reached its peak on day 4 in culture. Anthocyanin content increased with decreasing cell density. Sucrose was rapidly hydrolyzed to fructose and glucose within 4 days. Glucose and fructose concentrations in the medium increased and peaked at the 4th day. The anthocyanin content of $NH_4^+$-free 2% sucrose media was 2 times (200 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g) higher than that of 1% sucrose. When $NO_3^-$ was lacking, the highest anthocyanin production was observed at 4% sucrose after 12 days of culture, and increased along with the sucrose concentration.

유연탄 Fly ash로부터 합성한 제올라이트 4A의 암모늄 이온교환 특성 (Characteristics of Ammonium ion-exchange of Zeolit 4A synthesized from Coal Fly Ash)

  • A study on the synthesis of zeolite from coal fly ash from power plant was carried out to reduce environmental problems and reuse industrial waste. The synthesized zeolite was proved to be Zeolite 4A type by means of the XRD and SEM analysis, and then the synthesized zeolite was used as an absorbent to remove the $NH_4^+$ ions in the wastewater and water. In the ion exchange of single $NH_4^+$ ions by the natural zeolite and the synthesized zeolite, the ion exchange reached equilibrium within 10 min. and 1hr, respectively. The amount of ion exchanged $NH_4^+$ to the unit weight of natural zeolite and zeolite 4A were 1.09 and 3.54 meq/g respectively, and the amount of $NH_4$ ion exchanged by the synthesized zeolite was higher than by the natural zeolite. The ion exchange kinetics fitted very well to the Feundlich and Langmuir isotherm. The effects of coexisting cations on the ion-exchange properties of zeolites were studied in order to apply them to water treatment. In the bisolute-system of the $NH_4^+-K^+$ and $NH_4^+-Na^+$ systems, the ion exchange capacity was smaller than the single $NH_4^+$ ion system. The effects of coexisting cations on the ion exchange system by the natural zeolite and the synthesized zeolite were found to be $K^+>Na^+$ and $Na^+>K^+>>Mg^{2+}>Ca^{2+}$, respectively.

Effect of Ruminal NH3-N Levels on Ruminal Fermentation, Purine Derivatives, Digestibility and Rice Straw Intake in Swamp Buffaloes

  • The experiment was aimed at studying the effect of ruminal $NH_3-N$ levels on ruminal fermentation, microbial population, urinary purine derivative excretion, digestibility and rice straw intake in swamp buffaloes. Five, 3 to 4 years old, rumen fistulated swamp buffaloes were randomly assigned according to a $5{\times}5$ Latin square design to rceive five different intraruminal infusions of $NH_4HCO_3$ (0, 150, 300, 450 and 600 g/d) on a continuous daily basis. Rice straw as a roughage was offered ad libitum while concentrate was given at 0.8% BW daily. The results were that as levels of $NH_4HCO_3$ increased, ruminal $NH_3-N$ concentrations increased from 7.1 to 34.4 mg%. The highest digestibility and voluntary straw intakes were found at 13.6 to 17.6 mg% ruminal $NH_3-N$ levels; straw intake was highest at 13.6 mg%. Total bacterial and protozoal counts linearly increased as the ruminal $NH_3-N$ increased and were highest at 17.6 mg%. Total urinary purine derivatives and allantoin excretion were highest (44.0, 37.4 mM/d) at 17.6 mg% ruminal $NH_3-N$. Highest total VFAs (115 mM) were obtained a 13.6 mg% ruminal $NH_3-N$ while blood urea nitrogen significantly increased as ruminal $NH_3-N$ increased. The results from this experiment suggest that optimum ruminal $NH_3-N$ in swamp buffaloes is higher than 13.6 mg%, for improving rumen ecology, microbial protein synthesis, digestibility and straw intake.

높은 전기 전도성을 갖는 가용성 폴리피롤 합성 및 특성 (Synthesis and Characterization of Soluble Polypyrrole with High Conductivity)

  • 기능성 도핑제인 혼합 도판트[sodium di(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate(DEHSNa) Naphthalenesulfonic acid (NSA), DEHSNa Toluensulfonic acid (TSA), DEHSNa Dodecylbenzensulfonic acid (DBSA)], 혼합 산화제[$(NH_4)_2S_2O_8{\cdot}FeCl_3$, $(NH_4)_2S_2O_8{\cdot}Fe_2(SO_4)_3$]을 사용하여 높은 전기전도도를 갖는 유기용매에 가용성인 폴리피롤을 합성하였다. 산화제로 $(NH_4)_2S_2O_8$ (10wt%/vol.)을 사용한 Ppy-DEHS 분말은 혼합 도판트(DEHSNa NSA, 3 wt%/vol.)와 혼합 산화제[$(NH_4)_2S_2O_8{\cdot}Fe_2(SO_4)_3$, 4 wt%/vol.]을 사용한 경우보다 극성 용매(DMF)에서 높은 용해도를 나타내었다. 그러나, DMF 용매에서 제조된 혼합 도판트[DEHSNa NSA, 16 S/cm]와 혼합 산화제[$(NH_4)_2S_2O_8{\cdot}FeCl_3$, 13 S/cm]을 사용한 Ppy-DEHS 필름의 전기전도도는 $(NH_4)_2S_2O_8$ (2 S/cm)을 사용한 경우보다 더 높게 나타났다. 다양한 조건에서 제조된 Ppy-DEHS 필름의 전하전달은 모두 3차원 VRH mode{$\{{\sigma}_{dc}(T)={\sigma}_oexp[-(T_o/T)^{1/4}]\}$에 부합하였다.

  • 본 연구의 오핵 착물은 몰리브덴(VI)과 텅스텐(VI)의 다핵 착물, 몰리브덴(O)과 텅스텐(O)의 디니트로실 단핵 착물 및 티오메틸아미드옥심의 반응에서 얻었다. 합성한 착물$(n-Bu_4N)_2[Mo_4O_{12}Mo(NO)_{2}{CH_3SCH_2C(NH_2)NHO}_2{CH_3SCH_2C(NH)NO}_2]$ (1), $(n-Bu_4N)_2[W_4O_{12}Mo(NO)_2{CH_3SCH_2C(NH_2)NHO}_2{CH_3SCH_2C(NH)NO}_2]$ (2) $(n-Bu_4N)_2[Mo_4O_{12}Mo(NO)_2{CH_3SCH_2C(NH_2)NHO}_2{CH_3SCH_2C(NH)NO}_2]$ (3)은 원소 분석, 적외선, 전자 흡수 및 $^1/H\;NMR$ 스펙트라에 의해 특성을 조사하였다. 착물의 분광학적인 연구는 시스-${M(NO)_2}^{2+}$(M=Mo, W) 단위체 및 착물의 적은 비편재화 존재를 알 수 있다. 합성한 착물$(n-Bu_4N)_2\;[W_4O_{12}Mo(NO)_2{CH_3SCH_2C(NH_2)NHO}_2{CH_3SCH_2C(NH)NO}_2]$ (2)은 X-선 단결정 회절에서 결정구조를 밝혔고, 얻은 데이타는 Monoclinic, $P2_1/a,\;a\;=\;22.14(2){\angs},\;b\;=\;14093(1){\angs},\;{\beta}\;=\;111.08(6){\deg},\;V\;=\;7155(9){\angs}^3,$ Z = 4이었다. 구조 결정에 이용한 회절강도 6191개($I>3{\sigma}(I)$)에 대한 최종 신뢰도 인자는 0.072 이었다. 물질의 골격구조는 텅스텐의 산화상태 6가로 구성된 두 개의 이핵체 $[W_2O_5{CH_3SCH_2C(NH_2)NHO}\;{CH_3SCH_2C(NH)NO}]$와 몰리브덴의 산화상태 0가인 ${Mo(NO)_2}6{2+}$로 형성되어 있다. ${M(NO)_2}^{2+}$(M = Mo, W) 단위체는 형식상 시스 형태이며 기하학적으로 $C_{2v}$ 대칭을 가진다.
