The purpose of this study was to derive exotic products handled by Bon Marche department store, examine characteristics, and reveal the meaning of exotic taste in the 19th century. The research method is literature research centered on original materials of the time, such as old literature related to department stores, and films, newspapers, magazines, and periodicals as well as books and papers. Commercial catalogs and Agenda-Buvard published by Bon Marché were used as visual materials. Results are as follows. Exotic tastes of products of the Bon Marche department store in the late 19th century showed an oriental style centered on Persia, India, China, and Japan. Products from various regions such as Turkey, Spain, Algeria, Tunisia, England, Italy, and Russia were also accepted. These exotic tastes had the following contributions and meanings. First, they expanded items and product development and activated domestic industry through production of imitations and replicas. Second, before the advent of department stores, foreign items that came to Europe were exclusive properties of a few privileged classes. However, in the late 19th century, as the number of consumers who wanted to have a new status higher than themselves increased, exotic products of the Bon Marche department store became the object of desire for material pursuits toward the upper class rather than sentimental fantasies. Third, exotic tastes gradually spread to the public as production of products imitating foreign products became possible industrially with an easy access to them. From this, it can be seen that department stores were mediators of trends and the epicenter of popularizing exotic tastes.
Background: Smoking is a primary risk factor for cancer development. While most research has focused on smoking cigarettes, the increasing popularity of shisha or water pipe smoking has received less attention. This study measured the prevalence and risk factors for shisha and cigarette smoking and related knowledge. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional analytical study was conducted in Shah Alam, Malaysia. Participants aged ${\geq}18years$ were selected from restaurants. Data regarding demographic variables, smoking patterns, and knowledge about shisha smoking were collected in local languages. Logistic regression was performed to assess risk factors. Results: Of 239 participants, 61.9 % were male and 99.2% revealed their smoking status. Some 57.4% were smokers: 50.7% only cigarettes, 5.9% only shisha and 42% both. Mean age of starting cigarette smoking was $17.5{\pm}2.4years$ and for shisha smoking $18.7{\pm}2.0years$. In a univariate model, male gender, age 33-52 years and monthly income > MYR 4,000 increased the risk and unemployment and being a student decreased the risk. In a multivariate model, male gender increased the risk of smoking, while being a student decreased the risk, adjusting for age and income. The perception of shisha being less harmful than cigarettes was present in 14.6% and 7.5% had the opinion that shisha is not harmful at all, while 21.7% said that it is less addictive than cigarettes, 39.7% said that shisha did not contain tar and nicotine, 34.3% said that it did not contain carbon monoxide and 24.3% thought that shisha did not cause health problems. Conclusions: Prevalence of shisha and cigarette smoking is high in the general population in Malaysia and knowledge about shisha smoking is relatively low. The findings of our study might have implications for understanding similarities and differences in incidence of shisha and cigarette smoking in other cultural/geographic regions.

A new tongue examination model by using color analysis according to the taste division of tongue. The proposed system consists of a tongue image acquisition in a predefined template, taste region segmentation, color distribution analysis and abnormality decision of tongue by color analysis using Hue-Saturation histograms and the part of a mobile application service. We divided 4 basic taste(bitter, sweet, salty and sour) regions and performed color distribution analysis targeting each region under HSI(Hue Saturation Intensity) color model. To minimize the influence of illumination, the histograms of H and S components only except U are utilized. Using the analyzed results, the abnormality is discriminated by the criteria of the histogram range of normal tongues. Finally, a self tongue diagnosis system which can be used anytime and anywhere on mobile environment.

Moraceae comprise a large family of sixty genera and neary 1,400 specieses, including important groups such as Artocarpus, Morus, and Ficus. In particular, Morus(mulberry) is a small genus of tree and shrubs found in temperate and subtropical regions of the Northern hemishere and has been widely cultivated in China and Korea, In addition, the root bark of mulberry tree have been used as an antiphlogic, diuretic, and expectorant in white medicine, and the crude drug is known as "Sangbaikpi" in Korea. Recently, some papers have been published reporting the hypotensive effect, antiviral effect, antifungal effect, inhibitory effect of cAMP-phosphodiesterase, and anticancer effect of this extract. Little is known about that Cortex mori could have been an antiallergic effect. The purpose of this study was the development of an antiallergic agent with an antiallergic effect from Cortex mori. For this, several in vivo and in vitro experimental models were used. Results are 1) Cortex mori inhibited the compound 48/80-induced degranu-lation, histamine release and calcium uptake of rat peritoneal mast cells, 2) compound 48/80-induced anaphylactic shock and cutaneous reaction were significantly inhibited by pretreatment of Cortex mori, and 3) Cortex mori inhibited the ovalbumin-induced late astmatic reaction. From the above results it is suggested that Cortex mori has some substances with an antiallergic activity. Our final purpose of this study is to develope the new drug with an antiallergic activity from Cortex mori

In this paper, as the culture industry rises as the new scale of the nation's competivity. it is moving from the national standard to regional standard, and the demands of the regions and People for the culture industry, also known as the entertainment industry, are increasing. Also, the study executed an empirical analysis on region리 approaches and efficiency of the approaches for the development of culture industry in Korea. The followings show the summarized results of the study. The culture is changed by the social and economical conditions, and the culture industry is changed by changes in culture consumers and introduction of cultural policies. Under the social conditions, the rise of mass culture in big cities appear as the influencive factors and the rise of mass culture in small ton also work as the influencive factors but the people of the small towns emphasize the culture lifestyles. The shows that the big cities emphasize the masses but on the other hand, the small towns emphasize the lifestyles. Under the economical conditions, the diversification of culture distributions, culture commercialization, and culture cluster show to be the influencive factors in the big cities. Even in the small towns, the diversification of culture distributions and culture commercialization work as the influencive factors but the culture cluster could not have any influences.
Purpose - With the worldwide aging problem and the development of globalization, customers prefer to seek affordable medical services with the higher quality overseas. This new trend has urged some destination countries to improve their services for the more competitive advantages over other countries. Literature research indicate that medical quality and cost may be the key factors influencing global patients' decisions. In the international environment, however, medical tourism destinations are selected due to cultural similarity between the hosting country and the customers' own country. The more similarity perceived between the two countries leads foreign patients to choose the considering country as the destination for medical tourism. However, little research has been conducted on this topic. Thus, we empirically investigate how cultural similarity influences Chinese medical customers' choice of the destinations. We also consider the factors related to medical competency and travel attribute which might affect customers' decisions along with some moderating roles of disease types. Research design, data, and methodology - We proposed a research model in order to confirm the relations among different variables of cultural similarity, medical competency, travel attractiveness, disease types, and destination choice. The questionnaire survey is processed in the more economically developed regions of China such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Jiangsu. Conditional logit regression is applied to analyze the data of 881. Results - Results indicate that cultural similarity is the important predictor of Chinese customers' decision to select a medical country. However, the effects of cultural similarity vary according to the disease types. We also find that medical competency and travel attractiveness influence their decisions with the moderating role of disease types. Conclusions - Cultural similarity is the important factor that influences Chinese potential medical tourists' decisions to select a destination. Marketing managers should consider the effects of cultural similarity when developing strategies for attracting Chinese medical tourists. Since medical competency and travel attractiveness are still the critical key elements for them to evaluate the destination countries, it is necessary to continuously improve medical service quality and facilities. The results also recommend that medical managers should sharpen their marketing strategies by segmenting Chinese potential customers in terms of disease types.

Recently, the medical image has been digitized by the development of computer science and digitization of the medical devices. There are needs for database service of the medical image and long term storage because of the construction of PACS(picture archiving and communication system) following DICOM(digital imaging communications in medicine) standards, telemedicine, and et al. However, it also caused some kinds of problems, such as illegal reproduction of medical image, proprietary rights and data authentication. In this paper, we propose the new digital watermarking technique for medical image based on public key encryption algorithm for integrity verification. It prevents illegal forgery that can be caused after transmitting medical image data remotely. The watermark is the value of bit-plane in wavelet transform of the original image for certification method of integrity verification. We proposed the embedding regions are randomly chosen considering ROI, and a digital signature is made using hash function of MD5 which input is a secret key. The experimental results show that the watermark embedded by the proposed algorithm can survive successfully in image processing operations and that the watermark's invisibility is good.
The creative class is the class of workers whose job is to create meaningful new forms. Recently, much attention has been focused on the role of the creative class in regional development. Many policy makers have invested to amenities to attract more creative class into their cities or regions for regional economic growth. However, there are only a few studies about the migration of the creative class in Korea. The purpose of this study is to make an analysis of the movement of the creative class by using the 17th Korean Labor & Income Panel Study. According to empirical results, the creative class are more likely to move than the non-creative class. The characteristic of creative class who moved is related to married man aged 20s and 30s without own house. Also, there is the difference between determinants of migration of the creative class and the non-creative class. It was founded that the most important determinants of migration of the creative class are housing related reasons such as home ownership and job reasons. Relationship, convenient facilities are not important factors when the creative class make a decision to move.

Image segmentation technique is becoming increasingly important in the field of remote sensing image analysis in areas such as object oriented image classification to extract object regions of interest within images. This paper presents a new method for image segmentation to consider spectral and spatial information of high resolution satellite image. Firstly, the initial seeds were automatically selected using local variation of multi-spectral edge information. After automatic selection of significant seeds, a segmentation was achieved by applying MSRG which determines the priority of region growing using information drawn from similarity between the extracted each seed and its neighboring points. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, the results obtained using the proposed method were compared with the results obtained using conventional region growing and watershed method. The quantitative comparison was done using the unsupervised objective evaluation method and the object-based classification result. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method has good potential for application in the object-based analysis of high resolution satellite images.
Recently, construction of housing sites, complexes, roads, ports and airports is increasing for high-intensity use of the country and balanced development between regions. Presently, constructions are being conducted at soft ground. Consequently, engineering problems as long-term settlement of the ground, differential settlement, local structural damage have been reported consistently at construction site. In particular, long-term subsidence of the ground as various constructions and loads by the load will necessarily occur in the soft ground of west-south coast and inland coast. Therefore, in this study, regional proper analysis methods of the Hyperbole method, Hosino method, $\sqrt{S}$ method, Asaoka method etc as existing long-term settlement prediction methods have been examined and a study on new prediction method was conducted through deduction of a generalized equation. Correlation coefficients of soil properties and construction conditions has been analyzed and a matching coefficient of long-term settlement characteristics has been deducted. Comparison and analysis of monitoring data and numerical analysis results of 16 local area have been conducted.
