Synthesis and Properties of Polyester System Polyurethane without Solvent (무용제 반응에 의한 폴리에스테르계 폴리우레탄의 합성 및 특성)

  • Polyurethanes(PUs) were synthesized by reaction of isophorone diisocyanate, acetylbutyl citrate, and 3 types of polycaprolactone diol. Their structures were confirmed by FT-IR and NMR spectrometer. And, their thermal and mechanical properties were measured by TGA ud UTM. The effective network chain lengths ($\bar{M}_c$), measured by compressive modulus apparatus, were about $8000\~24000$ g/mol. As crosslinking density and amount of hard segment increased, tensile strength increased and elongation decreased. As the crosslinking density of PUs increased, thermal property inproved. When the ratio of NCO/OH is 1.1, maximum crosslinking density was achieved.

Formation of Spheroids of Adult Rat Primary Hepatocytes in Polyurethane Foam (폴리우레탄 폼을 이용한 쥐 일차 간세포의 구상체 배양)

  • This paper is fundamental study to develope the extracorporeal liver support system for patient with fulminant hepatic failure(FHF) or being expected for orthotopic liver transplantation. The polyurethane foam, which is composed of the density of 33kg/m3, the average pore diameter of 500${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, the closed window of 60-70%, was manufactured with the prepolymer of 15% NCO-, Hepatocytes were inoculated to form spheroids in polyurethane foam. The time of spheroid formation in BSA(Bovine Serum Albumin) coated polyurethane foam was shorter than that in raw polyurethane foam. To verify the function of hepatocyte spheroids, we measured ammonia removal rate, urea and albumin secretion rate. Polyurethane foam was suitable for culture of hepatocyte spheroids. And culture of hepatocyte spheroids in polyurethane foam has high possibility in using as an extracorporeal liver support system.

Effect of PPG, MDI, 2-HEMA and butyl acrylate content on the properties of polyurethane adhesive (폴리우레탄 접착제의 물성에 미치는 PPG, MDI, 2-HEMA 및 butyl acrylate량의 영향)

  • FT-IR measurement and the physical properties of polyurethane adhesive prepared from the polyol, isocyanate, 2-HEMA and other acrylate monomers were examined. The softening point, viscosity, adhesion strength and mechanical properties of the PU adhesives were reviewed by Ring and Ball method, Brookfield viscometer and universal test machine, respectively. Results revealed that increment of both PPG amount and butyl acrylate content decreased softening point, adhesion strength, tensile strength and 100% modulus. However as 2-HEMA and MDI content increased the mechanical properties including tensile strength, 100% modulus increased, and also the viscosity and NCO content increased.

  • This study was carried out to prepare a type of warm mix asphalt. Through urethane foam and emulsion asphalt preparation techniques a protocol of asphalt foam was made. Then three kinds of flame retardant agents were added in there to alleviate the inherent susceptability of asphalt and foam material to flame and thus flame retardant asphalt foam was made. The internal structure of form asphalt was composed of open cell. The higher the NCO% brought the larger the cell and the stronger also. Asphalt increased the strength of the foam. Among the flame retardant agents employed tritorylphosphate was the most effective.

  • This paper is on the user equipment (UE) side time tracker design and implementation of the wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) system. The time tracker is constructed as a second order closed loop including time error detector (TED), loop filter (LP), numerically controlled oscillator (NCO), and sample selector (SS). Through the simulation, we found the gain of the TED as a function of the CPICH power contribution to the total transmission power of the base station. Also we derived the transfer function of the loop and the BER versus DPCH power relationships where timing offsets and loop noise bandwidths are used as parameters. In the curve, we can conclude that there are appropriate loop noise bandwidths according to the given environments for the better performance.

  • The relationship between chemical structure and antifungal activity of benzene ring substituents of 1-phenylpyrrolidine-2,5-diones is studied by testing of model compounds and use of conformational data. The analysis revealed a number of structural features as essential for the antifungal effect: (1) the presence of an intact-NCO group and benzene moiety; (2) the distance between para substituents and the N atom within the 5.318∼5.320 ${\AA}$ range; (3) the distance between substituent X3 and X5 in the interval 5.437∼6.072 ${\AA}$ for the active analogues. And other parameters were discussed.

Research on the Waveform Generator Technology for the SAR Payload

  • Digital waveform generation technology for SAR payload can be divided into DDS(Direct Digital Synthesizer) method and Memory Mapped(M/M) method. DDS is the single chip which consists of the Sine Table, NCO(Numerically Controlled Oscillator), DAC, and so on. DDS method is a very simple method because the circuit configuration is not complex but has a disadvantage that can not control phase and amplitude easily by using NCO. M/M method has the complexity of the circuit configuration because it requires the memories which stores the waveforms, the control circuits, and DAC. And this method should apply the high interface technology for being compatible with the wide bandwidth of the digital signal and has the difficulty for PCB design because the number of the signal lines should be increased according to the number of the data bits for DAC. Although it has several disadvantages, this method has the capability of pre-distortion function which can compensate the phase and amplitude characteristics of the system and also has an excellent advantage to make any arbitrary waveform, so this method is considered as an important technology with DDS method. This research describes the technological trends of the waveform generator for the SAR payload and analyzes the characteristics of the technology.

Effect of Cerium loading on Stability of Ni-bimetallic/ZrO2 Mixed Oxide Catalysts for CO Methanation to Produce Natural Gas

  • All the $Ni-Co-Ce-ZrO_2$ mixed oxides are prepared by co-precipitations methods. Methanation of CO and $H_2$ reaction is screened tested over different fractions of cerium (2, 4, 7 and 12 wt.%) over $Ni-Co/ZrO_2$ bimetallic catalysts are investigated. The mixed oxides are characterized by XRD, CO-Chemisorption, TGA and screened methanation of CO and $H_2$ at $360^{\circ}C$ for 3000 min on stream at typical ratio $CO:H_2=1:1$. In $Ni-Co/CeZrO_2$ series 2 wt.% Ce loading catalyst shows most promising catalyst for $CH_4$ selectivity than $CO_2$, which directs more stability with less coke formation. The high activity is attributed to the better bimetallic synergy and the well-developed crystalline phases of NiO, $ZrO_2$ and $Ce-ZrO_2$. Other bimetallic mixed oxides NCoZ, $NCoC^{4-12}Z$ has faster deactivation with low methanation activity. Finally, 2 wt.% Ce loading catalyst was found to be optimal coke resistant catalyst.

Spectroscopic and Thermal Studies of [Cr2(NH2)2(H2O)2(SO4)2]·2H2O,[Cr(NCO)3(H2O)]·3H2O and [Fe O(OH)]·0.2H2O Compounds Formed by the Reactions of Urea with Cr2(SO4)3, Cr(CH3COO)3 AND Fe2(SO4)3

  • The bridged disulphato complex $[Cr_2(NH_2)_2(H_2O)_2(SO_4)_2]{\cdot}2H_2O$, terminal triisocyanato $[Cr(NCO)_3(H_2O)]{\cdot}3H_2O$ complex and limonite, $[FeO(OH)]{\cdot}0.2H_2O$ compound were prepared by the reaction of $Cr_2(SO_4)_3{\cdot}xH_2O, Cr(CH_3COO)_3$ and $Fe_2(SO_4)_3$, respectively, with urea in aqueous media at $80^{\circ}C$. The infrared spectra of the products indicate that the absence of the bands of urea, but shows the characteristic bands of coordinated amide, water, bridged sulphato and isocyanato groups. Thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) measurements on the complexes are also recorded. The data obtained agree quite well with the expected structures. A general mechanisms describing the formation and its thermal decomposition of the complexes are suggested.

Identification of Meiotic Recombination Intermediates in Saccharomyces cerevisiae (효모 감수분열과정에서의 유전자 재조합 기전 특이적 DNA 중간체의 구조 변화)

  • During meiosis, genetic recombinants are formed by homologous recombination accompanying with the programmed double-strand breaks (DSBs) and strand exchanges between homologous chromosomes. The mechanism is generated by recombination intermediates such as single-end invasions (SEIs) and double-Holliday junctions (dHJs), and followed by crossover (CO) or non-crossover (NCO) products. Our study was focused on the analysis of meiotic recombination intermediates (DSBs, SEIs, and dHJs) and final recombination products (CO and NCO). We identified these meiotic recombination intermediates using DNA physical analysis under HIS4LEU2 "hot spot" system in budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. For DNA physical analysis, when the hot spot locus is recognized by restriction enzyme from synchronous meiotic cells, the fragmented DNA that are forming recombination intermediates can be detected and quantified through Southern hybridization analysis. Our study suggests that this system can analyze the structural change of recombination intermediates during DSB-SEI transition, double-Holiday junctions and crossover/non-crossover products in meiosis.
