  • To purpose of this study is to design and manufacturing of packing gland using CAD/CAM system. The computer system used in this study was constructed with CPU 80386, RAM memory 4M, VGA graphic card. We was composed with CAD/CAM system, with interface PC and NC milling machine. By using develop program, we designed packing gland and it's manufactured. The basic structure of automatic production system for packing gland was established.

  • NC code has to be made after changing the drawing information to DXF file, the converting file. Arranging the information ordered irregularly when DXF file is made decrease the unnecessary time of rapid feed during working and the DATA capacity when the information is changed. This CAM program can be used easely for the beginner of the minor enterprises. The connection of operations and the use of GUI increase business efficiency.

  • An attempt has been made to determination the NC milling machine's tool-path through the adaptive parabolic interpolation method & the adaptive linear-parabolic interpolation method in consideration of the economical machining time. The algorithms for the above-mentioned interpolation methods have been designed and the numerical experiments for these methods have been conducted with the existing adaptive linear interpolation methods for comparision.

  • This paper describes the development of on-the-machine measuring(OMM) system which can directly measure the two and three dimensional machined accuracy using a scanning probe in milling machine. Two algorithms, NC program based continuous path(CP) measurement and CAD data assisted point to point(PTP) measurement, are developed for three dimensional measurements, with consideration of the characteristics of the scanning probe. The algorithms are used to develop an auto measuring system. The delveloped system is compared with the CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) in terms of accuracy and repeatability. The OMM system is expected to realize measurement time reduction and hence result in high productivity.

  • This paper discusses the methods of computing tool-paths for machining free-form surfaces on 3-axis CNC machines in die and mould making. In computational view this paper describes the characteristics and issues of the geometric information and the shape, which make computing tool-paths difficult. Important points that should be considered in devising a computing method are also discussed. A newly implemented method is explained and compared with an old method for a commercial CAM system. The implemented method is used in a commercial CAM system and the computing time for an example is presented.

2종류의 버와 3종류의 버를 이용해 제작된 크라운 보철물의 정밀도 평가 (Precision evaluation of crown prosthesis manufactured by two bur and three bur)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess precision of crown prostheses that were fabricated by using 2 kinds of bur or 3 kinds of bur. Methods: The crowns were fabricated by using the first molar of the right maxillary in this study. The abutments that were prepared were scanned by using a scanner and designed by using CAD software. Based on the crown design, NC data were created with CAM software. The created NC data were used while fabricating the crown prostheses by using 5-axis milling machine. Scanning was done for the internal and external surface of the completed crown prostheses and 3-dimensional measurement was conducted for precision assessment. Results: The $RMS{\pm}SD$ value for the external surface of the crown prostheses that was fabricated by using two burs and three burs were $28.5{\pm}4.1{\mu}m$ and $19.1{\pm}2.8{\mu}m$, respectively; and the value for two burs were bigger than that for three burs with statistical significance (p<0.001). The $RMS{\pm}SD$ value for the internal surface of the crown prostheses that was fabricated by using two burs and three burs were $14.9{\pm}1.9{\mu}m$ and $13.3{\pm}2.5{\mu}m$, respectively; and the value for two burs were bigger than that for three burs but with no statistical significance. Conclusion: Based on this study, the prostheses that were fabricated by using 3 bur presented better stability compared to those that were fabricated by using 2 bur and statistically significant difference was found only in the external surface.

순차이송형 프레스 금형의 가공표준화 (Standardization of machining process for progressive press die)

  • In the present study the newly developed CAD/CAM system is applied to the process of the molding design, machining for mini-sized and precise processive die, and the production of press-stamped parts. When the design of a die was completed by means of CAD, wire cut NC data were generated with the aid of a design drawing in the CAD system and then inputed into the wire cut machine, and with the aid of a hole chart which had been made for this purpose, all the data were classified into the categories of CNC milling, jig boring, jig grinding, and machine center, and then developing a program of generating NC data, errors in process were reduced and programming time was shortened. The program was developed by using Autolisp language which was built-in the CAD, and realizing the intergation of designing a die, generating and processing NC data directly by a designer, designing time and machinery processing time were shorted. And the traditionally required working time for design. NC program required 6 days of work becomes 4 days of work by using the developed CAD/CAM system so that the efficiency shows 150% of the reduction working time. The prpgram of the design of the automation a progressive die mold was developed in the PC-Class Autocad system, therefore development expense could be reduced, and the integration of the CAD/CAM of the progressive die mold with the standard DB being built could be realized.

절삭성을 고려한 자유곡면 모형의 볼 엔드 밀링가공에 관한 연구 (Ball end milling of sculptured surface models by considering machinability)

  • 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 구비조건과 문제점들을 해소하기 위하여 Fig.1과 같 이 볼 엔드 밀링의 절삭성과 경제적 절삭 속도식을 실용식의 형태로 표현하여 절삭조 건의 최적화를 위한 구속조건으로 설정하였고, 이를 자유곡면의 절삭경로 산출과정에 서 구속조건을 만족하면서 부품당의 생산비를 최소로 하는 스핀들속도와 이송속도를 결정하는 데에 적용하였다. 그리고 이는 실험모형에의 적용예를 통해 계산시간과 정 확도 및 절삭효과 등에 있어서 실용화의 가능성을 검토하였다. 이때 절삭력계를 해 석 함에 있어서는 기하학적 절삭 파라미터들에 대해 무차원적으로 정의된 절삭작용 누 적계수(accumulating coefficient)들을 이용하여 절삭력계를 선형화 된 실용식으로 표 현하였으며, 절삭 상수들과 절삭작용 누적계수들의 선형적 표현에 의해 평균 절삭력계 를 계산한 후, 토크 패턴 모델에 의해 절삭력 집중비를 구함으로써 실 절삭계의 주변 력(peripheral force), 드러스트, 토크, 동력 등을 예측하였다. 또한 절삭속도의 결 정에 있어서는 경제적 절삭속도 예측모델을 설정하여 가공비를 최소로 하는 절삭속도 를 선정토록 하였다.

CAD/CAM 통합을 위한 설계도면의 자동변환 (Automatic conversion of design drawing for CAD/CAM integration)

  • 본 연구에서는 직선 및 원과 원호가 포함된 설계도면 뿐만 아니라 단순한 수 식으로 표현할 수 없는 곡면 즉 선직선(ruled surface)을 포함한 기계 부품용 설계 도 면의 입체 도형으로의 자동 변환과, 자동 변환된 입체 도형으로부터 임의의 위치에 대 한 단면을 도출하여 CAM의 기본 요소인 NC 공작기계의 공구 경로를 발생시키는 과정의 알고리즘을 개발하고 이것을 컴퓨터 프로그램화하여 산업계에 필수적인 CAD/CAM 통합 을 위한 기초 이론을 확립하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Koren의 알고리즘을 밀링에 적용하는 ACCCNC시스템을 제안 CNC 시스템에 AC 시스템을 적용할 때 생기는 변수예측과 또 스텝 및 테이퍼의 두 가지 형 상모델에 대한 변수들의 거동 및 그 때의 생산성을 알아보고 또 이 시스템을 밀링에 적용할 때의 이들 시스템의 적용 가능성을 AC-unit 제어실험(control test)을 통하여 그 타당성을 검토하여 실제 CNC 시스템에 AC 시스템을 적용할 수 있도록 하는 ACC-CNC 시스템의 설계기준을 설정하여 시스템의 최적설계의 기초적인 자료를 얻고자 한다.
