This study investigated children's friendship factors such as number of friends, friendship quality, and friends' characteristics as a function of children's sociometric status. The concordance between children's and their friends'perceptions of friendship quality was examined. Subjects were fifth grade students recruited from two public schools. The peer nomination index assessed peer rejection and acceptance. Positive and negative nominations as well as social preference identified children into rejected and popular groups. Children who nominated each other on their list of friends were considered mutual friends. Children reported the quality of their friendships using the friendship quality scale. The results showed that rejected children had fewer mutual friends compared to popular children. Rejected children as well as their friends perceived their friendships less positively. Moreover, rejected children's perception showed lower correlations with their friends'perceptions than popular children's perceptions. Furthermore, rejected children were similar with friends in respect to peer rejection level. It was concluded that rejected children's problems in their peer group and dyadic friendships may mutually influence each other. The findings from this study highlight the need for future research on friendship quality and psychosocial adjustment for rejected children.

Purpose - Our study aimed to examine the roles of conflict management in maintaining a sustainable good relationship between joint venture (JV) partners. Although the concepts of relational capital, mutual commitment, and cultural adaptation have been neglected in previous research on interorganizational relationships, we treated them as inter-partner fit mechanism capabilities of affecting the level of satisfaction in a relationship with a JV partner. Design/methodology - In order to test hypotheses, we sent a questionnaire to Japanese firms operating JVs in South Korea and asked whether their levels of satisfaction with their JV partners increase when conflict management techniques are used to reduce the conflicts that usually arise between partners. Findings - The results of our study suggested that it is important for firms participating in a JV to construct and reinforce an inter-partner fit mechanism that enables them to maintain a favorable partnership. In addition, we suggested that relational capital, cultural adaptation, and mutual commitment influence conflict reduction and the level of satisfaction experienced in JVs. Moreover, the results showed that conflict management has a significant effect on developing soild partnerships and performance in JV situations. Originality/value - We advanced a new paradigm about conflict management and suggested methods of research propositions that are well grounded in the latest findings in conflict management research pertaining to JVs.
기업 간 관계품질은 기업성과와 긍정적인 관계를 나타내는 것으로 긍정적인 관계품질은 거래 당사자 간 갈등을 감소시켜 강력한 파트너십을 형성하게 하고 거래비용을 낮추어 기업성과를 제고할 뿐만 아니라 강력한 조직 관계형성으로 직접적인 매출과 이익을 증가시키며 불필요한 갈등을 예방하여 기업 혁신을 촉진하여 비용을 절감시키는 효과가 있다(Chiou& Droge, 2006; Cannon & Homburg, 2001; Rindfleisch & Mooramn, 2001). 이에 본 연구는 공급자 관점에서 관계학습의 영향요인을 규명하고 관계학습과 관계성과와의 관계를 살펴보고 수출기업과 내수기업 간에 기업의 관계학습 영향요인과 관계성과에 관해 선행연구의 결과를 바탕으로 연구모형을 설정하여 실증분석을 진행한 결과, 첫째, 관계학습 영향요인인 결속수준, 환경불확실성, 학습의도는 관계학습에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 관계학습 영향요인 중 거래특유 자산의 경우 관계학습 요인 중 정보공유와 관계특유 기억에 영향을 미치지만 공동이해에는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 관계학습이 관계성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 관계신뢰가 높을수록 관계학습이 관계성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the resilience of families of middle-aged married men upon the perception of family stress. The subjects were 301 married men age 40.54 living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, Korea. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling method and a convenience sampling method. The data were statistically processed using the SPSS 18.0 program. First, participants who perceived family stress less and had higher family resilience tended to be better educated, have higher average family incomes, have permanent employment, be religious, and have no experience of unemployment. Participants who had low-paying, physical labor-based jobs or who were contract workers perceived family stress more and had lower family resilience. Second, among the variables that affected family resilience, those that most influenced the perceptual extent of family stress were the sense of belief system's family control, having a positive perspective, flexibility with regard to morality, religion, and organizational patterns, connectivity, family resources, communication-oriented mutual cooperative problem-solving, and emotional response. Third, the influence of family resilience upon the perception of family stress measured at 44.2% based on regression analysis and was statistically significant (F=4.606, ***p<.001).

Lifted bans on immigration in late Qing dynasty with uncertainty of Korea(Chosun) triggered the immigration to this district. The flow was heavily strengthened under the influence of Westerners and Japanese imperialism into china which consequently provoked the ruin of Qing dynasty, the civil war between republicans and communist and the socio-political changes in Korea. As population growths, the establishment of hospitals and immigration of healthcare professionals were also increased. Though this district is located in Chinese mainland the influence of Japanese was also relevant which lead to medical practice reflection both sides. The purpose of this study is to promote the efficiency of the management of the controls organization in the university hospitals and general hospitals by evaluating the factors underlying organizational conflict. The subject population included 351 hospital workers randomly selected from two general hospitals of less than 200 beds and two university hospitals over 500 beds in Seoul area. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire. To define related factors for the level of conflict among departments in each hospitals multivariate regression analysis was conducted. Independent factors were characteristics of subjects, conflicting factors between the departments. The results are as follows: 1. Those in high job position group demonstrated significantly higher level of conflict between departments. Those working in the general hospitals, who were older and had long-term tenure at current working hospital had higher level of conflict between the departments. 2. Concerning the involvement of conflicting factors and the level of conflict in the employees' there was statistically significant positive correlation between reliability and job-related and intradepartmental level of conflict in university hospitals. There was a significant positive correlation between interdepartmental conflicting factors of mutual dependence, difference in goal/orientation and interdepartmental level of conflict. 3. In the university hospitals, among the interdepartmental factors, mutual dependence and difference in goal/orientation had statistically significant influence and showed a positive relationship with interdepartmental level of conflict. In the general hospitals, job position was a significant factor which showed that those in high position such as section chief or above, compared to those in general position had higher level of conflict. Among the interdepartmental characteristics, factors of mutual dependence and goal/orientation had statistically significant influence and showed a positive relationship with interdepartmental level of conflict. In the general hospitals setting efforts to reduce conflict in areas among workers with high position, old age, and long tenure and those in medical care department should be made and prudent management and planning for improved manpower and increased budget or efficient allocation and clear definition of job description are necessary to adequately assess. In the university hospitals setting efforts to reexaminitation of the organizational structure and efficiency conveyance of information and efforts to resolve conflict among young workers with lower level of education is need. This study has its own merit in comparing empirically the conflict among hospital workers in the university hospitals and general hospitals. Future study are needed with respect to the relationship between interdepartmental level of conflict and the effectiveness of the hospital organization for improved resolution of conflict in the organization and hospital management.
The present study aims to investigate cultural similarities and differences that influence interracial couples (between Korean men and Vietnamese women) when adapting to Korean family culture in terms of interculturalism. The interviewees consisted of three generations. This study used in-depth interviews. Data was collected from January to August 2008. 15 families (45 people) were used for analysis. Results were as follows: (1) the patriarchal culture of the two nations had a positive influence on the adaptation of members during family interactions(2) the culture of filial piety is a value system that both nations believe is important. However, different rituals had a negative influence on the practice of filial piety (3) the community-oriented culture is regarded as important in the two nations. However, Vietnamese wives cannot lead a free community life because Koreans see them in negative terms (4) the Vietnamese traditional wedding custom called "NopJjeOh" had a negative influence on the adaptation to the Korean family culture (5) the preference for sons in Vietnam is not as high as in Korea. This difference had a negative influence on adaptation (6) clear differences between the daily lives of the two nations had a negative influence on adaptation to Korean family culture. In conclusion, Korea and Vietnam have many similarities in culture, which enable Vietnamese wives to adapt to Korean culture more easily than other foreign wives. If various programs are developed to promote the mutual understanding between both cultures based on these research findings, it would further contribute toward social integration in Korea.
Purpose : This study was to examine the influence of job stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technician on fatigue and job satisfaction. Methods : Subjects of this study were 228 Emergency Medical Technicians who worked at 119 Safety Center of total 92 fire stations in 12 cities of Gyeonggido including U, N, H, B, A, S, Y, G, G, G, P and I and the period of data collection was from July 11 to Sep. 10, 2007. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS 14.0 version. Results : Conclusions of this study were as follows. 1) Factor related to organization among job stress factors had the greatest influence on fatigue (B = 0.334, p < 0.01), followed by crisis situation factor (B = 0.2042, p < 0.01), inappropriate treatment factor (B = 0.174, p < 0.05), role conflict factor as special job (B = 0.109, p < 0.05) and professional knowledge and technique factor (B = 0.109, p < 0.05), and the influence of job stress factors on fatigue was explained as $R^2=0.340$. 2) Mental burden factor of job stress factors had the greatest influence on job satisfaction (B = -0.606, p < 0.01), followed by organization factor (B = -0.473, p < 0.01) and interpersonal relation and conflict factor (B = -0.339, p < 0.01), and the influence of job stress factor on fatigue was explained as $R^2=0.308$. Conclusions : Job stress of 119 rescuer is increasing continuously and such an accumulated stress lowers the job efficiency. In order to reduce, job stress, it is important to extend(${\rightarrow}$ have) proper self-development, maintain close relationships and mutual correlations among members of organization in personal dimension and to solve the role conflicts, define the organizational roles and simplify excessive job description into concrete work.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of the Peer Relationship Program on the school adjustment of Ha-nul with the school maladjustment by peer problems. To achieve this purpose, single subject pretest-pottiest design was implemented for Ha-nul with school maladjustment in the third grade of the elementary school. As for the testing period of this study, this program was carried out one time a week for 10 weeks from Sept 11, 2006 to Oct 13, 2006. Each test lasted for $40{\sim}60$ minutes. To find out changes in the school adjustment of the subject child, the progress in change before and after tests was comparatively analyzed through a Likert-type three-step evaluation scale and presented as tables and graphs regarding the target behavior table. And the school adjustability was calculated in terms of percentage and presented as tables and bar graphs through a Likert-type four-step evaluation scale. Change in the subject Ha-nul's behavior, which was shown in test scenes, was observed and recorded and then Qualitatively analyzed. The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this study: First, the Peer relationship improvement program was effective in the positive influence to the relationship between a teacher in charge and Ha-nul with the school maladjustment This program made a confidence and increased the ability to express one's own ideas and feelings to others. Second, the Peer relationship improvement program was effective in the positive influence to the relationship between schoolfellows and Ha-nul with the school maladjustment This program provided the opportunities to get along with peers naturally and the abilities of a mutual understanding. Third, the Peer relationship improvement program was effective in the partially positive influence to Ha-nul with the school maladjustment. Fourth, the Peer relationship improvement program was effective in the positive influence to follow the school rules by experiencing a role, concession and fairness through the various activities. Fifth, the Peer relationship improvement program was effective in the positive influence to take part in the school event with a self-confidence and cooperation with peers through the various activities.
