This study was performed to investigate a relationship between a biomechanical analysis of compressive force at L5/S1 and electromyographic analysis of erector spinae muscle during lifting task. In the experiment, isometric contractions at 25, 50, 75, 100%MVC for short duration and sustained isometric contractions at 50%MVC were performed. For muscle recruitment patten and compressive force analysis, rectified EMG amplitudes analysis and computerized biomechanical analysis were used. To achieve data, angles of neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and length of body segments were measured. Results shows that trends of initial EMG rectified amplitude were similar to those of biomechanical calculation value and for sustained isometric contraction at 50%MVC EMG rectified amplitude of erector spinae muscle after 40seconds was increased up to level of 75%MVC. Based on the results of this study, biomechanical analysis should be supplemented considering muscle fatigue, and it is also suggested that work-rest cycle critera and the evaluation of back-pain injuries should include muscle fatigue.
We have evaluated the ability of a time-delayed artificial neural network (TDANN) to predict muscle forces using only eletromyographic(EMG) signals. To achieve this goal, tendon forces and EMG signals were measured simultaneously in the gastrocnemius muscle of a dog while walking on a motor-driven treadmill. Direct measurements of tendon forces were performed using an implantable force transducer and EMG signals were recorded using surface electrodes. Under dynamic conditions, the relationship between muscle force and EMG signal is nonlinear and time-dependent. Thus, we adopted EMG amplitude estimation with adaptive smoothing window length. This approach improved the prediction ability of muscle force in the TDANN training. The experimental results indicated that dynamic tendon forces from EMG signals could be predicted using the TDANN, in vivo.
A musculotendon model is proposed to predict muscle force during muscle fatigue due to the continuous functional electrical stimulation(FES). Muscle fatigue dynamics can be modeled as the electrical admittance of muscle fibers and included in activation dynamics based on the{{{{ { Ca}^{2+ } }}}} kinetics. The admittance depends on the fatigue variable that monotonically increase or decrease if electrical pulse exists or not, and on the stimulation parameters and the number of applied pulses. In the response of the change in activation the normalized Hill-type contraction dynamics connected with activation dynamics decline the muscle shortening velocity and thus its force under muscle fatigue. The computer simulation shows that the proposed model can express the muscle fatigue and its recovery without changing any stimulation parameters.
A study on processing for producing cure seat radiated by Original Infrared Rays and Magnatic force. We are well aware that Original Infrared Rays and Magnatic force influence on our human body benificially. In the technical background of this research product, we treated that the product has some operations of ceramic hardwood charcoal, far infrared rays and magnetic, so it can serve large part curative values made of far infrared rays and magnetic force of ceramics. Also, in the special quality of the product deal with ceramic, hard charcoal, ferrite, gelatin what is needed in prodution. And among them, ferrite, ceramic and hard charcoal are introduced by the manufacturing process of the moleculeization. In concluding, this study described the manufacturing process on the basis of the worksheets and arranged theuseful effect which effect on human body. There are so many symptoms in the pain of muscle. It's very various. for example, it is the cause of the liver, the spleen and a kidney function's weakening. the cause of the backbone subluxation, the cause of the shoulderjoint and scapula, the cause of the sacrum andiliacjoint, the cause of hip joint and the cause of a sprain. In this thesis, we mainly deal with the method which the muscle and nervous system disease by fatigue and a sprain cure seat radiated by Original Infrared Rays and Magnatic force. then, Original Infrared Rays and Magnatic force pack up frapezius muscle, gluteus minimum muscle, gluteus medius muscle, gluteus maximus muscle, pririformis muscle around the spine. through this course the moral pressure by the nervous system disease can be treat.
The electrical muscle stimulator (EMS) based human machine interface (HMI) free to mechanical constraint and muscle fatigue problems are proposed for force feedback in a virtual reality. The device was designed to provide force feedback up to 4.8 N and 2.6 N each to the thumb and forefingers. The main objective of the HMI is to make unnecessary mechanical structures to attach on the hand or fingers. It employs custom EMSs and an interface arranged in the forearm. In this work, major muscle groups such as extensor pollicis brevis (EPB), extensor indicis proprius (EIP), flexor pollicis longus (FPL) and flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) are selected for efficient force feedback and controlled individually. For this, a human muscular-skeletal analysis was performed and verified. The validity of the proposed multi-channel EMS based HMI was evaluated thorough various experiments with ten human subjects, interacting with a virtual environment.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the resistant force of medial pterygoid muscles against the mandibular advancement and distraction to anterior, and inquire into the relationship between medial pterygoid muscles and cephalometric variables. Sixty six patients with class III malocclusion underwent bilateral sagittal splitting of ramus with intraoralvertico-sagittal ramus osteotomy for mandibular set-back. The spring scale was used to measure the resistance of medial pterygoid muscles after splitting of ramus. Skeletaldental cephalometric analysis was made and statistic package was used for correlation between resistance and cephalometric variables. The resistant force of the right medial pterygoid muscle was greater than the left one in Koreans with class III malocclusion, and the force had a linear regression relationship with facial depth. The results suggested that facial depth has significant correlation with the resistance of medial pterygoid muscle, which can be acquired from patient's cephalometric analysis.
The estimation of muscle force is important to understand the roles of the muscles. The static optimization method can be used to figure out the individual muscle forces. However, muscle forces during the movement including muscle co-contraction cannot be considered by the static optimization. In this study, a hybrid static optimization method was introduced to find the well-matched muscle forces with EMG signals under muscle co-contraction conditions. To validate the developed algorithm, the 3D motion analysis and its corresponding inverse dynamics using the musculoskeletal modeling software (SIMM) were performed on heel-rise movements. Results showed that the developed algorithm could estimate the acceptable muscle forces during heel-rise movement. These results imply that a hybrid numerical approach is very useful to obtain the reasonable muscle forces under muscle co-contraction conditions.
The author studied masticatory muscle activity and bite force in normal persons without Temporomandibular Disorders(TMD) signs and symptoms, The number of subjects was 15, and the age of them was from 22 to 25 years. Electromyography was used to record the muscle activity in tapping and clenching movement with or without occlusal splint. 3 splints were made from 3 different mandibular position, that if, centric occlusion position, Rocabado's mandibular rest position, Dawson's centric relation position. The thickness of splint was 3.0-3.5㎜ at molar region. The muscle examined were Masseter and Anterior Temporalis attached with surface electrodes and the device used to measure the EMG level was Bioelectric processor Model EM2. After recording the EMG, the author measured the bite force level in clenching movement with bite force meter Model MPM-3000 in the dame position used in the EMG experiment. The obtained results were as follow : 1. With occlusal splints insetion, the amount of decreased muscle activity in Anterior Temporalis was more than those in Masseter. 2. In the three maxillomandibular relationships with occlusal splints, Masseter showed slightly increased level of muscle in centric occlusion but Ant. Temporalis showed decreased level of muscle activity reversely in that position. 3. Muscle activities between Rocabado's rest position and Dawson's centric relation position were generally similar whatever the muscles or the movements the author examined. 4. Bite force in clenching movement increased with splints insertion, especially with the splint registered in centric occlusion position.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the immediate effects of calf muscle Kinesio taping on ankle joint reposition sense (JRS) and force sense (FS) in healthy elderly. Methods: Thirteen healthy elderly subjects were participated in this study. The error of ankle JRS and FS was evaluated by 3D motion capture device and digital dynamometer depending on three different taping conditions (Kinesio taping, sham taping, and no taping) respectively. All of subjects were asked to perform a proprioceptive task of ankle JRS and FS. One-way repeated ANOVA test was used to compare the error of JRS and FS depending on three different taping conditions. Results: With Kinesio taping over calf muscle, ankle joint reposition sense error and force sense error significantly decreased, if compared with a sham taping or no taping condition. Conclusion: To apply Kinesio taping over calf muscle could enhance ankle proprioceptive sense in the elderly people.
