  • During the COMS system level test, the RF compatibility will be performed in order to verify that there is no issue in RF interface between satellite and COMS ground station, namely SOC (Satellite Operation Center) before the launch. As used for KOMPSAT1, the RF coaxial cable was chosen to be used to connect satellite and SOC with various advantages as compared with ground antennas. As the preparation step, RF cable and required multiplexer were tested in advance. This paper suggests the way for the RF compatibility tests between the satellite and the SOC over RF cable interface and presents the estimated level diagram as the signal power analysis result.

  • In this paper, we present a new macroblock-based bit allocation scheme in multiple MPEG-1 video encoders system and a single multiplexer over a single channel. The proposed scheme models the relations between fate(Bits/MB) and distortion(MSE/MB), rate and quantizer parameter(QP), distortion and quantizer parameter, respectively, in the same form. By using these relations, we minimize the Larangian cost function to obtain a bit allocation scheme based on macroblock unit. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can reduce MSE compared to other conventional buffer-based rate control methods, i.e. independent buffer control method and shared common buffer control one. And we confirmed, through computer simulation, that the proposed scheme can be effectively modified to maintain the objective quality of a specific video service at a constant level.

  • KSTAR 토카막 플라즈마의 전자온도 측정을 위한 전자 사이클로트론 방출(ECE) 진단계가 완성되어 KSTAR 3차 운전기간 동안 전자온도를 측정하였다. ECE 진단계는 2단의 헤테로다인 수신기 2개와 75채널의 RF 검출기 그리고 비디오 증폭기로 이루어져있다. 2개의 헤테로다인 수신기의 주파수 범위는 각각 110 GHz~162 GHz, 164 GHz~196 GHz 이며 163 GHz multiplexer에 의해 ECE power를 나눠갖는다. 각 채널 사이의 주파수 간격은 1 GHz이며 토로이달 자장을 2.5T로 운전한다면 플라즈마 반경방향의 모든 위치에서 측정이 가능하다. 또한 시간분해능도 100 kHz로 우수하여 반경방향의 전자온도분포의 시간 변화를 측정할 수 있다. 이 포스터에서는 2010년 KSTAR 실험동안 반경위치에 대한 전자온도를 측정과 sawtooth, ELM 등 MHD 현상 관측 결과에 대해 발표하였다. 그리고 중성빔(NB) 가열을 하는 동안 나타난 H-mode 때 전자온도의 변화도 살펴보았다.

  • In spite of the presence of various kind of Integrated Circuits it's not always easy to get the right part. Besides, it is hard to find a vendor for a small quantity consumers like who develop prototype applications. In this study, we've tried to get the logical signals from the PC based device we've developed that correspondents with the real ICs. It can emulate decoder ICs, multiplexers, demultiplexers and basic logic gates.

  • In this paper, the application of many different sensors in data acquisition system is discussed. According to the input signal type getting into analog multiplexer, it is necessary to assign different sampling time. To achieve the object, we designed the sub-systems by the simple auxiliary controller which is managed the particular sensor causing the troubles to main controller system.

  • A semicustom VLSI design fo digital filters used in TDM/FDM transmultiplexer is described. A filter bank composed of only all-pass digital filter sections are implemented with the polyphase network. The use of all-pass filters as basic building blocks is shown to provide a trans-multiplexer structure that has low computational requirements, low quantization noise, and high modularity. The silicon compiler system is used to reduce the design time and to increase the credibility of designed filters. As a prototype, 1st and 2nd order all pass filter are designed, using CMOS N-well double metal technology. The chip sizes of first order filter and the second order filter are 2652 x 533\ulcorner\ulcorner 5334x4300\ulcorner\ulcorner respectively.

  • 현재 기지국과 중계기 사이의 광선로에 사용되고 있는 1310 nm와 1550 nm 파장이외에 OADM (optical add-drop multiplexer)을 사용하여 새로운 2개 파장을 광선로에 추가로 연결함으로써 광선로 임차사용의 효율을 증대시키는 4파장 광중계기의 구현시 drop신호는 삽입손실 ­3 dB 이하의 저손실특성이 요구되며 isolation 신호는 통상 ­40 dB 이상의 고품질이 요구된다. 그러나 이와같은 성능의 광모듈을 실제로 구현하기 어렵다. 따라서 많은 광결합 부품의 조합을 통해서도 drop또는 isolation 특성은 4파장 광중계기를 실용화하기 어려울 만큼 저하된다.   • This paper describes an improved FES system to restore paralyzed extremities in spinal cord injury patients. For composing stimulus pattern which is suitable for each muscle, electrical stimulus pattern creating system is also developed by using IBM-PC. In the improved portable FES system using V40 microprocessor, muscle fatigue can be decreased by selecting the stimulus frequency which is proper to the response characteristics of each muscle. Driving softwares for the portable FES system and the stimulus pattern creating system are programmed with assembler and C language. A multichnnel portable FES system is designed to minimize the sire and weight using a D/A converter and 32 channel multiplexer.

  • Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is an upcoming standard in Korea used to provide mobile multimedia broadcasting service based on the Eureka-147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. The current dominant multimedia coding standard, MPEG-4, is foreseen to play an important role in forthcoming DMB services. However, the current approaches for transporting MPEG-4 content over DMB networks are not optimized. To address this issue we propose a novel MPEG-4 stream multiplexer, called M4SMux, which provides better stream multiplexing and delivery over DMB networks. M4SMux features an MPEG-4 elementary-stream interleaving mechanism that reduces the multiplexing overhead and a multiplex configuration mechanism that utilizes M4SLinkTable for easy content access. In addition, we propose an error correction method which enhances transport efficiency.

  • In this paper, a novel wavelength selectable multi-channel OADM(Optical Add/Drop Multiplexers) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The proposed OADM drops simultaneously more than one channel among many channels with small wavelength tuning by using one sampled grating and FBGs, Interchannel crosstalk (or interchannel rejection ratio) better than 20[dB] has been shown experimentally.
