중학교 수학 학습자료 개발을 위한 Java 프로그래밍 설계 연구 (A Study of a Java Programming Plan for the Development of Mathematics Learning Materials of Middle School)

  • This research is produced as a applet of learning materials, and is made with the internet languages HTML, Java, and NamoWebeditor. It contains "Greatest Common Divisor and Least Common Multiple", "Parallel translation of function of second order", "Pythagoras Theorem", which is the current middle school mathmatics textbook for third graders. The keynote of this research is that the students can study individually through logging into the internet on their own computers; the program is made using graphics and animation on order to develop the learners′ interest in mathematics. I hope that this research can supplement our currently insufficient internet educational data.

  • Efficient Query processing and optimization are critical for reducing network traffic and decreasing latency of query when accessing and manipulating sensor data of large-scale sensor networks. Currently it has been studied in sensor database projects. These works have mainly focused on in-network query processing for sensor networks and assumes homogeneous sensor networks, where each sensor network has same hardware and software configuration. In this paper, we present a framework for efficient query processing over heterogeneous sensor networks. Our proposed framework introduces query processing paradigm considering two heterogeneous characteristics of sensor networks: (1) data dissemination approach such as push, pull, and hybrid; (2) query processing capability of sensor networks if they may support in-network aggregation, spatial, periodic and conditional operators. Additionally, we propose multi-query optimization strategies supporting cross-translation between data acquisition query and data stream query to minimize total cost of multiple queries. It has been implemented in WSN middleware, COSMOS, developed by ETRI.

A Brief Introduction to the Transduction of Neural Activity into Fos Signal

  • The immediate early gene c-fos has long been known as a molecular marker of neural activity. The neuron's activity is transformed into intracellular calcium influx through NMDA receptors and L-type voltage sensitive calcium channels. For the transcription of c-fos, neural activity should be strong enough to activate mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway which shows low calcium sensitivity. Upon translation, the auto-inhibition by Fos protein regulates basal Fos expression. The pattern of external stimuli and the valence of the stimulus to the animal change Fos signal, thus the signal reflects learning and memory aspects. Understanding the features of multiple components regulating Fos signaling is necessary for the optimal generation and interpretation of Fos signal.

이종 데이터 모델에서의 STEP 표준 데이터 인터페이스(SDAI) 구현 (Implemetation of STEP Standard Data Interface (SDAI) on Multiple Data Models)

  • SDAI (Standard Data Access Interface) is an interface specification of accessing various storage systems such as file systems and database management systems for STEP data. Using SDAI, both application program developers and CAD/CAM system developers can be relieved from dealing with STEP physical file or system dependent DBMS operations. In this paper, we present implementations of SDAI on different data models, i.e., relational, extended relational, and object-oriented. In order to implement SDAI, we need to translate the EXPRESS information model into target data models. The schema translation process for three different data models are compared and other implementation issues are discussed.

  • 많은 바이오인포매틱스 관련 데이터베이스와 도구가 네트워크를 통해서 제공되고 있고, 이들을 효과적으로 활용하면 생물학적 분석을 적은 비용으로 우수한 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 주어진 질의에 대해서 잠재적으로 관련된 DNA 서열 정보를 획득하고, 분석자가 관심 있는 항목을 선택하면, 선택된 항목에 대한 모든 DNA 서열 정보를 확보하고, 이들에 대해서 아미노산 서열로 자동변환하여 ORF라는 정보를 활용하여 가장 가능성이 큰 것을 추천하는 도구를 소개한다. 해당 도구에는 웹 로봇 기법과 ORF 검색등을 위한 생물학적 지식을 활용한다.

Information Structure of Relative Clauses in English: a Flexible and Computationally Tractable Model

  • Relativization is one of the common syntactic operations to merge two different clauses into a single information unit. This operation plays a pivotal role to structuralize multiple clauses cohesively as well as serves to specify the property an individual has within the context. That implies that relativization contributes to information structure of multiclausal sentences. In this context, this paper delves into information structure of relative clauses in English with an eye toward creation of a computational model from a standpoint of machine translation. The current work employs Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar (HPSG, Pollard and Sag (1994)) as a theory of grammar and Minimal Recursion Semantics (MRS, Copestake et al. (2005) as a meaning representation system. Building upon these formalisms, this paper addresses how information structure of relative clauses can be represented and constrained. The current work makes use of Individual CONStraints (ICONS) for modeling relative clauses with respect to information structure. The current work also investigates which relative clause involves which information structure constraint. The present study argues that non-restrictive relative clauses impose a more specific constraint on information structure than restrictive relative clauses.

A Novel Cross Channel Self-Attention based Approach for Facial Attribute Editing

  • Although significant progress has been made in synthesizing visually realistic face images by Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), there still lacks effective approaches to provide fine-grained control over the generation process for semantic facial attribute editing. In this work, we propose a novel cross channel self-attention based generative adversarial network (CCA-GAN), which weights the importance of multiple channels of features and archives pixel-level feature alignment and conversion, to reduce the impact on irrelevant attributes while editing the target attributes. Evaluation results show that CCA-GAN outperforms state-of-the-art models on the CelebA dataset, reducing Fréchet Inception Distance (FID) and Kernel Inception Distance (KID) by 15~28% and 25~100%, respectively. Furthermore, visualization of generated samples confirms the effect of disentanglement of the proposed model.

Engineering the Extracellular Matrix for Organoid Culture

  • Organoids show great potential in clinical translational research owing to their intriguing properties to represent a near physiological model for native tissues. However, the dependency of organoid generation on the use of poorly defined matrices has hampered their clinical application. Current organoid culture systems mostly reply on biochemical signals provided by medium compositions and cell-cell interactions to control growth. Recent studies have highlighted the importance of the extracellular matrix (ECM) composition, cell-ECM interactions, and mechanical signals for organoid expansion and differentiation. Thus, several hydrogel systems prepared using natural or synthetic-based materials have been designed to recreate the stem cell niche in vitro, providing biochemical, biophysical, and mechanical signals. In this review, we discuss how recapitulating multiple aspects of the tissue-specific environment through designing and applying matrices could contribute to accelerating the translation of organoid technology from the laboratory to therapeutic and pharmaceutical applications.

Paediatric Allergic Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire (PADQLQ)의 한국어판 개발과 신뢰도, 타당도에 대한 연구 (Korean Translation and Validation of the Paediatric Allergic Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire (PADQLQ))

  • Objectives In pediatrics of Korean Medicine, it is crucial to evaluate the overall symptoms of children, especially in the children who have serious troubles in their life. In the era when diagnosis in Korean Medicine is quite suitable to evaluate multiple allergic diseases, and when growing numbers are in needs, development of an objective measurement scale for diagnosis of allergic disease in Korean Medicine became essential. Therefore, in the study, pediatric Allergic Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire (PADQLQ) was translated into Korean version with validations on some aspects. Methods In this study, we translated and validated the PADQLQ and established psychometric evidence on its utility in Korean children with similar problems. 71 children, age of 6 ~ 18 with allergic disease has participated. Results The internal consistency reliability of the PADQLQ by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was 0.94. In three domains (Practical, Physical, Emotional), the Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was 0.77, 0.90 and 0.69. The Spearman's rank correlation coefficient between PADQLQ total score and VAS was 0.75 (p<0.001). And, Structural validity was evaluated by the ANOVA test. QoL differences of the four groups in the three domains (practical, physical, emotional) were significant. The item discriminative indices were ranged from 0.1651 to 0.8188. Conclusions Korean version PADQLQ is highly reliable and valid for children with allergic diseases. This is significant to assess the relative seriousness of the allergic diseases and to evaluate the efficacy of different treatments in Korean Medicine.

MLC 낸드 플래시 기반 저장장치의 쓰기 성능 개선을 위한 계층 교차적 최적화 기법 (A Cross Layer Optimization Technique for Improving Performance of MLC NAND Flash-Based Storages)

  • 하나의 메모리 셀에 여러 비트의 정보를 저장하는 다치화 기법은 공정 미세화와 함께 낸드 플래시 메모리의 집적도를 크게 향상시켰지만, 그 반대급부로 MLC 낸드 플래시 메모리의 평균 쓰기 성능은 SLC 낸드 플래시 메모리 대비 두 배 이상 하락하였다. 본 논문에서는 MLC 낸드 플래시 기반 저장장치의 성능 향상을 위해 제안되었던 기존의 계층 교차적 최적화 기법들을 소개하고, 두 기법의 상호 보완성을 분석하여 해당 기법들의 한계점을 극복하는 새로운 통합 기법을 제안한다. MLC 낸드 플래시 디바이스에 존재하는 성능 비대칭성을 플래시 변환 계층 수준에서 최대한 활용함으로써, 제안하는 기법은 인가되는 다수의 쓰기 명령을 SLC 낸드 플래시 디바이스의 성능으로 처리하여 저장장치의 성능 향상을 도모한다. 실험 결과, 제안하는 기법은 기존 기법 대비 평균 39%의 성능 향상을 달성할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
