The heat transfer characteristics of a fluidized bed latent heat storage system using encapsulated PCM was investigated. The cylindrical test section has the dimension of 50 mm I.D. and 40 cm in height. The phase change material(PCM) was the sodium acetate and was encapsulated by the multiple layers of PMMA and paraffin wax. The size of encapsulated PCM was $2{\sim}3mm$ and melting point was $58^{\circ}C$. The instantaneous heat storage and heat release rates were determined and the instantaneous heat transfer coefficient based on the fluidized bed volume was also determined. The effect of inlet temperature and velocity of heat transfer fluid on the heat transfer coefficient was also investigated.
As continued scaling becomes increasingly difficult, 3D integration has emerged as a viable solution to achieve higher bandwidths and good power efficiency. 3D integration can be defined as a technology involving the stacking of multiple processed wafers containing integrated circuits on top of each other with vertical interconnects between the wafers. This type of 3D structure can improve performance levels, enable the integration of devices with incompatible process flows, and reduce form factors. Through silicon vias (TSVs), which directly connect stacked structures die-to-die, are an enabling technology for future 3D integrated systems. TSVs filled with copper using an electro-plating method are investigated in this study. DC and pulses are used as a current source for the electro-plating process as a means of via filling. A TiN barrier and Ru seed layers are deposited by plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) with thicknesses of 10 and 30 nm, respectively. All samples electroplated by the DC current showed defects, even with additives. However, the samples electroplated by the pulse current showed defect-free super-filled via structures. The optimized condition for defect-free bottom-up super-filling was established by adjusting the additive concentrations in the basic plating solution of copper sulfate. The optimized concentrations of JGB and SPS were found to be 10 and 20 ppm, respectively.

The comparative wood anatomy of 1 species belonging to genus Myrica of Myricaceae, 9 species to genus Populus and 8 species to genus Salix of Salcaceae, occurring in Korea, was described and coded according to IAWA list(Wheeler, 1989). Myrica rubra. of Myricaceae is a typical diffuse-porous wood with numerous vessels per $mm^2$ and its pores are mainly angular in outline. Vessels scalariform perforation plates with a few bars, very small inter vessel pits; axial parenchyma abundant, diffuse or diffuse-in-aggregates which is distinct and easily observed on cross section; rays 1-3 seriate, Kribs' heterogeneous I or II types, frequently contains rhomboidal crystals; Dark pigmented substances included in some rays and axial parenchyma. Salicaceae, a typical diffuse porous wood, has mainly radial pore multiple, large intervessel pits, distinct alternate pits, simple perforation plates, ray-vessel pits with circular large pits, uniseriate rays, marginal parenchyma composed of 1-2 layers. In some species, ray parenchyma contain crystals. Populus and Salix wood can be distinguished from one another by the following characters. Pores of Populus woods almost angular in outline. Uniseriate homogeneous rays slightly higher than Salix and long linear on tangential section. Whereas Salix woods appear the pores almost oval, uniseriate heterogeneous rays, which are smular narrow fusiform on tangential section and lower in height than Populus.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the resin infiltration into dentin of one-bottle adhesive systems and self-etching primer bonded to Class V cavities using confocal laser scanning microscope(CLSM). Material and Methods : Forty Class V cavities were prepared from freshly extracted caries-free Human teeth. These teeth were divided into two groups based on the presence of cervical abrasion: Group I, cervical abrasion : Group II, wedge-shaped cavity preparation. Resin-dentin interfaces were produced with two one-bottle dentin bonding systems-ONE COAT BOND(OCB; Coltene$^R$) and Syntac$^R$SPrint$^{TM}$(SS; VIVADENT)-, one self-etching priming system-CLEARFIL$^{TM}$ SE BOND (SB : KURARAY)- and one multi-step dentin bonding system-Scotchbond$^{TM}$Multi-Purpose (SBMP, 3M Dental Products)-as control according to manufacturers' instructions. Cavities were restored with Spectrum$^{R}$(Dentsply). Specimens were immersed in saline for 24 hours and sectioned longitudinally with a low-speed diamond disc. The resin-dentin interfaces were microscopically observed using CLSM. The quality of resin-infiltrated dentin layers were evaluated by five dentists using 0~4 scale. Results : Confocal laser scanning microscopal investigations using primer labeled with rhodamine B showed that the penetration of the primer occurred along the cavity margins. Statistical analysis using one-way ANOVA followed by Duncan's Multiple Range test revealed that the primer penetration of the group 2(wedge-shaped cavity preparation) was more effective than group 1(cervical abrasion) and that of the gingival interfaces was more effective than the occlusal interfaces. In the one-bottle dentin bonding systems, the resin penetration score of OCB was compatible to SBMP, but those of SS and self-etching priming system, SB were lower than SBMP.

Long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) detectors made of self-assembled quantum dots embedded in the channel region of high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) is demonstrated. Above 180 K, the detector shows low dark currents due to strong confinement effect of electrons in InAs quantum dots and exhibits the broad spectral response ranging from 7 mm to 11 mm. The peak detectivity ($D^*$) of $1.93{\times}10^{10}cmHz^{1/2}/W$ is obtained at 9.4 mm. The photocurrent characteristics as a function of applied bias are similar to that of normal FETs, while the photocurrent decreases as the applied electric field exceeds $2{\times}10^3V/cm$ because of the increased dark current.

This paper proposes to increase an efficiency of somebody searching information by a visualization of an unseen query words with well-selected user's intent structures. If a search engine identifies user's intent to pursue information, it would be an effective search engine. To do so, it is needed that relationships between query-words are to be visible after recovering words lost during formulated, and that an intention structure/elements is to be established. This paper will review previous studies, after then, define a simple structure of the search intent, and show a process to expand and to generate the query words appropriate to the intent structure with a method for the visualization of the query words. In this process, some examples and tests are necessary that one of the multiple intent structured layers is to assign to a range of query-words. Increasing/Decreasing an efficiency are analyzed to find. Future research is needed how to automate a process to extend structural nodules of user's intent.
Characteristics of dissimilar metal welds between alloy steel ASTM A387 Gr. 91 and carbon steel ASTM A516 Gr.70 made with Flux cored arc welding(FCAW) have been evaluated in terms of microstructure, mechanical strength, chemical analysis by EDS as well as corrosion test. Three heat inputs of 15.0, 22.5, 30.0kJ/cm were employed to make joints of dissimilar metals with E71T-1C wire. Post-weld heat treatment was carried out at $750^{\circ}C$ for 2.5 h. Based on microstructural examination, Intragranular polygonal ferrite and grainboundary ferrite were formed only in first layer of weld metal. Another layers consisted of acicular ferrite and $Widmannst{\ddot{a}}tten$ ferrite. The amount of acicular ferrite was increased with decreasing heat input and layer. Heat affected zone of alloy steel showed the highest hardness due to the formation of tempered martensite and lower bainite. Lower and upper bainite were formed in heat affected zone of carbon steel. Tensile strengths of dissimilar metal welds decreased with increasing heat inputs. Dissimilar metal welds showed a good hot cracking resistance due to the low HCS index below 4. The salt spray test of dissimilar metals welds showed that the weight loss rate by corrosion below 170 hours was decreased with increasing heat inputs due to the increase of the amount of acicular ferrite.

The centrifugal separator which uses gravity separation method for oil-water separation, rotating at high-speed, is one of the most commonly used device for controlling the amount of the oil in waste water collected in bilge. The IMO (International Maritime Organization) has set regulations, also known as MARPOL 73/78, for the prevention of marine pollution. In addition, DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV) has set standards regarding the assignment of Environmental Class Notation, CLEAN or CLEAN DESIGN, of ships. One of the requirements for classification is that in addition to conforming to MARPOL 73/78, more stringent measures must be taken as well. One of these measures is to limit the oil concentration in bilge water to less than 5ppm. So in this study, an Oil-Water Separator (OWS) is used together with multiple separating plates as a filtration system to be used as an oil-water separation device. The OWS operates using centrifugal separation in which the mixture is separated by centrifugal forces. The main purpose of this paper is to present the OWS separation efficiency according to the rotation speed, mass-flow rate, the angle and the number of stacked layers of the laminated plate using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Improvements to the device will be investigated from these results.

In a tension-controlled section, all steel tension reinforcement is assumed to yield at ultimate when using the strength design method to calculate the nominal flexural strength of members with steel reinforcement arranged in multiple layers. Therefore, the tension force is assumed to act at the centroid of the reinforcement with a magnitude equal to the area of tension reinforcement times the yield strength of steel. Because FRP materials have no plastic region, the stress in each reinforcement layer will vary depending on its distance from the neutral axis. Similarly, if different types of FRP bars are used to reinforce the same member, the stress level in each bar type will vary, and the member will show different behavior from our expectation. In this study, six high-strength concrete beam specimens reinforced with conventional steels, CFRP bars, and GFRP bars as flexural reinforcements were constructed and tested. The members reinforced with hybrid reinforcements showed higher stiffness, smaller crack width, and better ductility than the members reinforced with single type of FRP bars.
The oxidation behavior of Ag-36.8a%Cu-7.4at%Ti alloy brazed on Si3N4 substrate was investigated at 400, 500 and 600$^{\circ}C$ in air. Under this experimental condition Si3N4 and Ag were not oxidized whereas Cu and Ti among the brazing alloy components were oxidizied obeying the parabolic oxidation rate law. The activation energy of oxidation was found to be 80kj/ mol which was smaller than that of pure Cu owing to the presence of oxygen active element of Ti. The outer oxide scale formed from the initial oxidation state was always composed of Cu oxides which were known to be growing by the outward diffusion of Cu ions. As the oxidation progressed the concentration gradient occurred due to the continuous consumption of Cu as Cu oxides and consequently build-up of an Ag-enriched layer below the Cu oxides resulted in the formation of multiple oxide scales composed of Cu oxide (CuO) /Ag-enriched layer/Cu oxide (Cu2O) /Ag-enriched layer. Also the inward diffusing of oxygen through Cu oxide and Ag-enriched layers led to the formation of internal oxides of TiO2.
