  • In this paper, we have developed a new Force-Display system using tendon-driven method based multiple DC motors. The proposed system is based on the HIR Lab Haptic library, which calculates the real position and renders the reflecting force data to device rapidly. The system is composed of device based tendon- driving method, high-speed controller and Haptic rendering library. The developed system will be used on constructing the dynamical virtual environment. To show the efficiency of our system, we designed simulation program, which an display the moving force (attaching, grabbing, rotating) on two virtual points. As the result of the experiment, our proposed system shows much higher resolution than any others.

  • In this paper we present Multiple-Channel Active Noise Control[ANC] system by employing Independent Component Analysis[ICA] and Adaptive Network Fuzzy Inference System[ANFIS]. ICA is widely used in signal processing and communication and it use prewhiting and appropriate choice of non-linearities, ICA can separate mixed signal. ANFIS controller is trained with the hybrid learning algorithm to optimize its parameters for adaptively canceling noise. This new method which minimizes a statistical dependency of mutual information(MI) in mixed low frequency noise signal and there is no need to secondary path modeling. The proposed implementations achieve more powerful and stable noise reduction than Filtered-X LMS algorithms which is needed for LTI assumption and precise secondary error

  • This paper presents a synchronous generator with a distributed system of multiple parallel three-phase power cells. This generator can immediately output high DC. Each power cell comprises three-phase windings and a three-phase synchronous rectification bridge with a deadbeat control of load power feedforward, which can improve the characteristics of dynamic response and reflect the load variance in real time. Furthermore, each power cell works well independently and modularly using the method of automatic maximum current sharing. The simulation and experimental results for the distributed controller of multiple power cells demonstrate that the deadbeat control method can respond quickly and optimize the quality of the energy. Meanwhile, automatic maximum current sharing can realize the validity of current sharing among power cells.

  • The main objective of this paper is to develop an innovative methodology for the vibration suppression control of the multiple degrees-of-freedom (MDOF) flexible structure. The proposed structure represented in this research as a clamped-free-free-free truss type plate is rotated by motors. The controller has two loops for tracking and vibration suppression. In addition to stabilizing the actual system, the proposed feedback control is based on a genetic algorithm (GA) to seek the primary optimal control gain for tracking and stabilization purposes. Moreover, input shaping is introduced for the control scheme that limits motion-induced elastic vibration by shaping the reference command. Experimental results are presented, demonstrating that, in the control loop, roll and yaw angles track control and elastic mode stabilization. It was also demonstrated that combining the input shaper with the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) feedback method has been shown to yield improved performance in controlling the flexible structure system. The broad range of problems discussed in this research is valuable in civil, mechanical, and aerospace engineering for flexible structures with MDOM motion.

  • The robot has a smart function with the development of mobile devices and provides safety and convenience to our lives. In this paper, we study multiple robotcar system based on mobile that can be controlled by remote control. Robotcar with arduino can be controlled from server, but it also designed to be controlled by mobile devices as controller's necessary. Besides, it have feature that many robotcars can be controlled at the same time by using several mobile devices which select each robotcar.

  • As automation systems become intelligent and autonomous for productibility, industrial networks (fieldbuses) and network-based devices are essential components of intelligent manufacturing systems. However, there are obstacles for the wide acceptance of the network-based devices such as smart sensor and network-based actuator. First, there exist numerous fieldbus protocols that a network-based device should be able to support. Second, the whole network-based device has to be replaced when only the sensor of the module fails. In order to overcome these obstacles, a smart sensor/actuator is implemented as two units; one responsible for network communication and the other for sensor/actuator operations using IEEE 1451.0 standard. This paper presents a structure of the 1451.0-based smart sensor with multiple connectivity function designed by CANopen.

  • In general, multiple hydraulic servo actuators are installed on one control surface of aero-dynamically highly loaded condition aircraft for redundancy management to satisfy flight control safety requirements. If motions of multiple actuators are not synchronized, control surface is deformed from its free stressed state. In result, force fight conditions are generated on each actuator due to restoration reaction force of deformed control surface. In addition, force fight is induced from severe initial rigging tolerance. Force fight condition of multiple actuators affects control accuracies and reduces operational life of actuators and control surface due to fatigue phenomenon. In this study, we designed controller using force feedback to reduce force fight of duplex servo actuation system.

  • To control vertical and lateral compound vibration simultaneously using an integrated smart controller, passive tuned mass damper (TMD) and tuned liquid damper (TLD) are updated and combined to an adaptive-passive TMD-TLD (AP-TMD-TLD) system. As for the vertical AP-TMD part on top of the vertical spring, it can retune itself through varying the level of liquid in the tank to adjust its mass, while the lateral AP-TLD part at the bottom of the vertical spring can retune itself by changing the level of liquid. Further, for multimodal response control, the multiple AP-TMD-TLD (MAP-TMD-TLD) system is proposed as well. Each AP-TMD-TLD in the system can identify the structural vertical and lateral modal frequencies through the wavelet-transform (WT) based algorithm and retune its vertical and lateral natural frequencies both through adjusting the level of liquid in the AP-TMD and AP-TLD parts respectively. A cantilever cable-stayed landscape bridge which is sensitive to both human-induced and wind-induced vibrations is presented as a case study. For comparison, initial parameters of MAP-TMD-TLD are mistuned. Results show that the presented system can retune its vertical and lateral frequencies precisely, while the retuned system has a better bi-directional compound control effect than the mistuned system before the retuning operation and can improve the serviceability significantly.

  • Electric vehicles and robots are real-time distributed control systems composed of multiple drive subsystems using micro controller units. Each control subsystem should be modular, compact, power saving, interoperable and fault tolerable in order to be incorporated into the networked real-time distributed control system. Under the networked real-time distributed control the synchronization problem can be occurred to the position and orientation tracking control due to the load variance, mismatch and time delay between the multiple drive subsystems. This paper suggests two types of position synchronization control of the single link manipulators. One of them is composed of cross controller, Kalman filter and disturbance observer, and the other uses the generation of target trajectories to minimize the gradient vector of the scalar function which is composed of the sum of square errors between the reference input vector and the output vectors. The availability of the proposed control schemes is shown through the control experiments.

  • The traffic in research network for the new structure of the network and new service research has the various properties. From the perspective of a specific traffic point of view, transmission of traffic with different requirements using a single routing protocol is an obstacle to satisfy requirements. In this study, we classify the properties of the traffic into two types. We propose the way that we can get the overall optimization effect, the experiment proves it by providing independent multiple forwarding path by applying optimized algorithm by types. In order to distinguish each type of traffic we use the ports on the switch and in order to implement independent path we apply OpenFlow system. In other words, we present the measure that can be implemented to improve the satisfaction of the traffic by making multiple paths by OpenFlow controller according to the type of traffic and by enforcing in Forwarder.
