The Brand Name Effect of Consumer's Evaluation on Intrinsic Attributes :A Case Study of Clothing Market

  • The purpose of this study was primarily to examine various variables influencing consumer purchasing behavior on perceived product quality, value toward product including brand loyalty, price, consumer's willingness to pay for the product, and their expenditure patterns in Korean apparel market. Factor analysis was used to evaluate the credibility of dependent variables, and T-test was used to compare the effect of brand label, country of origin, brand effect between Korean and U.S, and jacket price and quality on consumer characteristics. Discriminated analysis was used to find the effective variables influencing the two reference group differences when they evaluated Korean and U.S. labeled and non-labeled apparel products. Multiple Regression analysis was used to examine the effects of consumer characteristics on perceived quality, perceived value, perceived price, and their willingness to buy. The results of this study also provides useful information of consumer purchasing behavior on U.S. branded apparel which may or already launched the Korean fashion merchandizing market.

미국 여대생의 쇼핑 성향과 니트웨어 구매행동에 관한 연구 (Shopping Orientation and Knitwear Purchasing Behavior of Female College Students in the U.S.)

  • The Main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between shopping orientations and Knit wear Buying Behavior of female college students in the U.S. age 18 to 33. The questionnaires for this survey were developed to measure knitwear purchasing behavior, including sources of information about knitwear, evaluative criteria of knit wear product, attributes f store preference for knitwear, and shopping orientation. The questionnaire was administered to 119 female college students in the University of California. The data was analyzed by percentage, frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cluster Analysis and ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range test. The female college students were classified into five subdivisions by cluster analysis; cautious shopping group, recreational shopping group, self-confident shopping group, shopping indifferent group, price conscious shopping group. In the case of fashion information sources of knit wear, significant differences were found according to shopping orientation subdivision in observation of others' and famous people's clothing, fashion shows, fashion articles in magazines, newspapers, and on the Internet, and shop displays. The evaluation criteria of knit wear product were significantly different depending on shopping orientation subdivision in fashionable, brand and store name, appropriate for different occasion, prestige. The store attributes of knitwear were significantly different depending on shopping orientation subdivision in product knowledge of sales personnel, store atmosphere, display of merchandise, layaway payment plan, price level, ease of parking and access, and new fashion.

복수의 프로그램 속성 값 지정을 통한 EPG User Interface (EPG User Interface Via Multiple Programmable Attribute Values Specified)

  • With the start of digital broadcasting, TV screen, there is provided a new broadcast service is called EPG (Electronic Program Guide) that can be retrieved directly to a channel or program. However, a study considering the EPG of the user interface on the viewer position is so far insufficient. TV is because everyone watching the media, rather than a specific layer is necessary in order to find easy, intuitive user interface for the program to the viewer. That is, it is possible to quickly find the program to select the attributes that the TV viewer can be easily understood by using the EPG. To this end, this paper first genres which are representative of the properties that distinguish a TV program, time, rating, etc. were systematically classified. So viewers the values of the properties but to specify organized by the EPG, the order of attributes that specify the value we design a user interface that can be selected as having easy. And compare the superiority of the function evaluation of the two through the EPG in the EPG Usability Test proposed by the EPG with the existing commercial paper.

  • Impact noise is induced in a car when it is driven on a harsh road or over some bumps. This noise occurs with the very high level of sound, which affects passengers in some way or other. Although it is impossible to clearly remove such noise. It is necessary to research an improvement in sound quality for impact noise. A new sound metric for impact sound is presented in the previous work. This metric is verified by comparison between mean subjective ratings and several sound metrics. In this paper, more objective attributes are considered, which are the attributes expressing the level and modulation of sound. Three sound metrics are employed to get impact sound indexes for each course by the method of multiple linear regressions. The indexes are verified by considering the correlation between the estimated values from the multiple linear regressions and the mean subjective ratings by evaluators. Also, the subjective ratings on the indexes are estimated for the case in which some parts of suspension system are changed. The estimated ratings represent more reasonable or acceptable ratings. Thus, such indexes can be used for modification of the parts of suspension system under considering a good sound quality.

걷기활동 증진을 위한 보행환경 평가지표의 개발 (Developing the Evaluation Indicator of Pedestrian Environment for Promoting Walking Activity)

  • The promotion of walking and bicycling is recently a hot topic in the urban planning and design field. Many planners have already examined the many components of the land use-transportation connection and built environment-physical activity link. A rapidly growing area of urban form research is to measure the level of walk-ability in urban environments. With this background, this research conducted a preliminary study to develop the evaluation indicators of pedestrian environments. Based on the literature reviews on walking or pedestrian environments, we proposed the seventeen indicators related with pedestrian facilities, road attributes and walking environment. We also performed a questionary survey to evaluate the satisfaction of their neighborhood pedestrian environments for 302 randomly selected adults living in the City of Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do. Finally, this research provided the valid model to evaluate the effects of physical environmental factors on the walking satisfaction using factor analysis and multiple regression analysis.

2010년도 조사대상별 학교급식 만족도 및 급식품질 속성 평가 (Evaluation of the Quality Attribute and Satisfaction on School Foodservice in 2010)

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the quality attributes, quality factors and customer satisfaction in school foodservice and to provide suggestions for improving school foodservice environments. The survey was distributed to different respondents (5,771 students, 2,045 parents, and 1,981 faculty members) at different types of schools (elementary school, middle school, and high school) on September 2010 in 16 cities and provinces. The data were analyzed using SPSS for descriptive analysis, one-way ANOVA, t-test and multiple linear regression analysis. First, all foodservice quality attributes were significant different by respondents and the faculty had higher scores than parents and students. A comparison of scores by respondents and distribution place demonstrated that classroom of student and parents had a higher score for quality attributes. The overall satisfaction with school foodservice was significant different by respondents and higher for classroom than for dining hall for student and parents. In comparison of annual data, there was decreased overall satisfaction and quality attributes in student and parents. Second, in the regression results, which showed the effects of the foodservice quality attributes on overall satisfaction by respondents and distribution place, improvements of 'food taste', 'pleasant foodservice environment', and 'kindness of employee' would increase satisfaction in most of the respondents. Third, the overall satisfaction with school foodservice was higher for nutrition teachers than dietitians for students and faculty. Therefore, the operators will need to make different efforts based on each customer needs to improve the overall satisfaction on school foodservice.

Improved STGAN for Facial Attribute Editing by Utilizing Mask Information

  • 본 논문에서는 머리카락과 모자 영역의 마스크 정보를 활용하여 더 자연스러운 얼굴 속성 편집(facial attribute editing)을 수행하는 모델을 제안한다. 최신 얼굴 속성 편집 연구인 STGAN은 다중 얼굴 속성을 자연스럽게 편집하는 성과를 보였다. 그러나 머리카락과 관련된 속성을 편집할 때 부자연스러운 결과를 생성할 수 있다. 제안하는 방법의 핵심 아이디어는 기존 모델에서 부족했던 얼굴 영역의 정보를 모델에 추가로 반영하는 것이다. 이를 위해 세 가지 아이디어를 적용한다. 첫째로 마스크를 통해 머리카락 면적 속성을 추가하여 머리카락 정보를 보완한다. 둘째로 순환 일관성 손실(cycle consistency loss)을 추가하여 영상의 불필요한 변화를 억제한다. 셋째로 모자 분할 신경망을 추가하여 모자 영역 왜곡을 방지한다. 정성적 평가를 통해 제안하는 방법 적용 여부에 따른 유효성을 평가 및 분석한다. 실험 결과에서 제안하는 방법이 머리카락 및 얼굴 영역을 더 자연스럽게 생성하고, 모자 영역의 왜곡을 성공적으로 방지했다.

다중요인분석을 이용한 부분 최소제곱 경로 모형에 대한 고찰 (Study on analysis with partial least square path modeling using multiple factor analysis)

  • 다중요인분석은 관능검사에서 주로 이용되는 분석으로 상품의 속성과 소비자들의 기호도에 대한 자료 분석에 주로 이용된다. 본 연구에서는 다중요인분석을 상품의 속성, 소비자들의 기호도 등의 자료에 이용하여 소비자들의 특성에 따라 몇 개의 군집으로 분류하고 이를 부분 최소제곱 경로모형을 이용하여 분류된 군집의 특성을 파악해 보고자 한다. 향수의 속성에 대한 자료와 소비자들이 파악한 향수의 속성, 그리고 그들의 기호도에 관한 실제 자료를 다중요인분석을 이용하여 살펴보고 이 결과를 이용하여 소비자들을 4개의 군집으로 분할한다. 분할한 군집별로 제품의 특성을 파악하고 이를 최소제곱경로모형에 적용하여 각 군집의 특성을 나타내는 잠재변수를 추정, 군집별로 소비자들이 선호하거나 기피하는 제품의 특성들, 그리고 각 군집별로 제품들을 어떻게 지각하는지 등을 파악한다. 다중요인분석을 활용한 부분 최소제곱 경로모형은 제품에 대한 특성과 소비자들의 기호도를 동시에 분석하여 이들의 관계를 규명하고 분석 결과를 제품 개발과 판매에 적용할 수 있다는 점에서 유용한 모형이라고 할 수 있다.

프린터의 음질 인덱스 제작과 음질개선에 대한 응용 (Design of Sound Quality Index for Laser Printers and Its Application for Improvement Study)

  • The sound quality based on design optimization, throughout the development process of various electronic office equipments, needs to be considered in order to respond the increased needs for the emotional satisfaction of customers in terms of psycho-acoustics. This paper focuses on how to describe the characteristics of operating sound radiated from laser printers by using various sound attributes, and to model the sound quality index that can properly evaluate the subjective preference on modification conditions in the improvement study quantitatively. Especially, the proposed verification process, in the form of combining the correlation based method and the decision error based method, was applied to improve the generality and reliability of a group of participants in the jury evaluation. The modified Aures tonality model was also proposed to improve the correlation coefficient with the mean response of participants by optimizing some parameters. As a result, the loudness, articulation index, roughness, tonality, fluctuation strength were used to model the sound quality index for laser printers by using the multiple-linear regression method. Through the improvement study, it was confirmed that replacing the absorbing materials is effective to reduce the tonalness radiated from the side of a reference printer model. Based on above results, it can be concluded that the proposed model has enough usefulness as quantitative evaluation index to evaluate the difference between modification conditions in the improvement study.

AHP 분석도구 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of AHP Analytic Tools)

  • Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a systematic and objective decision method that stratifies multiple criteria to determine various evaluation factors' order of priority. Since AHP requires several stages of analysis with complicated attributes, they normally rely on computer programs for the execution of such analyses. However, the existing AHP analytic tools carry the inconvenience of having to repeatedly input massive amounts data generated in every stage. This repetitious data entry process results in prolonged analysis times and higher possibility of errors, leading to decreased reliability of the results. Thus, in this study, we develop an analytic tool that effectively simplifies the data entry process in AHP analysis, for the purpose of reducing analysis times and increasing the reliability of the results.
