The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of lifestyle factors on clothing purchase motives, information use, and selection criteria in male college students. The sample included 241 male college students, and an instrument was developed based on the previous studies. The statistical analyses used for this study were factor analysis and multiple regression. The result of factor analysis showed that lifestyle consisted of six factors : clothing interest, serif-confidence, social participation, planned clothing purchase, family-orientation, and conservativeness. Clothing purchase motives consisted of conspicuous consumption motives, fashion and individuality motives, and economic motives. Clothing information use consisted of four factors: paper/display, personal advice, fashion show/clothing observation, and electronic media. Finally. clothing selection criteria consisted of practicability, fashion/individuality, and conformity, Multip1e regression revealed that there were significant effects of lifestyle factors on clothing purchase motives, information use, and selection criteria. For example, self-confidence factor had a negative impact on conspicuous consumption motive, personal advice information use, and fashion/individuality criteria. The relative importance of lifestyle factors were different according to different dimensions of clothing purchase motives, information use, and selection criteria.
Finding an optimal solution in MADN[(Multi-Attribute Decision-Making) problems is difficult, when the number of alternatives, or that of attributes is relatively large Most of the existing mathematical approaches arrive at a final solution on the basis of many unrealistic assumptions, without reflecting the decision-maker's preference structure exactly. In this paper we suggest a model that helps us find a group consensus without assessing these parameters in specific cardinal values. Therefore, This research provides a comprehensive Decision Making of the theory and methods applicable to the analysis of decisions that involve risk and multiple criteria attributes. after, The emphasis of the procedure will be on developments from the fields of decisions analysis and utility theory of Taguchi Method. This theoretical development will be illustrated through the discussion of several real-world application and a case study. When the multiple number of decision makers are involved in the decision making procedure, the problem of uncertainties invariably occurs, because of the different views between them. In this paper, New decision making model using Taguchi Method is applied to effectively model the multi-attribute-decision making(MADM) procedure in the uncertainties dominated two area(quantitative and qualitative factors), Quantitative factors evaluation is used Loss Function of Taguchi, qualitative factors evaluation is used 50 ratio by each specialist. thus it can be used for aiding of preferable alternative. as a result, We will be proved efficiency about New decision making model of applied Taguchi Method with Analytical presentation of all the expecting outcomes when a specific strategy or an alternative plan is selected under expecting future environment.
Automobile is in charge of most transportation system in modern urban city. However, in fact, cause of problem of road state, environment, and the other reasons, urban transit system is using as Mass Transit nowadays. Nevertheless Urban transit system is considering many kind of safety fact of that system which is increasing continuously nowadays, it occurs various train accident. This paper describes 3D Dimensional Measurement(EDM testing) and tensile testing results of carbody structure for crashed EMU(Electric Multiple Units). Tensile tests were performed on two different types of specimens in order to evaluate the strength changes before and after damages, obtained from plastic deformed area and nondeformed region of the crashed EMU. And Structural analysis of EMU was performed for the criteria of safety assessment. Structural analysis using commercial I-DEAS software provided important information on the stress distribution and load transfer mechanisms as well as the amount of damages during rolling stock crash. The testing results have been used to provide the critical information for the criteria of safety diagnosis.
Taguchi method is one of the most popular approaches for design optimization such that performance characteristics become robust to uncontrollable noise variables. However, most previous Taguchi method applications have addressed a single-characteristic problem. Problems with multiple characteristics are more common in practice. The multi-criteria decision making(MCDM) problem is to select the optimal one among multiple alternatives by integrating a number of criteria that may conflict with each other. Representative MCDM methods include TOPSIS(Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution), GRA(Grey Relational Analysis), PCA(Principal Component Analysis), fuzzy logic system, and so on. Therefore, numerous approaches have been conducted to deal with the multi-characteristic design problem by combining original Taguchi method and MCDM methods. In the MCDM problem, multiple criteria generally have different measurement units, which means that there may be a large difference in the physical value of the criteria and ultimately makes it difficult to integrate the measurements for the criteria. Therefore, the normalization technique is usually utilized to convert different units of criteria into one identical unit. There are four normalization techniques commonly used in MCDM problems, including vector normalization, linear scale transformation(max-min, max, or sum). However, the normalization techniques have several shortcomings and do not adequately incorporate the practical matters. For example, if certain alternative has maximum value of data for certain criterion, this alternative is considered as the solution in original process. However, if the maximum value of data does not satisfy the required degree of fulfillment of designer or customer, the alternative may not be considered as the solution. To solve this problem, this paper employs the desirability function that has been proposed in our previous research. The desirability function uses upper limit and lower limit in normalization process. The threshold points for establishing upper or lower limits let us know what degree of fulfillment of designer or customer is. This paper proposes a new design optimization technique for multi-characteristic design problem by integrating the Taguchi method and our desirability functions. Finally, the proposed technique is able to obtain the optimal solution that is robust to multi-characteristic performances.
The purpose of this study is to identify impacts of adolescent consumers' assertiveness and appearance concerns on their buying behaviors when they buy school uniforms. This research examined information sources and purchase evaluative criteria as related variables of clothing buying behaviors. The Internet survey was carried out to middle and high school students in Seoul. A total of 907 data were analyzed by factor analysis, frequency analysis and step-wise multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: From a result of factor analysis on adolescent consumers' assertiveness, appearance concerns and information sources and purchase evaluative criteria for buying school uniforms, each four variances showed factorial structures clearly. School uniform consumers' assertiveness and appearance concerns had significant influences on information sources and purchase evaluative criteria. Especially, an impact of conformity appearance concern was inclined to be high on information sources and purchase evaluative criteria.
The purpose of the study were to find how the trend had an effect on a buying motivation, a selecting standard, a frequency of use, a purchase place of cosmetics, makeup and the distinctive quality of social strata of regarding a clothing shopping orientation. The subjects of investigation were the women in twenties who live in Seoul and Chonnam province. This study had been done from May to July 2001, and 660 questionnaires were used for analysis. The measuring tools used were the items of matters of preceding studies and developed ones by researchers on which questionnaires were prepared. Factor and cluster analysis and Duncan's multiple range test, ANOVA, x$^2$-test, frequency, and percentage as analysis methods were used through SPSS. The results of the study were as follows. The clothing shopping orientation divided five shopping orientations such as ostentatious style, enjoyable style, economical style, and prudent style, and an attachment style for special brands and shops. On the basis of this result, the groups 20's females were classified into low groups by the cluster analysis; economical shopping group, indifferent shopping group, conspicuous shopping group, and recreational shopping group. In the case of cosmetics purchasing motives, evaluation criteria of cosmetics, stores selection criteria were found according to shopping orientation subdivision, and there was the significant difference between the groups in frequency of use, a purchase place of cosmetics.
Nuclear power plant site selection is a complex process and its successful completion is a critical milestone in the NPP development cycle. Proper siting of NPP will ensure public health and safety, environmental conservation, reduced project failure risks and a smooth NPP development process among other benefits. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the application of systems engineering to the problem of NPP siting in Kenya. The siting process demonstrated in this paper includes stakeholder need analysis where stakeholders are identified and their needs concerning NPP site are elicited and converted into system functional requirements. A value model is then developed and potential sites iteratively subjected to three types of criteria i.e. exclusionary criteria, avoidance criteria and suitability criteria. This process is used to identify the candidate sites. An additive value model; multiple objectives Decision Analysis (MODA) is then used to calculate candidate solutions values. The site with the highest solution value score is selected. Sensitivity studies using different criterion weight sets (thereby reflecting different viewpoints) can be conducted to assess their effect on the selection of a preferred site and thereby lend additional credibility to the decision process.

Specifically, the influences of the project activities on the problem solving skills and propensities of the children were investigated. Forty-four fifth graders were selected for the study. They performed the projects and made their products of it during five months on the units of "Weather" and "Our Body" Criteria for assessment of problem solving abilities were determined. The patterns reflected in products of the project activities were examined, then the observation of the subjects' problem solving behaviors and the interviews were performed based on the criteria. The results were analyzed through both of qualitative and quantitative approaches. In these analyses, the implementation of the science projects was found to contribute to the improvement in all sub-factors of problem solving, specially, skills associated with the propensities of problem identification and of the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data significantly increased
Recycling of used products and components has been considered as one of promising strategies for resolving environmental problems. In this respect, most manufacturing companies begin to consider possible recycling (e.q., reuse or re-production) of the components contained in their products. The primary objective of this research is to develop a multiple criteria decision making model for systematic management of recycle-oriented manufacturing components. The production planning problem of recycle-oriented manufacturing components is first formulated as a multiobjective mixed 0-1 integer programming model with three conflicting objectives. An interactive multiple criteria decision making method is then developed for solving the mathematical model. Also, an Input/Output analysis software is developed to help practitioners apply the model to real problems without much knowledge on computers and mathematical programming. A numerical example is used in examining the validity of the proposed model and to investigate the impact of the input variables on recycling production strategy.
