Development of Ground Control Software Platform for Industrial Application with Multiple small UAVs (복수 소형무인비행체 산업 응용을 위한 지상관제소프트웨어 플랫폼 개발)

  • Recently, as the roles and utilization fields of UAV become more diverse, demand for high - level mission has been increasing. To solve this issue, researches on the operation of multiple small UAVs and related systems have been actively carried out. The multiple small UAVs based application system has a problem that the task complexity of control personnel increases because the control personnel must continuously control and manage several small UAVs. Hence, it is necessary to develop a software platform that can perform efficient control in order to employ a multiple small UAVs based application system successfully. In this paper, we propose an effective ground control software platform for application systems using multiple small UAVs. We first analyze the requirements for the software platform, and design and implement software based on the analysis. Simulation using the X-plane flight simulator shows that multiple flight data are effectively displayed and that the image data transmitted from many small UAVs are simultaneously displayed in real time.

Smart Multiple-Tap System Based on WiFi for reduction of Standby-Power

  • In this paper, we proposed a smart multiple-tap system which a remote user with smartphone can control multiple-taps in order to reduce standby-power consumption more conveniently when plugged-in electric appliances are turned-off. Recently, several researches of smart multiple-tap using IoT technology has reported. However, in these researches, an additional device like as a server computer is necessary, or multiple-taps could be only remotely controlled by smartphone and not directly controlled by on/off switch. The proposed smart multiple-tap system does not need any additional device only if it has a WiFi router, and it can be used for user as well as remote control using smartphone application and physically direct control using contact switches like existing multiple-taps. Our approach is to develop a smart multiple-tap device capable of WiFi communication can each serve as a server or a client, and can be operated by the hybrid switch combining the on/off contact switch and the relay switch. We implemented the prototype of the proposed system composed of the smart multiple-tap device and the smartphone application, and the test of the prototype validates the proposed system.

  • When the multiple video sources are together transmitted through the channel of fixed bandwidth, the efficiently picture quality method is necessary. This paper presents the picture quality control method to keep the same distortion level among the video sources. We first find a model of distortion and bitrate for the multiplexing system of multiple sources. Then we obtain the bitrate for each source to have same distortion level among the sources by using the approximated model parameters for simple implementation.

  • At present, many applications independently provide access control for their own resources, for example Web, Databases and Operating Systems, etc. Such independent access control systems result in multiple access control configurations each of which deals with the access control in its own application context. Since those multiple configurations are operated in isolation, and maintained by possibly different administrators, they are likely to be incoherent. In this paper, we propose a logical specification to reason about multiple access control configurations. Our specification can be used to detect the incoherence in multiple configurations. Furthermore, it of offers many kinds of policies for multiple configurations that can capture several kinds of requirements for multiple access control systems.

Buck-Boost Interleaved Inverter Configuration for Multiple-Load Induction Cooking Application

  • Induction cooking application with multiple loads need high power inverters and appropriate control techniques. This paper proposes an inverter configuration with buck-boost converter for multiple load induction cooking application with independent control of each load. It uses one half-bridge for each load. For a given dc supply of $V_{DC}$, one more $V_{DC}$ is derived using buck-boost converter giving $2V_{DC}$ as the input to each half-bridge inverter. Series resonant loads are connected between the centre point of $2V_{DC}$ and each half-bridge. The output voltage across each load is like that of a full-bridge inverter. In the proposed configuration, half of the output power is supplied to each load directly from the source and remaining half of the output power is supplied to each load through buck-boost converter. With buck-boost converter, each half-bridge inverter output power is increased to a full-bridge inverter output power level. Each half-bridge is operated with constant and same switching frequency with asymmetrical duty cycle (ADC) control technique. By ADC, output power of each load is independently controlled. This configuration also offers reduced component count. The proposed inverter configuration is simulated and experimentally verified with two loads. Simulation and experimental results are in good agreement. This configuration can be extended to multiple loads.

  • A cost model, controlling multiple dependent subprocesses with minimum cost, is derived by renewal theory approach. The optimal multiple cause-selecting control chart and individual Y control chart are thus constructed to monitor the specific product quality and overall product quality contributed by the multiple dependent subprocesses. They may be used to maintain the process with minimum cost and effectively distinguish which component of the subprocesses is out of control. The optimal design parameters of the proposed control charts can be determined by minimizing the cost model using simple grid search method, An example is given to illustrate the application of the optimal multiple cause-selecting control chart and individual Y control chart.

  • In this paper, an integrated design of fault detection, diagnosis and reconfigurable control tot multi-input and multi-output system is proposed. It is based on the interacting multiple model estimation algorithm, which is one of the most cost-effective adaptive estimation techniques for systems involving structural and/or parametric changes. This research focuses on the method to recover the performance of a system with failed actuators by switching plant models and controllers appropriately. The proposed scheme is applied to a fault tolerant control design for flight control system.

  • Automatic guided vehicle(AGV) in the factory has an important role to advance the flexible manufacturing system. In this paper, we propose a novel object-transportation control algorithm of cooperative AGV systems to apply decentralized control scheme based on virtual-passivity. It is shown that the cooperative AGV systems ensure stability and the convergence to scaled multiple of each desired velocity field for multiple AGV systems. Finally, the application of proposed virtual passivity-based decentralized control algorithm via system augmentation is applied to be the tracking a circle. Also. the simulation results for the object-transportation by two AGV systems illustrate the validity of the proposed control scheme.

  • Inverter configurations for multiple-load induction cooking applications need development. Inverter configurations for induction cooking applications are used in home appliances based on single coil inverters. For multiple-load configurations, multiple coils are used. They require proper inverters, which provide independent control for each load and have fewer components. This paper presents a three-leg inverter configuration for three load induction cooking applications. Each induction coil powers one induction cooking load. This configuration operates with constant switching frequency and powers individual loads. The output power of the required load is controlled with a phase-shift control technique. This configuration is simulated and experimentally tested with three induction loads. The simulation and experimental results are in good agreement. This configuration can be extended to more loads.
