The study of game traffic has neglected by scientists, but as Internet gaming becomes more popular, multiplayer online games have become a significant element of Internet traffic. In this paper we analyze Internet traffic generated by sessions of multiplayer online games and study source models of multiplayer online game traffic. Our analysis shows that the empirical game traffic can be characterized by certain analytical model. We describe how our empirical traffic data set can be modeled and discuss how game server type influences interarrival distribution.
In this letter, we propose blackbox and scenario-based testing of multiplayer online games as well as simple load testing. Game testing is done from outside the source code, and the access to the source code is not required to testers because the game logic is described with a game description language and virtual game map. Instead of using a subset of the main game client for the test client, only game packet protocols and the sequence of packets are analyzed for new game testing. In addition, complex and various scenarios can be tested through combining defined actions. Scenario-based testing helps testers mimic real testing environments instead of doing simple load testing and improves the productivity of game testing.
Along with the development of mobile technology, mobile game has undergone a change from downloadable game to network game, where a large number of users connect to server and play real-time game with a mobile phone. In order to develop these mobile network games economically, a proper, suitable game engine is needed. This study proposes the result of design and implementation of RWMMO-GE(Realtime Wireless Massively Multiplayer Online RPG Game Engine) that is used to develop a mobile network game. The structure of RWMMO-GE, which is the research result of this study, consists of major components such as Network/Client Module, Object Module, Map Tool, Script Editor, and Character Editor. The characteristics of the multiplayer mobile game developed by this engine is that a large number of players can play real-time game in a single map, which implies a possibility of a new business model in this area. This research is a result of the RWMMO-GE supported by 2006 IT Excellent Technology Support Project(No:A1300-0601-0125) of IITA(Institute Information Technology Advancement).

Building a game has been used as effective and attractive way of teaching computer science. Building a usable Multi-player Game is requires important aspects of technology, teamwork and software engineering principles. The whole class was structured in to several teams and students needed to join one or two teams. Each team presented their progress, discussed future milestones and troubleshoots, updated documents for clearer communication and utilized SVN(Subversion) throughout the semester. Unlike usual class setting, all students worked collaboratively together like one company to achieve the goal. In one semester, students started from concept design and completed a working Multiplayer Online Game called "deBugger" (Fall 2009), and "World of Balance" (Fall 2011), while learning game design, 3D graphics, Game Engine, Server-client architecture, Game Protocol, network programming, database, Software Engineering principles, and large application development as a team project.

The main game architectures for multiplayer online games are the traditional client-server architectures, multi-server architectures and P2P(peer-to-peer) architectures. P2P architectures, due to their distributed and collaborative nature, have low infrastructure costs and can achieve high scalability as well as fast response time by creating direct connections between players. However, P2P architectures face many challenges. Distributing a game among peers makes maintaining control over the game more complex. These architectures also tend to be vulnerable to churn and cheating. Providing consistency control in P2P systems is also more difficult since conflicting updates might be executed at different sites resulting in inconsistency. In order to avoid or correct inconsistencies, most multiplayer games use a primary-copy replication approach where any update to the object has to be first performed on the primary copy. This paper presents the primary-copy model with the update dissemination mechanism that provides consistency control over an object in P2P architectures for multiplayer online games. The performance for this model is evaluated through simulation experiments and analysis.

Users connect to game server for considerably many hours and perform their roles in MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), users' immersion degree is very higher than other games, have known affluent contents make users play various roles in game world. However, although contents of games are improved quite much, MMORPG remains still boring game. It is because that the NPC (Non Player Character)' behavior patterns that are the most important elements to make games fun are so simple. So, in this paper we proposed a method to create NPC that react in player's inclination by implanting personality and emotion to NPC.
Client- server interaction in a massive multi-player online role-playing game(MMORPG) is usually made via network-message Passing. Since the game contents and elements in such MMORPGs are consistently evolved, messages need to be added, deleted, or modified accordingly. Therefore, game programmers are repeatedly required to write new programs or at least modify existing programs. The XML-based message definition system introduced in this paper facilitates the addition and modification of messages for game interaction ; it not only allows programmers to save a considerable amount of time for modifying existing messages or adding new messages but also relieves them of a serious burden of programming bugs. In addition, this system can be used for general client-server applications.

MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)에서의 게임 서버는 모든 플레이어에게 게임 정보(오브젝트, NPC, 이벤트, 다른 플레이어들의 정보 등)를 실시간으로 전송해야 한다.
The game industry of the Republic of Korea is being firmly located with great benefit and value. As internet developing quickly, the online game of the Republic of Korea boosted up to the level of the best in the world. Online Game has been developed with various types to make the user satisfy. Among those, MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) is the most popular game type. MMORPG games have getting more popularity in many foreign market but some have failed. Therefore this essay analyzes the MMORPG which has most popular through out the 4 kinds dividing in "Play and Human" by Roger Caillois. Moreover I try to analyze and experiment. Also through out the accomplishing Quest from the Goonzu which is developed and serviced in China, it experimented and it analyzed. With the help of information technology.
