Two-dimemsional liquid-solid multiphase fluid dynamics was used to analyze the suspension and mix of liquid fuel and solid particles in fuel tank installed mixing impeller. In this paper, the multiphase flow was modeled using Eulerian Grandular Multiphase model. Experimental measurements of the axial distribution of solids concentration in stirred tanks under 12vol% solid loading were used for comparison with the CFD simulation. Four cases for the impeller location and flow pumping direction also were reviewed under 10.5% solids loading and 700rpm in fuel mix tank. The result of quality of suspension was compared with each cases and the impeller location and operation of mixing fuel tank was established.
At present among the most important problems in the field of traction systems of railway vehicles are the following: 1) the minimization of the mass-and-overall dimensions of the drive systems; 2) the increase of the drive systems reliability and obtaining their higher fault-tolerance abilities; 3) the minimization of the motion speed pulsations and its oscillations, etc. The results of the researches received by the authors of this paper show that the use of the multiphase (i.e. having the number of phases more than four) inverter-fed induction motors in these traction systems is the most effective way of solving the above mentioned problems. In this case the motion speed oscillations can be decreased only by the increase of the drive phase number without any change in the inverter control algorithm. In addition, the application of some non-traditional control methods in the multiphase asynchronous traction drive system of a railway vehicle allows to decrease the mass-and-overall dimensions of the system and to improve its reliability and some other technical-and economic characteristics.
The paper concentrates on an experimental study of the pressure drop in double-layered packed beds formed by glass spheres, having the configuration of horizontal and vertical stratification. Both single-phase and two-phase flow tests are performed. The pressure drop during the test is recorded and the measured data are compared with those of homogeneous beds consisting of mono-size particles. The results show that for the horizontally stratified bed with fine particles atop coarse particles, the pressure drop in top layer is found higher than those of homogenous bed consisting of the same smaller size particles, while the measured pressure drop of bottom part is similar with those of similar homogenous bed. But for the homologous bed with upside-down structure, the stratification has little or no effect on the pressure drop of the horizontally stratified bed, and the pressure drop of each layer is almost same as that of homogeneous bed packed with corresponding spheres. Additionally, in vertically stratified bed, the pressure drops on the left and right side is almost equal and between those in homogeneous beds. It is speculated that vertically stratified structure may lead to lateral flow which redistributes the flow rate in different parts of packed bed.

The crystal structure of ZnS fabricated by gas-liquid phase reaction was obtained by XRD and refined by RIETAN near R$_{wp}$ factor 10%. The increasement of HCP phase depended on extra H$_2$S gas and the lattice parameter and crystalline size changed by the relative ratio of multiphase. Using ZnS of the different multiphase ratio and crystalline size, sintered ZnS:Cu, Al green phosphor and the CL property resulted optimum luminescence in the range of 91~94% and 150~190$\AA$, respectably, FCC/HCP ratio and crystalline size. As changing of structure ratio, the reason of different luminescence property is now studying. As well as, after XRD pattern of TiO$_2$powder fitted by RIETAN and the structure factor using MEED method simulated about each atom of (002) plane. Additionally, we proposed RIETAN and MEED were the methods of the study of luminescence mechanism for many phosphor materials.s.

Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) serves as an irreplaceable tool to probe the complexities of multiphase flow and identify turbulent mechanisms that elude conventional experimental measurement techniques. The insights unlocked via its careful analysis can be used to guide the formulation and development of turbulence models used in multiphase computational fluid dynamics simulations of nuclear reactor applications. Here, we perform statistical analyses of DNS bubbly flow data generated by Bolotnov ($Re_{\tau}=400$) and LueTryggvason ($Re_{\tau}=150$), examining single-point statistics of mean and turbulent liquid properties, turbulent kinetic energy budgets, and two-point correlations in space and time. Deformability of the bubble interface is shown to have a dramatic impact on the liquid turbulent stresses and energy budgets. A reduction in temporal and spatial correlations for the streamwise turbulent stress (uu) is also observed at wall-normal distances of $y^+=15$, $y/{\delta}=0.5$, and $y/{\delta}=1.0$. These observations motivate the need for adaptation of length and time scales for bubble-induced turbulence models and serve as guidelines for future analyses of DNS bubbly flow data.
Motivated by reducing the uncertainties in quantification of debris bed coolability, this paper reports an experimental study on two-phase flow resistances and interfacial drag in packed porous beds. The experiments are performed on the DEBECO-LT (DEbris BEd COolability-Low Temperature) test facility which is constructed to investigate the adiabatic single and two phase flow in porous beds. The pressure drops are measured when air-water two phase flow passes through the porous beds packed with different size particles, and the effects of interfacial drag are studied especially. The results show that, for two phase flow through the beds packed with small size particles such as 1.5 mm and 2 mm spheres, the contribution of interfacial drag to the pressure drops is weak and ignorable, while the significant effects are conducted on the pressure drops of the beds with bigger size particles like 3 mm and 6 mm spheres, where the interfacial drag in beds with larger particles will result in a descent-ascent tendency in the pressure drop curves along with the fluid velocity, and the effect of interfacial drag should be considered in the debris coolability analysis models for beds with bigger size particles.
This study focuses on computational particle fluid dynamics (CPFD) modeling for the fast pyrolysis of biomass in a conical spouted bed reactor. The CPFD simulation was conducted to understand the hydrodynamics, heat transfer, and biomass fast pyrolysis reaction of the conical spouted bed reactor and the multiphase-particle in cell (MP-PIC) model was used to investigate the fast pyrolysis of biomass in a conical spouted bed reactor. A two-stage semi-global kinetics model was applied to model the fast pyrolysis reaction of biomass and the commercial code (Barracuda) was used in simulations. The temperature of solid particles in a conical spouted bed reactor showed a uniform temperature distribution along the reactor height. The yield of fast pyrolysis products from the simulation was compared with the experimental data; the yield of fast pyrolysis products was 74.1wt.% tar, 17.4wt.% gas, and 8.5wt.% char. The comparison of experimental measurements and model predictions shows the model's accuracy. The CPFD simulation results had great potential to aid the future design and optimization of the fast pyrolysis process for biomass.

This paper describes a multiphase delay-locked loop (DLL) that generates a 32-phase output clock over the operating frequency range of 40 MHz to 280 MHz. The matrix-based delay line is used for high resolution of 1-bit delay. A calibration scheme, which improves the linearity of a delay line, is achieved by calibrating the nonlinearity of the input stage of the matrix. The multi-phase DLL is fabricated by using 0.11-${\mu}m$ CMOS process with a 1.2 V supply. At the operating frequency of 125MHz, the measurement results shows that the DNL is less than +0.51/-0.12 LSB, and the measured peak-to-peak jitter of the multi-phase DLL is 30 ps with input peak-to-peak jitter of 12.9 ps. The area and power consumption of the implemented DLL are $480{\times}550{\mu}m^2$ and 9.6 mW at the supply voltage of 1.2 V, respectively.
The aim in the present work is to simulate accident scenarios of AP1000 during the small-break loss-of-coolant accident (SBLOCA) and investigate the performance and behavior of automatic depressurization system (ADS) during accidents by using MIDAC (The Module In-vessel Degradation severe accident Analysis Code). Four types of accidents with different hypothetical conditions were analyzed in this study. The impact on the thermal-hydraulic of the reactor coolant system (RCS), the passive core cooling system and core degradation was researched by comparing these types. The results show that the RCS depressurization becomes faster, the core makeup tanks (CMT) and accumulators (ACC) are activated earlier and the effect of gravity water injection is more obvious along with more ADS valves open. The open of the only ADS1-3 can't stop the core degradation on the basis of the first type of the accident. The open of ADS1-3 has a great impact on the injection time of ACC and CMT. The core can remain intact for a long time and the core degradation can be prevent by the open of ADS-4. The all results are significant and meaningful to understand the performance and behavior of the ADS during the typical SBLOCA.
Hydrate dissociation is required to produce methane, which generates both water and methane. Thus, multiphase fluid flow and desalination are expected during methane production, which causes the fine migration and clogging in pores. The goal of this study is to explore the effects of both multiphase fluid flow and desalination on the migration and clogging of kaolin particles as typical fines. The results are as follows : (1) the larger the pore size is, the more mounting the critical clogging concentration is, (2) kaolin particles are more easily clustering and clogging in deionized water than salty water, and (3) the critical clogging concentration of kaolin in multiphase fluid flow is lower than in singlephase fluid flow. Therefore, clustering and clogging of kaolin within pore occur easily due to desalination and multiphase fluid flow when methane is produced from hydrates, and the efficiency of methane production is expected to decrease due to the degradation of permeability coefficient.
