  • Multimedia has to carry data of heterogeous types. Multicast communication techniques can supply the most appropriate infrastructures to such multimedia. Of many multicast protocols, the core based tree (CBT) protocol is the most concentrative studies are conducted on. The CBT places a core router at center of the shared tree and transfers data through the tore router. However, the CBT has two problems due to centralizing all network traffics into a core router. First it can raise bottleneck effect at a core router. Second, it is possible to make an additive processing overhead when core router is distant from receivers. To cope with the problems, this paper proposes an intelligent anycast routing protocol. The anycast routing attempts to distribute the centralized traffic into plural core routers by using a knowledge-based algorithm. The anycast routing estimates the traffic characteristics of multimedia data far each multicast source, and achieves effectively the distributing that places an appropriate core router to process the incoming traffic based on the traffic information in the event that request of receivers are raised. This method prevent the additional overhead to distribute traffic because an individual core router uses the information estimated to multicast sources connected to oneself and the traffic processing statistics shared with other core neuters.

  • We use the call routing to interpret the number or name for routing address in multimedia internet. The routing address is used for connection setup. The traffic engineering consists of traffic management, capacity management and network planning. In this paper, in the traffic management function, the basic functions for call routing and connection/bearer-path routing will be presented.

  • Sensors have limited resources in sensor networks, so efficient use of energy is important. Representative clustering methods, LEACH, LEACHC, TEEN generally use direct transmission methods from cluster headers to the sink node to pass collected data. However, the communication distance of the sensor nodes at low cost and at low power is not long, it requires a data transfer through the multi-hop to transmit data to the sink node. In the existing cluster-based sensor network studies, cluster process and route selection process are performed separately in order to configure the routing path to the sink node. In this paper, in order to use the energy of the sensor nodes that have limited resources efficiently, a cluster-based multi-hop routing protocol which merges the clustering process and routing process is proposed. And the proposed method complements the problem of uneven cluster creation that may occur in probabilistic cluster methods and increases the energy efficiency of whole sensor nodes.

  • Wireless sensor network(WSN) is being used in various fields such as reconnaissance, echelon scale identification, weather observation, etc. using small sensors in an environment without a network infrastructure environment. In addition, WSN uses limited battery power, so study on routing protocols to extend the lifetime of the network is important. PEGASIS, a hierarchical routing protocol, accounts for the majority of energy-efficient routing protocol studies and is well known as a representative protocol. In this study, based on PEGASIS, we propose a protocol that constructs multiple chains rather than one chain using the AoA of nodes. The proposed protocol has the advantage of reducing the transmission distance of nodes and eliminating unnecessary transmissions, thereby increasing energy efficiency compared to the existing protocols.

  • A mobile Ad Hoc network is a dynamic mobile wireless network that can be formed without the need for any pre-existing wired or wireless infrastructure. A mobile ad hoc node has limited battery capacity. Hence, Ad Hoc routing protocol ought to be energy conservative. Previous energy aware routing has limit in fairness among nodes and network wide power consumption. In this research, we propose a new routing protocol called Clustering Based Energy-Aware Routing(CBEAR) which can improve the problems. Simulation results show that the routing protocol improves fairness and network wide power consumption as well as life time of nodes.

  • Ad-Hoc network is consisted with the device of wireless communication. Therefore, the organization of network is dynamic and the changing communication channel is essential. According this, the study of secure routing route and certification technique has to be needed. In we research, we suggest not only the secure routing scheme in Ad-Hoc circumstance but also the method that user can be serviced the type of network which is connected Ad-Hoc network and wireless lam. In case of the routing form of Ad-Hoc Network, although in preexist study, when the device of organization withdraws, routing is needed, in we research, we suggest the detour route that is used hop frequency. We can offer the service of ubiquitous that the certification of secure user and the creation of routing route in Ad-Hoc network.

  • A mobile ad-hoc network is composed of only mobile nodes, which are distributed dynamically, without any wired backbone or centralized entities. Since the existing works on ad-hoc routing protocol are mostly biased toward a military application, we need a new routing scheme for a support of multimedia services in mobile ad-hoc networks. Therefore, we propose a novel scheme that can support a variety of traffic attributes and can be applicable to high-speed and multimedia data services in mobile ad-hoc networks by using adaptive transmission power level. As a result of simulation, the proposed scheme has better performance than conventional method, which is performed with uniform transmission power level, in view of route query delay time.

  • The IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) is used for providing multimedia services to network provider. The IMS is composed of many nodes, depending on their function. According to the status (fault, performance, etc.) of each node, we need to provide dynamic routing algorithm. In this paper, we propose a dynamic routing algorithm for management of the IMS nodes using SNMP based on FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security) in the IMS network.

  • Expansion of internet and construction of high speed network which require multimedia services like MMORPG are exceeding the infra-structure. In this work, CBT is analyzed by focusing on the multicast routing protoco and the algorithm which is transformable to Anycast scheme from CBT scheme is suggested to adapt game traffic. Anycast routing scheme is suitable to distribute high density traffic. Simulation model was set per a number of group and group member, which enabled to reflect real environments. Performance evaluation of routing based on the characteristics of end-to-end delay of CBT and Anycast was mainly focused, The result showed that Anycast method was improved up 8.7%, 25.5%, 34.0%, 38.6% and 51.8%, 56.6% comparing with PIM-DM and CBT routing when packet site was 128, 512 and 1K byte respectively. From the simulation, CBT/Anycast routing scheme can be presented as a flexible and solid solution for the MMORPG traffic to improve the delay characteristics of game packets.

  • This paper considers the analysis of QoS(Quality of Service) routing mechanisms to support the NGIs(Next Generation Internets). NGIs are constructing high-speed IP layer networks to support all data services. To support real time multimedia services on NGIs, it is important to satisfy the required QoS parameters on networks. To support QoS requirements for NGI networks, new QoS routing methods are essential. In this paper, serveral new QoS routing algorithms are explained. Some problems for the high speed QoS routing will be explained and possible solutions are suggested.
