A Study on Teaching using Website 'Code.org' in Programming Education based on Computational Thinking (컴퓨팅 사고력이 중요한 프로그래밍 교육에서 'code.org'를 활용한 교수방안)

  • Learning computational thinking is very important in programming education. Computational thinking refers to the problem solving ability based on the theories of computer science, indicating the importance of algorithm thinking. That is the reason for focusing on promoting creativity and improving the problem solving ability of the students in programming education. This paper commented the elements to consider for teachers when teaching computational thinking to elementary school students with online coding education website 'code.org' that helps beginners have easy programming experiences based on the characteristics of the website, and proposed the appropriate teaching methods.

  • In the latest school spot, practical use about web based multimedia is increasing very greatly. Accordingly, various meta-data element definition to search multimedia data easy is appearing but international standard is presented as the main-stream. Opinion of domestic spot teachers is hardly reflected. Hereupon, in this study, wish to searches multimedia data that is included inside web page reflecting opinion of domestic spot teachers efficiently, defines meta-data element and designs XML DTD for actuality practical use. This study finding sees that can raise public ownership and practical use of multimedia data.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop Parental Educational Multimedia System for Health Promotion of Children in Chungnam province. This system includes education programs for information of diseases, prevention of disease, and health promotion of children. Computer language used in this study were html, OS used was Microsoftware NT Server 4.0, the graphic tool was Adobe Photoshop 5.5, and Webpage tool was Notepade. The results of this study were show at internet 'www. ggomalove.co.kr'. Finally, the author suggests that this system could be adequately applied to promoting children's health. Further this study contributes to designing an appropriate health promotion strategy for children.

  • Digital textbooks, considered as core textbooks tailored to the abilities and interests of students, provide them with a combination of textbooks, reference books, workbooks, dictionaries and multimedia contents. In this paper, we employ a modified version of the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM), a model which has been widely used and empirically validated to explain why individuals use a particular information technology(IT). This paper proposes that additional variables, such as educational impacts, contents quality, interaction and enjoyment, enhance our understanding of behaviors of pilot school teachers in using multimedia-based digital textbooks as a substitute for traditional paper-version of textbooks. A structural equation model is employed with survey data from 157 pilot school teachers in pilot program supported by Korean government and KERIS(Korea Education & Research Information Service), to empirically assess the strength of the relationships in the proposed model. It is hoped that the results from this study provide meaningful insight into the development and delivery of high quality digital textbooks.

  • 본 논문은 TFT-LCD 영상에서 결함을 자동검색하여 결함이 있는 LCD 영상의 경우 결함이 있는 LCD 패턴을 정확하게 추출해 내는 방법을 제안하였다. TFT-LCD 영상에서 결함이 있는 LCD 패턴 검색은 세단계로 이루어진다. 1단계는 먼저 입력영상에서 LCD 패턴영상의 특징을 이용하여 각 LCD 패턴의 기준점을 찾는다. 2단계는 1단계에서 찾은 여러 기준점 중에서 필터링과정을 통하여 정확한 한 개의 기준점을 최종 선택한다. 마지막으로 3단계에서는 최종적으로 선택된 기준점을 이용하여 결함정의(결함중심 및 결함사이즈)를 이용하여 결함이 포함되어 있는 LCD 패턴을 추출한다. 제안된 결함패턴 추출 알고리즘의 정확성은 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 그 효용성을 증명하였다.

  • The rapid exchanges of mobile computing environment and development of wireless communication are providing many effects for learning activity of students. Recently, PDA system developers which are studying memory capacity, communication speed and size of screen support techniques to be capable of learning from students in the wireless or moving environment. In this viewpoints, this paper has a purpose to design multimedia learning system to be able to do with sound lecture contents. The implemented system largely consists of two parts which have the teacher module and students module. The one manages learning progress of students, class management, bulletin board and etc. The other is capable of using studying and bulletin functions. The main idea of this research is focus to upgrade the effect of learning without almost treating the existing studies, which can be listening sound lecture and also seeing text and image at the same time.

  • New media is an emerging industry sector. It sits at the nexus of what has become a main vehicle of the Knowledge Based Economy. the crossroads where the use of interactive multimedia technology meets the traditional uses of media. The current Education information Act provided school with PC, multimedia labs and connection to internet. Having such a facility in schools encourage teachers and students to use computers more often. Teachers demand for more educational multimedia contents than they can find in the market. Although there are many good contents, teachers find them unfit or inflexible for their curriculum. The purpose of this study is to identify the elements of standard multimedia studio facilities to develop multimedia contents in primary and secondary schools. The result of this study will provide guidelines for schools to facilitate their multimedia studio for teaching and learning activities, and developing contents for effective use of their facilities.

  • The purpose of the study was to develope e-Learning multimedia resource management system to support developing of e-Learning contents. This system is to create and manage multimedia resources like video, audio, and image more easily. We analyzed and redesigned media asset management system that would be used in broadcast, press, and industry. This system has SCORM metadata and is consisted of Windows 2003 server and RDBMS. The survey was conducted to investigate usability and satisfaction for the developed system.

Study on the Factors Influencing the Quality of a Cyber Lecture

  • There are numerous advantages of online education to the students and to the institution. There are important factors to be considered for a successful online education. The purposes of this paper are to investigate students' viewpoints, called factors, to the cyber class and analyze these factors to be a successful cyber class. For theses purposes, we developed and constructed the cyber lecture, and we surveyed student evaluations two times for the cyber lecture in the middle and at the end. We found that students view the cyber class with four factors. Assessments on factors were changed during the cyber class and were different according to students' background.
