교통정보는 지상파 DMB에서 핵심적인 콘텐츠로 주목받고 있는 것 중에 하나이다. 본 논문은 지상파 DMB에서 신속히 교통정보를 제공하기 위하여, 데이타 수집부터 콘텐츠 전송까지, 모든 과정을 자동으로 수행하는 데이타방송시스템을 제안하고, 이를 구현한다. 본 연구에서 제안한 데이터방송시스템은 크게, 실시간으로 교통데이타를 수집 가공하는 교통정보통합시스템, 콘텐츠를 자동으로 생성 및 검증하는 교통정보저작시스템, 생성된 콘텐츠의 송출을 담당하는 교통정보전송시스템으로 나누어져 있다. 이러한 서브시스템(subsystem)들의 기능과 구성요소, 그리고 상호작용에 대하여 설명한다. 제안하는 데이타방송시스템은 BWS유형의 콘텐츠를, 지상파 DMB 오디오방송의 부가데이타(PAD)로 제공한다. 마지막으로 데이타방송시스템의 구현결과와 향후 개선사항에 대하여 설명한다.

기존의 비디오 파일 시스템에서는 비디오 파일들이 대용량의 하드디스크 혹은 디스크 어레이를 보유한 고성능 서버에 저장되어 있다. 3D 인터넷 방송을 위해서는 비디오 파일을 다수의 클라이언트들에게 전송하는 과정에서 실시간 처리가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 5G 환경에서 많은 사용자에게 실시간으로 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 3D 인터넷 방송 시스템의 설계를 보여준다. IP 멀티캐스트 기술은 라우터 환경의 제약으로 인하여 실제 대부분의 인터넷을 통한 동영상 콘텐츠 전송은 유니캐스트 기반의 서비스가 대부분이다. 또한 VOD와 같은 On-Demand 환경의 멀티미디어 방송 서비스 등은 서비스 제공자에게 막대한 시스템과 네트워크 자원을 요구하므로 3D 인터넷 방송 환경에 적용하기 어렵다. 사용자 시스템 자원을 통한 전송 방법으로서 활발히 연구가 진행되고 있는 오버레이 멀티캐스트 기법은 라이브 방송, 화상회의 등의 다수의 사용자 그룹 전송에 적합한 응용을 위해 최적화 되어 있어 IP 멀티캐스트 대안으로서 각광 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 호스트 기반 멀티캐스트에서 발생하는 성능 저하 요인들을 최소화하여 효율적인 데이터 전송을 제공하는 3D 인터넷 방송 시스템을 구성한다.

Nowadays, distributed mobility management (DMM) approaches have been widely adopted to address the limitations of centralized architectural methods to support seamless data transmission schemes in wireless sensor networks. This paper deals with the end-to-end (E2E) integration of Network Mobility (NEMO) basic support protocol in distributed wireless sensor network systems in structural health and environmental monitoring of social overhead capital (SOC) public infrastructures such as bridges, national highways, tunnels, and railroads. The proposed scheme takes advantage of the features of both the NEMO basic support protocol and partially distributed network-based DMM framework in providing seamless data transmission and robust mobility support. The E2E seamless data transmission scheme allows mobile users to roam from fixed-point network access locations and mobile platforms (i.e., vehicles such as cars, buses, and trains) without disconnecting its current sessions (i.e., seamless handover).

These fields are integrated to visualize and finalize the proposed development, in simulation environment. SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems and distributed control systems (DCSs) are widely deployed in all over the world, which are designed to control the industrial infrastructures, in real ways. To supervise and control the various parts of designed systems; trends to require a deep knowledge to understand the overall functional needs of industries, which could be a big challenge. Industrial field devices (or network sensors) are usually distributed in many locations and are controlled from centralized site (or main control center); the communication provides various signs of security issues. To handle these issues, the research contribution will twofold: a method using cryptography is deployed in critical systems for security purposes and overall transmission is controlled from main controller site. At controller site, multimedia components are employed to control the overall transmission graphically, such as system communication, bytes flows, security embedded parameters and others, by the means of multimedia technology.

스케일러블 비디오 부호화 (Scalable Video coding)는 시간, 공간, 화질의 스케일러빌러티를 가지는 비트스트림을 제공하므로, 가변하는 네트워크 환경에서 QoS 를 만족시키는 비디오 서비스를 가능케 한다. 먼저 스케일러블 비디오 부호화에서 실시간으로 가변 가능한 스케일러빌러티에 대한 분석을 하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 본 논문에서는 실시간으로 스케일러블 비디오 비트스트림의 시간, 및 화질을 변화하며 추출할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 JSVM2.0에 구현되었으며, 실험 결과는 제안한 방법이 유효함을 보여준다.

비디오는 broadcasting, 교육, 출판과 군사 등 다양한 응용들과 함께 멀티미디어 컴퓨팅과 통신 환경의 중요한 요소가 되었다. 멀티미디어 데이터 검색을 위한 효과적인 방법의 필요성은 대용량의 멀티미디어 응용들에서 날로 증가하고 있다. 따라서, 비디오 데이터의 검색과 표현은 비디오 데이터베이스에서 주요 연구 이슈 중에 하나가 되었다. 비디오 데이터의 표현 방법으로 주로 2가지 접근 방법이 있다: (1) 내용 기반 비디오 검색 과 (2) 주석 기반 비디오 검색. 이 논문은 의미 기반 주석을 이용한 비디오 검색 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다.

This paper presents an effective algorithm for inserting an MPEG-2 transport stream (TS) into a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) ensemble without any bandwidth waste in a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) transmission system. The key technologies of this algorithm include packet rate control and program clock reference correction, which are important for TS processing. The proposed algorithms are applied to the various DMB transmission systems based on Eureka-147, and the performance of the proposed algorithm is confirmed through the experimental DMB broadcasting.

The era of convergence is being applied to all areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The convergence of broadcasting service and communication service almost occurs on smart devices including smartphone. The smart hybrid Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is a typical example of the convergence of broadcasting and wireless communication service. The hybrid mobile broadcasting service can support seamless video, 3D, high quality, and additional data services based on network connection between the broadcasting and wireless network. The gateway and terminal (including apps on the smartphone) take the role of the main components on the hybrid service. This paper presents the service concept, main components structure, the implementation of gateway and terminals, and field test to the urban areas for the mobile hybrid system.

This letter proposes a conditional access system (CAS) suitable for use in terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB), based on an effective multiplexing method to provide encrypted T-DMB services. Specifically, the proposed multiplexing method for a CAS is designed to reduce the additional bit rate while assuring easy access to the designated encrypted services. Finally, the performance of the implemented CAS is confirmed through implementation and a broadcasting experiment under various service environments.

In this paper, we first summarize key components of integrated services of telecommunication and broadcasting. Definitions and typology of th e integrated services are organized th rough comprehensive analysis of recent convergence trend of telecommunications and broadcasting. Various issues on regulations, society cultures, and technical aspects of the convergence are identified. Next, we deal with the digital media broadcasting service which is one of the technical culmination of the telecommunication and broadcasting merged services. The focus of the analysis has been made on policy implications and comparative details with other similar services in the same category. Finally, we suggest the perspectives on forthcoming digital media broadcasting service developments, and implications to cope with this emerging technological breakthrough.
