상표충성도에 따른 여성복 브랜드 포지셔닝 (Women's Wear Brand Positioning According to Brand Loyalty)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify brand loyally of women's wear and construct brand positioning maps by using multidimensional scaling(MDS). There were significant differences between brand loyal and indifferent group in ages, income, occupation status and level of education. Significant differences were found between groups in the degree of importance of attributes (design/color, fashion, quality, store image, salesperson's attitude and brand reputation) when evaluating brands. The positioning maps upon the similarity and preference of brand image were composed by use of MDS.

붓스트랩을 이용한 다차원척도법의 효율성 연구 (A study on the efficiency of multidimensional scalin using bootstrap method)

  • 다차원척도법은 다변량분석에서 개체들을 대상으로 변수들을 측정한 후에 개체들 사이의 비유사성을 측정하고, 그 값들 혹은 반복하여 측정된 경우에는 그 값들의 평균을 이용하여 개체들을 저차원의 공간상에 도시화시켜 표현하는 분석방법이다. 본 논문에서는 응답자의 답변에 기초하여 비유사성을 측정할 때 이상치 또는 응답자의 답변이 불성실할 경우 발생하는 변이문제와 개체들 간의 거리에 대한 통계적 추론 문제에 붓스트랩 방법을 적용하는 내용을 다루고, 활용가능성을 무료일간지에 대한 유사성 평가 자료를 이용하여 실증적으로 분석하였다.

Improving Interpretability of Multivariate Data Through Rotations of Artificial Variates

  • It is usual that multivariate data analysis produces related (small number of) artificial variates for data reduction. Among them, refer to MDS(multidimensional scaling), MDPREF(multidimensional preference analysis), CDA(canonical discriminant analysis), CCA(canonical correlation analysis) and FA(factor analysis). Varimax rotation of artificial variables which is originally invented in FA for easy interpretations is applied to diverse multivariate techniques mentioned above. Real data analysisis is performed in order to manifest that rotation improves interpretations of artificial variables.

다차원 척도기법을 이용한 여성 기성복의 상품 이미지에 관한 연구 (A study on Brand Image of Korea Women's Apparel Market with Multidimensional Scaling)

  • This article was written with two purposes in mind. The first purpose was to introduce clothing and textile community who may not be familiar with Multidimensional Scaling(MDS) with usefulness of the new technique in the area of fashion merchandising. The second purpose was to present the results of an empirical study on brand image utilizing MDS and its related technique as the main analysis tools. The main objective of the empirical study was to gain a better understanding of consumer's brand image by relating differences in perception and attributes of clothing in women's ready-to wear market. For this empirical study, the ten brands and the fifteen attributes of clothing were chosen. The questionnaire consisting of questions asking about the similarity and attributes of clothing between selected brands was administrated to 185 career women during summer in 1989. Data were analyzed cluster analysis, and KYST and PROFIT in MDS program. The results were as follows: 1. The similarities data for the ten selected brand by using KYST program of MDS drawed the perceptual map. The results of this perceptual map showed that the selected brand were grouped into three clusters. 2. In order to get a somewhat objective view of which attributes consumers are attributing to each brand, PROFIT program was used. As a result, it was revealed that assortment depth / width, price, youth-oriented style, possibility of various social activity were significant attributes in consumer's brand choice rather than physical attributes of clothing such as quality or durability. This may imply that consumer orientation in rapidly changing environments of women's apparel market was its basic idea, and the focus of all fashion merchandising activities was put on need's and the response of consumer group who are the object of the target. Implicating for future research as well as for strategy of brand positioning were also suggested.

Assessment of Educational Conditions for 28 National Universities in South Korea

  • Purpose - In this paper, we categorize and segment the 28 national universities in South Korea and measure the degree of dissimilarity (or similarity) between pairs of ones by using dissimilarity distance matrix and cluster analysis, respectively, based on the seven quantitative evaluation of educational conditions (percentage of small-scale courses, percentage of lecture by the faculty, collection of books per student, material purchase per student, percentage of building capacity, percentage of real estate capacity and rate of accommodation) in 2015. In addition, multidimensional scaling (MDS) techniques can obtain visual representation for exploring patterns of proximities among 28 national universities based on seven attributes of educational conditions. Research design, data, and methodology - This work is carried out by the 2015 Announcement of University Information, which is provided by Ministry of Education in South Korea and utilized by multivariate analyses with CLUSTER, PROXIMITIES and ALSCAL modules in IBM SPSS 23.0. Results - We make certain that 28 national universities can be categorized into five clusters which have similar traits by applying two-stage cluster analysis. MDS is utilized to perform positioning of grouped places of cluster and 28 national universities joining every cluster. Conclusions - Both types and traits of each national university can be relatively assessed and practically utilized for each university competitiveness based on underlying results.

  • 본 연구는 웹 페이지 디자인의 감성모형을 구축하기 위해 실시되었다. 감성요소를 추출하기 위하여 첫째, 감성을 표현하는 어휘를 수집하고, 둘째, 감성어휘를 의미미분법을 사용해서 분류하고 셋째, 요인분석과 다차원척도법의 통계분석을 사용하였다. 본 연구결과로 얻어진 18개의 대표 어휘는 '독특하다. 신선하다, 화려하다. 소프트하다. 차갑다, 따뜻하다. 생생하다, 간단하다, 간결하다, 이색적이다, 도회적이다, 환하다, 칙칙하다, 밝다, 어둡다. 동적이다, 남성적이다, 딱딱하다'였으며, 세 개의 '밝다-어둡다', '소프트하다-딱딱하다', '간단하다-화려하다'의 감성 공간을 얻을 수 있었다.

해양스포츠 종목에 따른 이미지 포지셔닝 전략에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Image Positioning Strategy according to the Games of Marine Sports)

  • This study intended to understand similarity of image between games and position of image attribute perceived by consumers according to the games of marine sports using MDS (Multidimensional Scaling). Through the foregoing, this study aims to provide preliminary data for establishing marketing strategies for games of marine sports by accurately understanding images of marines sports perceived by consumers. For survey targets, this study selected students of K University located in Gyeonggi-do as a population, and extracted samples using convenience sampling out of non-probability sampling methods targeting 200 students who showed intention of participation in this study, and total 188 sheets of questionnaire were used as final data excepting 12 sheets that are filled up unfaithfully or considered unreliable. For data processing, this study conducted Frequency Analysis, Descriptive Statistical Analysis, Reliability Analysis, MDS (Multidimensional Scaling) and Multiple Regression Analysis, and study results show that water ski and wakeboard(.602) have the most similar image attribute, indicating that image attributes of scuba diving and water ski(2.031) are positioned farthest with each other. As for image attribute, image attribute of water ski has appearance and progressiveness, windsurfing has an image attribute of positive, scuba diving has an image attribute of negation, and marin rafting has an image attribute of friendliness.

Multidimensional Scaling Analysis of the Proximity of Photosynthesis Concepts In Korean Students

  • Multidimensional scaling can be used to identify relationships among concepts, revealing the structure of the cognitive framework by measuring distances within perceptual maps. The current study sought to examine the relationships among concepts related to photosynthesis in 2,844 $3^{rd}-11^{th}$ grade science students. The questionnaire included items on 'location,' 'products,' 'reactants,' and 'environmental factors', presenting images related to each theme. Students provided responses corresponding to particular topics, and reported the extent to which the concept was related to the topic on a scale from 1 to 30. The survey results were as follows: first, students were not able to clearly distinguish between or understand the four main topics. Second, students organized their cognitive structures by closely associating related concepts after learning. Third, the presented concepts revealed a mixture of scientific and non-scientific concepts, suggesting that students needed to clearly distinguish the preconceptions through which they organized concepts, so that they are suitable for cognitive structures based on learning. Furthermore, non-scientific concepts within perceptions were consistently maintained throughout learning, affecting the proximity of scientific concepts.

  • 이용자들은 유사문서를 검색할 때, 각 가지 문서의 시각적표현을 통하여 도움을 얻게 되며, 모든 정보검색에 관한 연구는 이용자들의 다양한 요구를 충족시키기 위한 여러 가지의 해결책을 제시하고 있다. 제안되어진 해결책은 알파벳 순서로 만들어 진 파피루스 문서로부터 카드목록, 마이크로 필름을 이용한 저장, 컴퓨터 디스크를 이용한 파일 보관 등에 이르기까지 다양한 방법들을 들 수 있을 것이다. 또한 대부분의 정보검색 시스템들은 Document SUITogate( 문헌을 대체할 수 있는 것들 ), 즉 요약문, 목차, 초록, 리뷰한 내용, 기계가독형목록 (MARC) 기록물 등과 같은 서지자료들을 전체논문을 대체하여 이용하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 또 다른 형태의 Document Surrogate 로서 용어 리스트의 집단화 방법을 이용해서 찾아보았다. 이 Document Surrogate 들은 Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) 을 이용해서 2 차원 그래프 위에 좌표로써 표현되어지고 있다. 사용된 2차원의 그래프 위에서 좌표간의 거리는 문헌들의 유사성을 나타낸다고 해석할 수 있으며 거리가 가까우면 가까울수록 두 문서는 더욱 유사한내용을 포함하고 있다고 해석할 수 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

DEA를 활용한 도시철도 노선별 수송효율성 분석 (Transport Efficiency Analysis of the Lines of Urban Railway using Data Envelopment Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 도시철도들의 수송효율성을 분석하여, 수익성 측면에 있어서의 효율성을 향상시키기 위한 정책방향을 제공하고자 수행되었다. 본 연구를 통해 우리나라 도시철도들의 상대적 효율성을 측정하고, 효율성이 부족한 도시철도 노선에 대해 구조적인 문제가 존재하는지를 분석하였다. 분석대상은 전국 공공기관이 운영하는 17개 도시철도 노선이며, 자료포락분석기법(DEA)으로 노선별 효율성을 분석하였다. 분석된 결과로부터 규모의 경제성을 도출하고, 외부요인으로서 무임 손실비용과 운임제도에 따른 운수수입에의 영향정도를 파악하였다. 이 때 분석을 위한 변수로는 다중회귀분석을 통해 도출된 차량수, 운행횟수 두 생산요소를 투입하여 운수수익을 산출하는 형태로 상정하였다. 마지막으로 자료포락분석기법으로 도출된 효율성값을 다차원척도법(MDS)에 적용하여 전국 도시철도에 대한 수익성 측면의 효율성 향상방안을 제시하였다.
