A Study on the Implementation of the Multi-Process Structured ISDN Terminal Adaptor for Sending the Ultra Sound Medical Images (다중처리 구조를 갖는 초음파 의료영상 전송용 ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Network) TA(Terminal Adaptor) 구현에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposed a new method in the implementation of ISDN (integrated services digital network) LAPD (link access procedure on the D-channel) and LAPB (link access procedure on the B-channel) protocols. The proposed method in this paper implement ISDW LAPD protocol through multi-tasking operating system and adopt a kernel part that is changed operating system to target board. The features of implemented system are (1) the para.llel processing of the events generated at each layer, as follows (2) the supporting necessary timers for the implementation of ISDW LAPD protocol from the kernel part by using software, (3) the recommanded SAP (Service Access Point) from CCITT was composed by using port function in the operating system. With the proposed method, the protocols of ISDH layerl, layer2 and layer3 (call control) were implemented by using the kernel part and related tests were carried out by connecting the ISDH terminal simulator to ISDN S-interface system using the ISDN LAPD protocol The results showed that ISDW S-interface terminals could be discriminated by TEI (Terminal Equipment Identifier) assignment in layer 2 (LAPD) and the message transmission of layer 3 was verified by establishing the multi-frame transmission and then through the path established by the LAPD protocol, a user data was tranfered and received on B-channel with LAPB protocol Thererfore, as new efficient ISDN S-interface environment was implemented in the thesis, it was verified that the implemented system can be utilized by connecting ISDW in the future to transfer a medical image data.

  • In this paper, we present mSROS(Micro-Scalable Realtime Operating System) to be applied commonly to the device controller systems in the HANbit ACE256 system. The device controller systems in HANbit ACE256 system are organized as many kinds of device controller. Applying modified PPOS(Peripheral Processor Operating System)which is an operating system for devices of the TDX-10 switching system to the firmwares for them, the inefficiency in development and maintenance exists inherently. To remove the inefficiency nd to improve the performqance of firmwares, we build a common operating system platform that including multi-tasking microkernel so that the firmwares among devices can acquire convenient development and cheap cost of maintencance. Especially, building a virtual machine as a development methodology, it is possible to remove dependency from the kernel so that any kinds of commercial real-time kernels can be used in mSROS as a basic kernel. The virtual machine in mSROS is compatible with the API of SROS(Scalable Realtime Operating System), PPOS, and CROS(Concurrent Realtime Operating System).

  • Embedded system area has brought an innovation and has been spread rapidly by the growth of the Internet, wireless telephony and multimedia recently. Many embedded systems are required to be real-time systems in that it needs multi-tasking and priority based scheduling. This paper introduces a real-time system that was developed with web server ability for control and monitoring system employing a real-time operating system. It discusses the design model, structure, and applications of web server system. We used SNDS100 board which has a 32-bit RISC microcontroller of ARM7TDMI core as a hardware platform. MicroC/OS kernel was used as Real-time operating system that supports a preemptive and multitasking functions. We developed a hierarhchical control and monitoring system that not only reduced system and management costs, but also enhanced reusability and portability.

  • This paper expounds the development of a user-friendly expert system for the optimal stacking sequence design of composite laminates subjected to the various rules constraints. The expert system was realized in the graphic-based design environment. Therefore, users can access and use the system easily. The optimal stacking sequence is obtained by means of integration of a genetic algorithm, finite element analysis. These systems were integrated with the rules of design heuristics under an expert system shell. The optimal stacking sequence combination for the application of interest is drawn from the discrete ply angles and design rules stored in the knowledge base of the expert system. For the integration and management of softwares, a graphic-based design environment that provides multi-tasking and graphic user interface capability is built.

  • With the development of CNC(Computer Numerical Control) and communication technology, the connotation and functions of Distributed Numerical Control have been greatly enlarged. In this study, we develop and implement a Distributed Numerical Control system that has real time and multi-tasking operation capability for the machining cell with various NC(Numerical Control) and CNC machines. With the consideration of economy, generalization and extension, this system is interfaced with Shop Floor Control System, Machine Control System and Tool Preparation System using advanced networking method. In the implementation phase, we use the ORACLE DBMS (Database Management System) as the DBMS and Microsoft Visual C++ as the programming tools.

  • In this paper, a tightly-coupled multiprocessor system is implemented with four processing elements based on MC68000 CPU, a common menory (128KB), and a single time-shared bus. The multi-tasking operating system, MTOS, is modified so that the multiprocessor system can support multitasking and multiprocessing. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated by stochastic Petri Net system modeling. The efficiency and the processing power are simulated for various load factors and up to 16 PEs. By running benchmark programs, such as quicksort, FFT, and matrix-multiplication, the speed of parallel processing is compared with that of a single processor.

  • This thesis presents a development of intelligent digital governing system and it's application on Sumjingang Hydro-Power plant. The developed system consists of hardware, software and governing algorithm. The feature of hardware is triplex-modular fail safe redundant system for a safe turbine running. The software consists of operating system and application program. The operating system has real-time and multi-tasking features. And also, application algorithm is composed to run francis type hydro-turbine. The developed digital governing system is applied to Sumjingang hydro-power plant, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Corporation.

  • In this paper, a method for implementing software for the control system with dual structure in processor module is proposed and implemented to enhance its reliability. In this implementation the multi-tasking function which is provided by a real-time operating system is applied. The overall softwre is divided into five tasks and is performed in each of the dual processor module, independently. By this, the processor module with dual structure can achieve a control objective and fault diagnostics effectively. An experimental result shows that the backup processor module can be substituted for the primary processor module immediately when it happens to fail, because data relating the failure information are exchanged continuously done via shared memories.

  • The basic technology for a production system represented by design, machining, assembly, and inspection, is machining technology such as CNC machine tools. etc. Direct Numerical Control, that effeciently manages NC programs is developing into Distributed Numerical Control that increases the utilization of the machining cell. It has the ability of monitoring and control, in real time, for CNC and periperial equipment. In this study, we develop a Distributed Numerical Control system that has real time and multitasking operation capability for the machining cell with various CNC's. With the consideration of economy, generalization and extension, the system is interfaced with CNC machine tools and periperial device using RS-485 network and RS-232C communication methods.

  • In order to provided continuous solutions, latest developing navigation systems tend to integrate GPS receiver with INS or DR. Using the GPS carrier-phase measurements, an attitude GPS receiver with three antennas obtain the 3-dimensional attitude such as roll, pitch, and heading as well as position and velocity. With these angle measurements, in the attitude GPS/INS integrated system, attitude or gyro errors can be directly compensated. In this paper, we develop an integrated navigation system that combines attitude GPS receiver with INS. The performance of real-time integrated navigation system is determined by not only the implements of integration filter but also the synchronization of measurements. To meet these real-time requirements, the navigation software is implemented in multi-tasking structure in this paper. We also employ time-synchronization technique in the multi-sensor fusion. Experimental results show that the performance of the attitude GPS/INS integrated system is consistent even when cycle-slip occurs in carrier-phase measurements.
