멀티사이트 기반 클라우드 환경의 구성 자동화를 위한 SmartX 프로비저닝 프레임워크 (SmartX Provisioning Framework for Automated Installation/Configuration of Multi-site based Cloud Infrastructure)

  • 다양한 ICT 인프라 기술들을 종합적으로 활용하는 클라우드의 대표적인 오픈소스 프로젝트인 오픈스택을 활용하여 멀티사이트 기반의 클라우드 인프라 구축 시 설치 복잡성 및 지리적인 제약으로 인한 인적, 시간적인 비효율성을 내포한다. 이러한 비효율성을 해소하기 위해 멀티사이트 환경의 오픈스택 실증 테스트베드인 OF@KOREN SmartX 놀이터 (Playground)를 대상으로 리눅스 및 오픈스택을 설치/설정을 자동화하는 도구를 데브옵스 (DevOps) 개발 방법론에 따라 점진적으로 개발해왔다. 하지만 이전 개발도구들이 고정된 형태의 프로비저닝만을 제공한다는 한계를 해결하고자 본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 정의 인프라의 자원관리 구도에 따라 자동 설치/설정도구를 엮어 Playground 수준의 프로비저닝을 수행하는 SmartX 프로비저닝 프레임워크의 프로토타입을 설계, 개발한다. 그리고 멀티사이트 오픈스택 클라우드를 자동으로 구축하는 과정을 제시함으로써 프레임워크의 효율적인 놀이터 프로비저닝 기능에 대해 검증한다.

갑천유역을 대상으로 SWAT 모형의 다 변수 및 다 지점 검.보정 (Multi-variable and Multi-site Calibration and Validation of SWAT for the Gap River Catchment)

  • 많은 수의 매개변수와 복잡한 구조를 가진 수문모형의 적용 시 세밀하고 강력한 모델 검 보정이 요구된다. 본 연구에서 금강유역에 위치한 갑천 소유역에 준 분포형 모형인 SWAT모형을 이용하여 다 목적 지점 검 보정 방법을 제시하였다. 모형의 보정 전 민감도 분석을 통한 각 소유역별로 특성 분석이 이루어 졌고, 유출에 민감한 매개변수들을 추정하였다. 그리고 최소한의 보정을 통한 모형의 유효성을 높이기 위해, 관측된 데이터로부터 매개변수 값을 선보정하는 과정을 거쳤다. 그 결과 각 소유역 별로 다른 매개변수들의 민감도가 나타났다. 관측유량에 대한 보정 단계에서 $R_{eff}$는 0.41-0.84, $R^2$은 0.5-0.86 값으로 신뢰성 있는 결과를 얻었다. Recursive digital filter로 추정된 기저 유출량을 약 2% 범위에서 산정하였다. 관측 지하수 수위와의 비교에서도 전체적으로 관측된 지하수 수위의 시간적 변동추이와 변동 폭을 잘 나타내었으며, $R^2$는 0.69로 만족스러운 결과를 보였다. 결론적으로, 다 목적 지점 방법의 사용은 모형기 구조와 추정된 매개변수들에 높은 신뢰도를 제공하였다.

Development of MURCC code for the efficient multi-unit level 3 probabilistic safety assessment

  • After the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant (NPP) accident, level 3 probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) has emerged as an important task in order to assess the risk level of the multi-unit NPPs in a single nuclear site. Accurate calculation of the radionuclide concentrations and exposure doses to the public is required if a nuclear site has multi-unit NPPs and large number of people live near NPPs. So, there has been a great need to develop a new method or procedure for the fast and accurate offsite consequence calculation for the multi-unit NPP accident analysis. Since the multi-unit level 3 PSA is being currently performed assuming that all the NPPs are located at the same position such as a center of mass (COM) or base NPP position, radionuclide concentrations or exposure doses near NPPs can be drastically distorted depending on the locations, multi-unit NPP alignment, and the wind direction. In order to overcome this disadvantage of the COM method, the idea of a new multiple location (ML) method was proposed and implemented into a new tool MURCC (multi-unit radiological consequence calculator). Furthermore, the MURCC code was further improved for the multi-unit level 3 PSA that has the arbitrary number of multi-unit NPPs. The objectives of this study are to (1) qualitatively and quantitatively compare COM and ML methods, and (2) demonstrate the strength and efficiency of the ML method. The strength of the ML method was demonstrated by the applications to the multi-unit long-term station blackout (LTSBO) accidents at the four-unit Vogtle NPPs. Thus, it is strongly recommended that this ML method be employed for the offsite consequence analysis of the multi-unit NPP accidents.

In silico Study on the Interaction between P-glycoprotein and Its Inhibitors at the Drug Binding Pocket

  • P-glycoprotein (P-gp) is a member of the ATP-Binding Cassette transporter superfamily and mediates transmembrane efflux of many drugs. Since it is involved in multi-drug resistance activity in various cancer cells, the development of P-gp inhibitor is one of the major concerns in anticancer therapy. Human P-gp protein has at least two "functional" drug binding sites that are called "H" site and "R" site, hence it has multi-binding-specificities. Though the amino acid residues that constitute in drug binding pockets have been proposed by previous experimental evidences, the shapes and the binding poses are not revealed clearly yet. In this study, human P-gp structure was built by homology modeling with available crystal structure of mouse P-gp as a template and docking simulations were performed with inhibitors such as verapamil, hoechst33342, and rhodamine123 to construct the interaction between human P-gp and its inhibitors. The docking simulations were performed 500 times for each inhibitor, and then the interaction frequency of the amino acids at the binding poses was analyzed. With the analysis results, we proposed highly contributing residues that constitute binding pockets of the human P-gp for the inhibitors. Using the highly contributing residues, we proposed the locations and the shapes of verapamil binding site and "R" site, and suggested the possible position of "H" site.

가쪽위관절융기 통증 환자에서 복합 부위와 단일 부위에 기능적 마사지와 스트레칭을 적용할 때 통증, 압통 역치와 악력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Multi-site and Single-site Functional Massage and Stretching on Pain, Tenderness Threshold and Grip Strength in Patients with Lateral Epicondylalgia)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of functional massage and stretching, applied to the elbow and shoulder joints, on pain, tenderness threshold, and grip strength. Methods: A total of 29 individuals were assigned to a single site (n=15) or multiple sites (n=14). Pain measured through the visual analogue scale (VAS), tenderness threshold (TTH), and grip strength (GI) were measured before and four weeks after the intervention. Results: After four weeks of treatment, visual analogue scale significantly decreased in both groups (p<.05), and the tenderness threshold and grip strength significantly increased in both groups (p<.05). There was also a significant difference between the two groups (p<.05). Conclusion: The reduction of visual analogue scale and the increase in the tenderness threshold and grip strength were more significant in the multi-site treatment group than in the single-site treatment group.

Mass transfer kinetics using two-site interface model for removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solution with cassava peel and rubber tree bark as adsorbents

  • Present study investigates the potential of cassava peel and rubber tree bark for the removal of Cr (VI) from aqueous solution. Removal efficiency of more than 99% was obtained during the kinetic adsorption experiments with dosage of 3.5 g/L for cassava peel and 8 g/L for rubber tree bark. By comparing popular isotherm models and kinetic models for evaluating the kinetics of mass transfer, it was observed that Redlich-Peterson model and Langmuir model fitted well ($R^2$ > 0.99) resulting in maximum adsorption capacity as 79.37 mg/g and 43.86 mg/g for cassava peel and rubber tree bark respectively. Validation of pseudo-second order model and Elovich model indicated the possibility of chemisorption being the rate limiting step. The multi-linearity in the diffusion model was further addressed using multi-sites models (two-site series interface (TSSI) and two-site parallel interface (TSPI) models). Considering the influence of interface properties on the kinetic nature of sorption, TSSI model resulted in low mass transfer rate (5% for cassava peel and 10% for rubber tree bark) compared to TSPI model. The study highlights the employability of two-site sorption model for simultaneous representation of different stages of kinetic sorption for finding the rate-limiting process, compared to the separate equilibrium and kinetic modeling attempts.

다중분광 위성자료를 이용한 김 양식어장 탐지 (Detection of Laver Aquaculture Site of Using Multi-Spectral Remotely Sensed Data)

  • Recently, aquaculture farm sites have been increased with demand of the expensive fish species and sea food like as seaweed, laver and oyster. Therefore coastal water quality have been deteriorated by organic contamination from marine aquaculture farm sites. For protecting of coastal environment, we need to control the location of aquaculture sites. The purpose of this study is to detect the laver aquaculture sites using multispectral remotely sensed data with autodetection algorithm. In order to detect the aquaculture sites, density slice and contour and vegetation index methods were applied with SPOT and IKONOS data of Shinan area. The marine aquaculture farm sites were extracted by density slice and contour methods with one band digital number(DN) carrying 65% accuracy. However, vegetation index algorithm carried out 75% accuracy using near-infra red and red bands. Extraction of the laver aquaculture site using remotely sensed data will provide the efficient digital map for coastal water management strategies and red tide GIS management system.

실시간 기상자료를 이용한 다지점 강우 예측모형 연구 (A Study on Multi-site Rainfall Prediction Model using Real-time Meteorological Data)

  • For the prediction of multi-site rainfall with radar data and ground meteorological data, a rainfall prediction model was proposed, which uses the neural network theory, a kind of artifical Intelligence technique. The Input layer of the prediction model was constructed with current ground meteorological data, their variation, moving vectors of rain- fall field and digital terrain of the measuring site, and the output layer was constructed with the predicted rainfall up to 3 hours. In the application of the prediction model to the Pyungchang river basin, the learning results of neural network prediction model showed more Improved results than the parameter estimation results of an existing physically based model. And the proposed model comparisonally well predicted the time distribution of ralnfall.

Development of an IoT Platform for Ocean Observation Buoys

  • In this paper, we propose an Internet of Things (IoT) platform for ocean observation buoys. The proposed system consists of various sensor modules, a gateway, and a remote monitoring site. In order to integrate sensor modules with various communications interfaces, we propose a controller area network (CAN)-based sensor data packet and a protocol for the gateway. The proposed scheme supports the registration and management of sensor modules so as to make it easier for the buoy system to manage various sensor modules. Also, in order to extend communication coverage between ocean observation buoys and the monitoring site, we implement a multi-hop relay network based on a mesh network that can provide greater communication coverage than conventional buoy systems. In addition, we verify the operation of the implemented multi-hop relay network by measuring the received signal strength indication between buoy nodes and by observing the collected data from the deployed buoy systems via our monitoring site.
