The photovoltaic (PV) power conditioning system for small-scale applications has gained significant interest in the past few decades. However, the standalone mode of operation has been rarely approached. This paper presents a two-stage multi-level micro-inverter topology that considers the different operation modes. A multi-output flyback converter provides both the DC-Link voltage balancing for the multi-level inverter side and maximum power point tracking control in grid connection mode in the PV stage. A modified H-bridge multi-level inverter topology is included for the AC output stage. The multi-level inverter lowers the total harmonic distortion and overall ratings of the power semiconductor switches. The proposed micro-inverter topology can help to decrease the size and cost of the PV system. Transient analysis and controller design of this micro-inverter have been proposed for stand-alone and grid-connected modes. Finally, the system performance was verified using a 120 W hardware prototype.

This paper deals with a novel method in order to analyze the harmonic characteristics in the multi-level inverter. Generally, the magnitude of harmonic components is different according to the carrier PWM techniques, modulation Index(Mi), and the level of multi-level inverter The previous papers analyzed the harmonic characteristics from the viewpoint of the space vector. Hence, the calculation of the harmonic vector becomes difficult and complex in 4-level or more than S-level. However, the proposed method of this paper reduced an amount of calculation and simplified the process of calculation by using the relationship between reference voltage and output phase voltage to load neutral. This paper analyzed the harmonic and it is applied to the multi-carrier PWM techniques in 5- level and other-level of cascaded inverter system.
Purpose The research on the effective use of IS needs to embrace the alignment to organization learning process, which expands the limited focus on dynamic capability of IS use. In addition, it should be done in multi-level analysis with system, user, task, and organization. The current study suggests the inclusion of multi-level analysis of effective use of IS in the perspective of exploration and exploitation. Design/methodology/approach This review selected the representative studies in IS discipline which have investigated the effective use of IS, dynamic capability, operational capability, exploration, exploitation, or organizational learning. In the search of academic archives with those keywords, seventeen papers which have been most cited were chosen and validated whether the focus constructs are directly theorized or validated the suggested keywords. In addition, the level of analysis was verified whether it includes one or more levels of system, individual, task, or organization. Based on the initial analysis of dynamic capability, the further review of research on explorational and exploitational capabilities was implemented. Findings The present review study on previous literature on effective use of IS presented that it is largely implemented in the level of individual but few of them has included organization level. Similarly, the direct investigation of explorational and exploitational use of IS has not been done so much. The needs of study on effective use of IS in depth have been inquired for a decade. However, the review presented that it still lacks profound theories and empirical validations compared to those of adoption stage of IS. Based on the review, future research on the transition between explorational and exploitational use of IS is suggested.

It is very important to select relevant variables in regression models for survival analysis. In this paper, we introduce a penalized variable-selection procedure in multi-level frailty models based on the "frailtyHL" R package (Ha et al., 2012). Here, the estimation procedure of models is based on the penalized hierarchical likelihood, and three penalty functions (LASSO, SCAD and HL) are considered. The proposed methods are illustrated with multi-country/multi-center bladder cancer survival data from the EORTC in Belgium. We compare the results of three variable-selection methods and discuss their advantages and disadvantages. In particular, the results of data analysis showed that the SCAD and HL methods select well important variables than in the LASSO method.

The multi-level inverter system is very promising in ac drives, when both reduced harmonic contents and high power are required. In case of multi-level inverter system, the loss of switch devices cannot be analyzed by conventional methods. The reason is that the loss of each the switch device is different from one another unlike 2-level. In this paper, a simple and accurate method of computing conduction and switching loss is proposed for multi-level inverter system. The validity of the proposed method is proven for 3-level and 4-revel diode clamped inverter system.

The purpose of this study is to find out factors affecting patient moving to receive medical service. This study is analyzed by multi-level model with patient and hospital level by using SAS 9.3. Total number of patients is 600,000 persons for inpatients and 550,000 patients for outpatients. The degree of the factors, which is combined with personnel factor and hospital factor, can be analyzed by Intra-Class Correlation (ICC). The percentage of group(hospital) level variance of the total variance for out-bound moving case are 30.6% at inpatients, and 28.3% at outpatients. And the percentage of hospital level variance of the total variance for moving distance, are 26.7%, 32,5% respectively. Conclusionally, although the main factor of moving is patient level, hospital is also very important factor to make decision to go out-bound. It contributed to about 1/3 for hospital choice. And, when the one make decision, he will consider the hospital type, number of bed, and training institute in hospital level. Through this study to find out hospital factors affecting patient moving for medical service, it must be continued to find out which factors have more influence to choice the hospital among disease type after this.
A variety of input parameters are taken into consideration while performing a Level 3 PSA. Some parameters related to plume segments, spatial grids, and particle size distribution have flexible input formats. Fine modeling performed by splitting a number of segments or grids may enhance the accuracy of analysis but is time-consuming. Analysis speed is highly important because a considerably large number of calculations is required to handle Level 2 PSA scenarios for a single-unit or multi-unit Level 3 PSA. This study developed a sensitivity analysis supporting interface called MACCSsense to compare the results of the trials of plume segmentation with the results of the base case to determine its impact (in terms of time and accuracy) and to support the development of a modeling approach, which saves calculation time and improves accuracy. MACCSense is an automation tool that uses a large amount of plume segmentation analysis results obtained from MUST Converter and Mr. Manager developed by KAERI to generate a sensitivity report that includes impact (time and accuracy) by comparing them with the base-case result. In this study, various plume segmentation approaches were investigated, and both the accuracy and speed of offsite consequence analysis were evaluated using MACCS as a consequence analysis tool. A simultaneous evaluation revealed that execution time can be reduced using multi-threading. In addition, this study can serve as a framework for the development of a modeling strategy for plume segmentation in order to perform accurate and fast offsite consequence analyses.

Face classification has wide applications in security and surveillance. However, this technique presents various challenges caused by pose, illumination, and expression changes. Face recognition with long-distance images involves additional challenges, owing to focusing problems and motion blurring. Multiple frames under varying spatial or temporal settings can acquire additional information, which can be used to achieve improved classification performance. This study investigates the effectiveness of multi-frame decision-level fusion with photon-counting linear discriminant analysis. Multiple frames generate multiple scores for each class. The fusion process comprises three stages: score normalization, score validation, and score combination. Candidate scores are selected during the score validation process, after the scores are normalized. The score validation process removes bad scores that can degrade the final output. The selected candidate scores are combined using one of the following fusion rules: maximum, averaging, and majority voting. Degraded facial images are employed to demonstrate the robustness of multi-frame decision-level fusion in harsh environments. Out-of-focus and motion blurring point-spread functions are applied to the test images, to simulate long-distance acquisition. Experimental results with three facial data sets indicate the efficiency of the proposed decision-level fusion scheme.
Single-Phase multi-level AC-DC converter that is composed of diode bridge and switch is proposed. The number of the supply current level is depending on the individual current level of the converter. A converter circuit, the number of the level is equal to $2^{M+1}-1$, where M is the number of Switching Converter. The proposed circuit has converter with 31 current levels. When the number of current level is increased, smoother sinusoidal waveform can be obtained directly and it is possible to control the supply current almost continuously from zero to maximum without generating high voltage step changes as pulse with modulation technology. The technique illustrates its validity and effectiveness through the PSIM.

Internet network routing system is used to prevent spread and distribution of malicious data traffic. This study is based on analysis of diagnostic weakness structure in the network security domain. We propose an improved integrated multi-level protection domain for in the internal route of groupware. This paper's protection domain is designed to handle the malicious data traffic in the groupware and finally leads to lighten the load of data traffic and improve network security in the groupware. Infrastructure of protection domain is transformed into five-stage blocking domain from two or three-stage blocking. Filtering and protections are executed for the entire server at the gateway level and internet traffic route ensures differentiated protection by dividing into five-stage. Five-stage multi-level network security domain's malicious data traffic protection performance is better than former one. In this paper, we use a trust evaluation metric for measuring the security domain's performance and suggested algorithm.
