To cope with the threats posed by climate change actively, this study tries to examine multi-functional fashion design with the moral awareness of environment, which could be a direct cause of climate change. Literature and patents on multi-functional fashion design following climate change at home and abroad are examined to find the trend of multi-functional fashion designs. And fashion design that can protect human body to cope with climate change is analyzed. This study found that first, it is necessary to recognize the environment problems in the design process so that material is used to the minimum to minimize pollution and enable welfare and continuation of human society; second, environmentally friendly production and rational consumption such as manual production without waste of energy and material need to be favored to minimize the destruction of environment; third, to cope with environment and climate changes, design that allows an item to have diverse functions is needed so that it can have varied lengths, widths, and thicknesses, and it can be put on and taken off.

This study conceptually approaches and clearly compares the similarities and differences of fashion and architecture through a focus on their correlations. This study identifies the conceptual definitions of functional minimalism by an examination of function that represents the largest similarity between architecture and fashion. This study classifies the nature of functional minimalism and studies cases for each architectural classification in the areas of: the simplicity of a structure, unitarity pursuit of economic value, repeatability in an efficiency unit, reducibility stressing property, and multi-functional spatiality. The characteristics of functional minimalism fashion are distinguish as: simplicity in a structure that highlight structural lines in non-decorated design, unitarity pursuit of economic value represented in united process and pattern for its economic effect, repeatability in an efficiency unit represented through the repeated decoration of a functional unit, reducibility stressing a property that emphasizes property with a dominant design element through a highlight of the characteristics of materials and multi-functional spatiality that represents variability in clothes through an expansion of limited spatial function. This study approaches each discipline with a clear understanding of the differences between the two and suggests standards for a comparative study of architecture and fashion.

The purpose of this study is to understand the ideas of characteristic of convergence design related to slow fashion design. Convergence design in digital stage can be defined as a social phenomenon which different function of product move toward one direction for greater efficiency. Slow fashion is based on the Slow Movement. (This is a movement with similar principles to the Slow Food Movement, as it promotes an alternative mass production, such as fast fashion.) The aims of this research are to study slow fashion that has appeared in the fashion industry through various approaches for convergence designs, and to find the possibility of use for slow fashion. The research method consisted of carrying out case studies and analyzing literatures and proceeding cases. The characteristics of convergence designs are classified into technical convergence, emotion-oriented convergence and complex convergence. Technical convergence has an effect on slow fashion as a multi-functional design. Second, emotion-oriented convergence affects social-cultural design. Slow fashion related to a complex convergence design reveals emotion-oriented deign. Slow fashion is related to convergence design is to expect contribute to provide a good source for the future fashion industry and fashion market.

The eco-design in modem fashion is mixed with a well-being trend that combines functionality and ethics with technology to suggest a new fashion style for the $21^{st}$ century. This study analyzes the colors of the eco-design in the current fashion trends and identifies the eco-friendly color images that suggest directions for eco-design. The results of this study are as follows. First, the eco-design is an ethical design concept of the ecological value. It can be classified into the functional efficiency in the multi-functionality the sustainability, the recycling capability, the trends for health and craftsmanship, according to various suggestions by eco-design related theorists. Second, the eco-colors shown in the fashion trend follow the order of YR, R, Y, N, and B, with the order of the pale, grayish, light grayish and dull tones. Third, the hue trends of eco-colors each eco-type are focused on R, YR, and Y. With regards to the tones, the functional efficiency, the multi-functional capability, and the sustainability are shown in the neutral tone, while the recycling capability is shown in the grayish tone and the trends pursuing health and craftsmanship are shown in the pale tone.

This study examines the prati fashion style. prati fashion refers to a practical fashion, the most sought-after trend and newest fashion concept. This trend emerged as a response to the trio of minimalism, the recent economic downturn and the modern life style, and has led to powerful fashion lines and items. Therefore, this study is to understand and analyze the prati fashion style, with its focus on the 2010 modern fashion collection that embodied functional, economic, and minimal styles. First, the functional style realized by new materials provides comfort and allows multi-style changes. Second, the minimal style adds detailed changes to minimal silhouettes. Finally the economic style means easy to wear and easy to match items at affordable prices. The analyses stated above found that the prati fashion brought about a new paradigm to society, and influenced social, cultural and economic aspects of our daily life. It also helped find solutions to economic problems of this era. Drawing global attention, the prati fashion has functional, design and economic values, and thereby influences the shift of market paradigm.

This paper aims at studying about spatial structures and formative characteristics of Lucy Orta's fashion design. Her works utilizes the thought related on the architectural space that has been revealed sharp change of the paradigm since the late of 20th century. Lucy Orta against individualism of the urban life, and manufactures portable and moving housing and multi-functional fashion that is paved with individual rest unit and give a sense of security through simple combination among the units. Besides, she has development multiple portable clothing and equipments for the rescuethrough exploiting pioneering high technology. The results of this study can be summarized as the following: 1) refuge habitant creates individual space for physical and mental protection from the urban surrounding, 2) nomadic dwelling shows multi-functional fashion space fit for digital nomads' life style aims at continuous movement, 3) connective nexus and urban life guard are comprise of detachable individual unit in public space for remaking of the bonds, affinity, and relationship, and the complex of rescue clothing and equipments for meeting a challenge of the threat about human existence from uncertain environmental change in the future.

The purpose of this study was to delve into what type of expression mode of fashion design could suit the life style of digital nomads, as the appearance of nomadic life style was concurrent with people's modified way of thinking and sociocultural changes in today's digital society. It's basically meant to define the roles of fashion design, which was discussed as a way of improving the quality of life as a sort of 'culture,' and to suggest some of the right directions for fashion design in the future. The culture of today's digital era is marked by a pursuit of high mobility and high speed, and by nomadic disposition that is built on flexible thinking. The kind of design that lets people carry nomadic things with them and thereby improve their mobility can satisfy their needs for mobility, and body-friendly design that functions as a device of information in itself can meet their needs for mobility as well. The leading example of the latter is a wearable computer, and wearable scientific technology will be taken to another level, thanks to the advance in digital technology. In the future, that will be more accessible to people in general, and subminiature digital equipment will gain popularity in fashion industry as part of textiles and clothing or as an accessory. And specific kinds of design will be widespread, including variable design, multi-functional design and modular design. The first serves as a tool to protect the human body and to facilitate the adaptability of it to the given circumstances, and the second is characterized by a superb physical and psychological protectability. The third lets wearers bring design to completion at their own option, owing to an increase in the number of open-minded people and the development of interactive media. All these types of design could be called a wearer-friendly, human-oriented design that is specifically appropriate for the digital age. Wearers can actively be involved in design process as productive consumers, which is expected to help increase opener practices in fashion design sector.

Air-containing fashion, which can offer diverse functions through the inflow and outflow of air, is highly relevant in today's mobile society, where people are experiencing a wider range of environments. This study attempts to suggest the possibility of air-containing multi-functional fashion that could continuously be utilized by developing a design for an air-containing jacket using modular systems. In this research, the modular systems in architecture and furniture design were referenced through a review of the literature for the purpose of establishing modular systems in fashion. Functions relevant to the mobility of today's society are derived from the results of advanced research and applied to the design of modules of the jacket. The modules are integrated through the modular systems. The folding and unfolding structure in architecture and furniture is applied as a folding system in fashion, the vertical accumulation structure as a layering system, and the horizontal integration structure as a combining system, and in addition, the containing system has emerged in fashion. Each module is designed to fulfill certain functions, such as cushioning, heat insulation, and portability. The folding system is utilized in designing the cushion module to support the neck and back of a wearer by making its hood and hem fold in the back. The application of a layering system was suggested by making the vest, combined with the neck cushion and back cushion via the combining system, layered with its insulation module. By applying the combining system, the hood that includes the neck cushion, the skirt that includes the back cushion, the body that includes the insulation module, and the sleeves can be connected and separated by a zipper. The applicability of this concept was proven by applying a developed design to an actual item.

The viewpoint of growth pursuit is changed to that of life quality's and happiness' pursuit by modern people. Modern people in digital environment, tired of fast-changing and oppressive daily life, prefer well-being trend providing tranquility and relaxation. Well-being is related to digital, because negative influences of digital lead human-oriented, environment-friendly well-being design. Therefore the purpose of this study is to research and analyze the relation of well-being fashion design and digital environment through case study in contemporary well-being fashion design. The results of this study are as follows: 1. This study shows that the attributes of digital environment make up function-intensive, interactivity, mobility & nomad, human & emotion-oriented and environment-friendly. And this study shows the design characteristics of digital environment consist of function-intensive design by digital convergence, open structure design for interactivity, modular design for mobility & nomad, emotion-oriented & multi-sensory design and environment- friendly design. 2. Function-intensive design in modem well-being fashion composed of vogue of caports style(casual+sports), practical use of multi-functional new-healthy textiles, and popularity of many style's mixture at once. Open structure design consist of wrapover design, use of transparent materials. Modular design are layered styling, practical use of zipper and velcro. Emotion-oriented & multi-sensory design are constitute of fad of wrinkle materials, application of bright & vivid tone, personal color and family look. Environment-friendly design in contemporary well-being fashion are comprised in use of natural color, re-advent of natural floral motif and eco-design.

This study investigates transformable designs in contemporary fashion. In contemporary society, designs are accompanied by various changes such as transformation of shapes or variation of material beyond the certain form of dress. As a result of having interest in transformable designs with the various attempts on the overall design, transformable design is being suggested as an attempt as the new manner, radical concept, or alternative of multi-purpose lifestyle. With the constant research and collection presentation by the designers of empirical disposition, transformable dress has been evolving gradually. The feature of transformable design appeared in dress is considered as 'variability' which changes in the flow of time. Furthermore, the morphological variability and variability of material have been examined as visual stimuli and conversion of material. By analyzing and assorting diverse transformable dresses comprehensively, it could be divided into technique-oriented transformable design and transformable design with a wearer's intervention. The technique-oriented transformable design is subdivided into the conversion of material and the conversion of form; the transformable design with a wearer's intervention into the conversion of functional frame and the conversion of aesthetic feature.
