  • A numerical study for a two dimensional multi-impingement jet with crossflow of the spent fluid has been carried out. To study the flow characteristics especially in the jet flow region, three different distributions of mass flow rate at 5-jet exits were assumed. For each distribution, various Reynolds numbers ranging from laminar to turbulent flows were considered. Calculations drew the following items as conclusion. 1) A periodical fully developed flow was observed from the third protrusion. This was also observed from previous experimentally by Whidden at al. The Nessult number at the protrusion surface increased mildly as going downstream. 2) The low Reynolds number turbulence model of Launder and Sharma was found to be adequate for the prediction of fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics of two dimensional multi-jet configuration. 3) The Nusselt number at the protrusion surface was nearly proportional to the square root of the Reynolds number.

  • This paper reflected the Temperature test value and compare the Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis value on particular characteristics of the multi-winding transformer's cooling apparatus equipped by heat pipe with excellent heat transfer ability on design Particularly if you look at multi-winding transformers that supply high-quality Direct current power to silicon production apparatus, heat generation due to high current supply is excessive thus, an innovative cooling apparatus is required in particular for reduced size transformer.

  • In order to suggest the methodology for achieving anti-vortex device within multi pump intake well, CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation were conducted for two alternative suggestions. Multi-intake sump model with anti-vortex device basins were designed and the characteristics of submerged vortex were investigated in the flow field by numerical simulation. From the results of simulations, to install the horizontal plate and vertical cross plates within basins were effective for preventing air-induction vortex.

  • It is difficult to have the existing structural optimization using coupled field analysis from CFD to structure analysis when the structure is influenced of fluid. Therefore in an initial model of this study after doing parameter design from the background of shape using topology optimization. and it is making a approximation formula using by the CFD-structure coupled-field analysis and design of experiment. By using this result, we conducted multi-objective optimization. We could confirm efficiency of stochastic method applicable in the scene of structure reliability design to be needed multi-objective optimization. And we presented a way of design that could overcome the time and space restriction in structural design such as the butterfly valve with the less experiment.

  • The two-fluid model is widely used for practical applications involving multi-phase flows in chemical reactor, nuclear reactor, desalination systems, boilers, and internal combustion engine. There are several modeling terms in the two-fluid model, which must be determined properly. This study suggests the best models for turbulent vertical bubbly flow.

  • 오늘날 자동차 산업의 기술 발전으로 4륜구동 기술이 승용차에도 적용되고 있으며, 이를 위해 트랜스퍼 케이스용 건식 다판클러치가 사용되고 있다. 하지만 건식 클러치의 경우 진동에 대한 문제가 발생하여 승차감에 영향을 주게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위해 4륜 구동장치의 핵심부품인 트랜스퍼케이스에 있는 다판클러치의 체결시 발생하는 충격을 저감시키고자 MR유체가 적용된 다판클러치를 제안한다. MR 다판클러치는 유체커플링 모드와 압착모드를 가지게 되며, 최적 설계를 위해 토크모델을 유도하였다. 다판클러치의 설계변수를 최적화를 위해 Ansys Maxwell을 이용하여 해석을 수행하였고, 전자기장 해석은 디스크와 플레이트의 수를 변경하였을 때 자기장의 세기를 확인하였으며, 자기장의 세기는 최대 0.45 Tesla가 도출되었다. 이를 토크방정식에 적용하여 플레이트 사이 간격을 2mm로 플레이트의 내경과 외경을 각각 45mm와 55mm로 선정하였다. 이와 같이 본 논문에서는 MR 다판클러치의 성능을 극대화할 수 있는 최적 설계기법을 제안하였다.

EFFECT OF MAGNETIC FIELD ON LONGITUDINAL FLUID VELOCITY OF INCOMPRESSIBLE DUSTY FLUID

  • The effects of longitudinal velocity dusty fluid flow in a weak magnetic field are investigated in this paper. An external uniform magnetic field parallel to the flow of dusty fluid influences the flow of dusty fluid. Besides that, the problem under investigation is completely defined in terms of identifying parameters such as longitudinal velocity (u), Hartmann number (M), dust particle interactions β, stock resistance γ, Reynolds number (Re) and magnetic Reynolds number (Rm). While using suitable transformations of resemblance, The governing partial differential equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations. The Hankel Transformation is used to solve these equations numerically. The effects of representing parameters on the fluid phase and particle phase velocity flow are investigated in this analysis. The magnitude of the fluid particle is reduced significantly. The result indicates the magnitude of the particle reduced significantly. Although some of our numerical solutions agree with some of the available results in the literature review, other results differs because of the effect of the introduced magnetic field.

  • In this paper, we propose closures for multi-phase flow models, which satisfy boundary conditions and conservation constraints. The models governing the evolution of the fluid mixing are derived by applying an ensemble averaging procedure to the microphysical equations characterized by distinct phases. We consider compressible multi species multi-phase flow with surface tension and transport.

  • The interaction between particles and fluid was investigated by IB-SEM numerical method which is a combination of combing the spectral/hp element method and the rigid immersed boundary method. The accuracy of this numerical method was verified based on the computed results with the traditional body-fitted mesh in numerical simulation of the flow through the cylinder. Then the governing equations of particles motion and contact in fluid are constructed. The movement of the particles and the interaction between the fluid and the particles are investigated. This method avoided the problem of low computational efficiency and error caused by the re-division of the grid when the solids moved. Finally, the movement simulation of multi particles in the fluid was carried out, which can provide a completely new numerical simulation method.
