  • Interactivity has been referred to as an important element promoting students' active participation in virtual classes. Assuming that interactivity cannot be defined by a single dimension, this study proposes multi-dimensional interactivity. Multi-dimensional interactivity includes all types of interactivity in e-learning. This study explored multi-dimensional interactivity which affects learners' satisfaction with e-learning. Data were collected from 132 students who had attended e-learning courses and the relationship between multi-dimensional interactivity and learners' satisfaction levels were tested through regression analysis. The result of this study showed that mechanical, reactive, and creative interactivity were positively related to learners' satisfaction. However, social interactivity seemed not to be related to learners' satisfaction. This study provides new insights on interactivity and verifies the importance of the multi-dimensional interactivity. The result of this study is expected to provide practical implications for interactivity strategies in e-learning.

  • This study is for the multi-dimensional analysis of diverse data sets for artificial reefs off the coast of Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi prefecture, Japan. Various data sets recorded in artificial reefs ground were integrated in new GIS software: to reveal the relationships between water temperature and fish schools; to visualize the quantitative connection between the reefs and the fish schools; and to compare the seabed types derived from two different data sources. The results obtained suggest that the application of GIS in analyzing multi-dimensional data is a better way to understand the characteristics of fish schools and environmental information around artificial reefs and particularly in the evaluation of the effectiveness of artificial reefs.

  • Cloud computing has extensively grown in recent years. A large amount of data is stored in cloud servers. To ensure confidentiality, these data is often encrypted and then stored in cloud servers. However, encryption makes range queries difficult to perform. To solve this issue, we present a scheme that facilitates fast range queries on encrypted multi-dimensional data in scenarios involving multiple users. In our scheme, we construct a tree index on encrypted multi-dimensional data, and each node is linked to a secure enhanced multi-dimensional range (MDR). To support efficient range query on the tree index, we adopt bloom filter technique. Additionally, users' privileges are designed in a one-way calculation manner to support that different users can only perform range queries within their own privileges. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments which show the efficiency of our scheme, and also conduct a thorough analysis of its security.

  • A multi-dimensional component for the thermal-hydraulic system analysis code, MARS, was developed for a more realistic three-dimensional analysis of nuclear systems. A three-dimensional and two-fluid model for a two-phase flow in Cartesian and cylindrical coordinates was employed. The governing equations and physical constitutive relationships were extended from those of a one-dimensional version. The numerical solution method adopted a semi-implicit and finite-difference method based on a staggered-grid mesh and a donor-cell scheme. The relevant length scale was very coarse compared to commercial computational fluid dynamics tools. Thus a simple Prandtl's mixing length turbulence model was applied to interpret the turbulent induced momentum and energy diffusivity. Non drag interfacial forces were not considered as in the general nuclear system codes. Several conceptual cases with analytic solutions were chosen and analyzed to assess the fundamental terms. RPI air-water and UPTF 7 tests were simulated and compared to the experimental data. The simulation results for the RPI air-water two-phase flow experiment showed good agreement with the measured void fraction. The simulation results for the UPTF downcomer test 7 were compared to the experiment data and the results from other multi-dimensional system codes for the ECC delivery flow.

  • The Qis visualizational spreadsheet environment is shown to be extremely effective in supporting the visualization of multi-gigabyte multi-dimensional data sets. The Qis has a novel framestack that is the 3-D arrangement of spreadsheet elements. It enables the visualization spreadsheet to effectively manage, rapidly organize, and compactly encapsulate multi-dimensional data sets for visualization. Using several experiments with scientific users, the Qis has been demonstrated to be a highly interactive visual browsing tool for the analysis o( multidimensional data, displaying 2-D 3-D graphics, and rendering in each frame of the spreadsheet.

  • As school facilities have been expanding quantity better than quality, efficient school facility management has been focused on from 2001 in domestic. Due to obsolescence of school facility, objective management and maintenance cost of school facility is very important. However LCC(Life cycle cost) analyst, owner, engineer, contractor and facility manager have a difficulty to obtain and facilitate the basic analyzed data required to analyze LCC of school facility and establish maintenance plan. Therefore this research presents muti-dimensional analysis method through data warehouse technique for supplying maintenance cost information of school facility that can trace and accumulate the scattered LCCing data in the perspective of life cycle of school facility.

  • As the number of legacy database systems and the size of data to manipulate have been vastly increased, it has become more difficult and complex to analyze characteristics of data. To improve the efficiency of data analysis and help administrators to make decisions in business life, BI(Business Intelligence) system is used. To construct data warehouse and cube from legacy database systems makes it easy and fast to transform raw data into integrated and categorized meaningful information. In this paper, we built a BI system for an University administration. Several source system databases were integrated to data warehouse to build data cubes. The implemented BI system shows much faster data analysis and reporting ability than the manipulation in legacy systems. It is especially efficient in multi dimensional data analysis, nonetheless in single dimensional analysis.

  • The goal of this paper is to show how multivariate regression analysis with high-dimensional responses is facilitated by the response dimension reduction. Multivariate regression, characterized by multi-dimensional response variables, is increasingly prevalent across diverse fields such as repeated measures, longitudinal studies, and functional data analysis. One of the key challenges in analyzing such data is managing the response dimensions, which can complicate the analysis due to an exponential increase in the number of parameters. Although response dimension reduction methods are developed, there is no practically useful illustration for various types of data such as so-called large p-small n data. This paper aims to fill this gap by showcasing how response dimension reduction can enhance the analysis of high-dimensional response data, thereby providing significant assistance to statistical practitioners and contributing to advancements in multiple scientific domains.

  • Database outsourcing is unavoidable in the near future. In the scenario of data stream outsourcing, the data owner continuously publishes the latest data and associated authentication information through a service provider. Clients may register queries to the service provider and verify the result's correctness, utilizing the additional authentication information. Research on On-line Stream Analytics (OLSA) is motivated by extending the data cube technology for higher multi-level abstraction on the low-level-abstracted data streams. Existing work on OLSA fails to consider the issue of database outsourcing, while previous work on stream authentication does not support OLSA. To close this gap and solve the problem of OLSA query authentication while outsourcing data streams, we propose MDAHRB and MDAHB, two multi-dimensional authentication approaches. They are based on the general data model for OLSA, the stream cube. First, we improve the data structure of the H-tree, which is used to store the stream cube. Then, we design and implement two authentication schemes based on the improved H-trees, the HRB- and HB-trees, in accordance with the main stream query authentication framework for database outsourcing. Along with a cost models analysis, consistent with state-of-the-art cost metrics, an experimental evaluation is performed on a real data set. It exhibits that both MDAHRB and MDAHB are feasible for authenticating OLSA queries, while MDAHRB is more scalable.

  • In this study, we identify contribution of structure-borne-noise of vehicle HVAC system using Multi-Dimensional spectral analysis (MDSA) method. Firstly, to identify the applicability of MDSA method, the case of HVAC system was modeled with four input / single output system. The four inputs which is given vibration data is composed of blower, evaporator, heater and duct. The single output is noise data from driver's seat. When the blower motor is operating, we analyze the contributions of four input / single output. As a result of experiment, we identify efficiency of systems modeled with four input / single output through ordinary coherence function (OCF) and multiple coherence function (MCF).
