  • This paper proposes a compact dual-band 3-way power divider that helps lowering the weight of a transceiver for the L-band or multi-purpose satellite communication. Instead of the multi stages or tapering which ends up with loss accumulation and size-growth, the non-linear dispersive phases from the metamaterial CRLH(composite right and left-handed) properties are obtained by the accurate formulation and implemented by the short transmission line segments. Firstly, the CRLH dual-band two-way unequal power divider and equal power divider are separately designed. And then, the input of the two-way equal power divider is plugged in the output port of the unequal one, and the entire geometry is slightly adjusted for the desirable performance. The circuit analysis and full-wave simulation are used to predict the frequency responses and validated by the measurement of the prototype. Besides, the size-reduction effect is addressed.

  • In this paper, a diplexer circuit to separate GSM from CDMA band is designed using a LTCC (Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) multi-layer technology. In order to increase a integration capability of the diplexer, it is designed using 3-dimensional (3-D) multi-layer compact inductor and capacitors in e-layer LTCC substrate with a relative dielectric constant of 7. In order to achieve high selectivity of the bands, a shunt capacitor and inductor are designed in the high-pass filter (HPF) and low-pass filter (LPF), respectively. The size of the fabricated diplexer including CPW pads is 3,450 ${\times}$4,000 ${\times}$694 ${\mu}m^3$An insertion loss (IL) and return loss in GSM band are less than -1.35dB and more than -5.66dB,respectively. In the case of CDMA band, the IL of -1.54dBandRLof above -9.30dBare archived.

  • In speech signal processing, speech signal corrupted by noise should be enhanced to improve quality. Usually noise estimation methods need flexibility for variable environment. Noise profile is renewed on silence region to avoid effects of speech properties. So we have to preprocess finding voice region before noise estimation. However, if received signal does not have silence region, we cannot apply that method. In this paper, we proposed SNR estimation method for continuous speech signal. A Speech signal consists of Voice and Unvoiced Band in The MBE excitation model. And the energy of speech signal is mostly distributed on voiced region, so we can estimate SNR by the ratio of voiced region energy to unvoiced. We use the IMBE vocoder for the Voice or Unvoice band of segmented speech signal. Continuously we calculate the segmented SNR using that information and the energy of each band. And we estimate the SNR of continuous speech signal.

  • Remote-sensing observation is one of the observation methods that provide valuable information, such as composition and surface physical conditions of solar system objects. The Hayabusa spacecraft succeeded in the first sample returning from a near-Earth asteroid, (25143) Itokawa. It has established a ground truth technique to connect between ordinary chondrite meteorites and S-type asteroids. One of the scientific observation instruments that Hayabusa carried, Asteroid Multi-band Imaging Camera(AMICA) has seven optical-near infrared filters (ul, b, v, w, x, p, and zs), taking more than 1400 images of Itokawa during the rendezvous phase. The reflectance of planetary body can provide valuable information of the surface properties, such as the optical aspect of asteroid surface at near zero phase angle (i.e. Sun-asteroid-observer's angle is nearly zero), light scattering on the surface, and surface roughness. However, only little information of the phase angle dependences of the reflectance of the asteroid is known so far. In this study, we investigated the phase angle dependences of Itokawa's surface to understand the surface properties in the solar phase angle of $0^{\circ}-40^{\circ}$ using AMICA images. About 700 images at the Hayabusa rendezvous phase were used for this study. In addition, we compared our result with those of several photometry models, Minnaert model, Lommel-Seeliger model, and Hapke model. At this conference, we focus on the AMICA's v-band data to compare with previous ground-based observation researches.

  • A software GNSS signal generator for the GPS L1/L2/L5 and Galileo E1/E5 signals is proposed in this paper. And this signal generator is designed and implemented with several components by considering the reuse and expansion of components for similar GNSS signals. The characteristics of the reusability of the components are confirmed with the carrier generation and the band-pass filter components. And the functionality of the GNSS multi-band IF signal generator is validated by using the commercial software GPS L1 receiver, and the performance of signal acquisition, tracking and accuracy of horizontal position error are analyzed for this validation. As a result, the GPS L1 signal generator operates successfully and it could be expected that other signal generators also operate well because most of components are the same as those of the GPS L1 signal generator.

  • Radiometric calibration is a prerequisite to quantitative remote sensing, and its accuracy has a direct impact on the reliability and accuracy of the quantitative application of remotely sensed data. This paper presents absolute radiometric calibration of the KOMPSAT-3 (KOrea Multi Purpose SATellite-3) and cross calibration using the Landsat-8 OLI (Operational Land Imager). Absolute radiometric calibration was performed using a reflectance-based method. Correlations between TOA (Top Of Atmosphere) radiances and the spectral band responses of the KOMPSAT-3 sensors in Goheung, South Korea, were significant for multispectral bands. A cross calibration method based on the Landsat-8 OLI was also used to assess the two sensors using near simultaneous image pairs over the Libya-4 PICS (Pseudo Invariant Calibration Sites). The spectral profile of the target was obtained from EO-1 (Earth Observing-1) Hyperion data over the Libya-4 PICS to derive the SBAF (Spectral Band Adjustment Factor). The results revealed that the TOA radiance of the KOMPSAT-3 agree with Landsat-8 within 5.14% for all bands after applying the SBAF. The radiometric coefficient presented here appears to be a good standard for maintaining the optical quality of the KOMPSAT-3.

  • In this paper, a mathematical model of describing oxygen density in multi-band type reheating furnaces was presented. Model designed in this paper was composed of majorly two parts. One is a model regarding 'variation of existing gas'. The other is a model of showing 'variation of oxygen content'. Each model is designed by considering four factors related to variation of oxygen density based on chemical reaction, fluid dynamics and fuzzy theory. Four factors to be considered are combustion reaction in burner, fluid transfer between adjacent combustion bands, fluid transfer from furnace's inner space to external space, and input of external air via gates. According to simulation results, it was shown that varying pattern of oxygen density in each combustion band is similar to generally expected operation data in reheating furnace.

  • In this paper, We proposed compact multi-layer LTCC (Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) bandpass filter for Bluetooth module. A ${\lambda}/4$ coupled stripline resonators are designed, which composed of coupled strip-line section and loading capacitance. This resonator with a loading capacitor has slow-wave characteristics. Due to the slow-wave effect of the proposed resonator, it is possible to design and fabricate a compact bandpass filter with a wide upper stop band. Attenuation poles in the lower stop band are achieved using controlling of electro-magnetic coupling between resonators. Using multi-layer LTCC technology, we designed and fabricated band pass filter with a finite attenuation pole and wide upper stopband. The overall size of the filter is $1.2{\times}2.0{\times}1.0mm^3$.
