In this paper, we proposed a new wavelet-based image fusion algorithm, which has advantages in both frequency and spatial domains for signal analysis. The developed algorithm compares the ratio of SAR image signal to optical image signal and assigns the SAR image signal to the fused image if the ratio is larger than a predefined threshold value. If the ratio is smaller than the threshold value, the fused image signal is determined by a weighted sum of optical and SAR image signal. The fusion rules consider the ratio of SAR image signal to optical image signal, image gradient and local variance of each image signal. We evaluated the proposed algorithm using Ikonos and TerraSAR-X satellite images. The proposed method showed better performance than the conventional methods which take only relatively strong SAR image signals in the fused image, in terms of entropy, image clarity, spatial frequency and speckle index.

A gap between a $Al_2O_3/Fe$ thermite and lower head vessel is formed in the lower-plenum arrested vessel attack(LAVA) experiment which is the 1st phase study of simulation of naturally arrested vessel attack in vessel(SONATA-IV). The gap measurement using a conventional ultrasonic method would be lack of a reliability due to the structure complexity and the metallurgical grain size change of the lower head HAZ occurred by a thermite $Al_2O_3/Fe$ melt or a $Al_2O_3$ melt at $2300^{\circ}C$. The grain echoes having false signals and lower S/N ratio signals are detected due to a multiple scattering, a mode conversion and an attenuation of a ultrasonic resulted from at the interface of increased grain size zone. In this test, the signals pattern was classified to understand the behavior of the ultrasonic in a multi-layer specimen of solid-liquid-solid of assuming that the thermite and the lower head vessel is immersed. The polarity threshold algorithm of frequency diversity gives us the enhancement about 6dB of the ratio S/N.
Speaker diarization, which labels for "who spoken when?" in speech with multiple speakers, has been studied on a deep neural network-based end-to-end method for labeling on speech overlap and optimization of speaker diarization models. Most deep neural network-based end-to-end speaker diarization systems perform multi-label classification problem that predicts the labels of all speakers spoken in each frame of speech. However, the performance of the multi-label-based model varies greatly depending on what the threshold is set to. In this paper, it is studied a speaker diarization system using single-label classification so that speaker diarization can be performed without thresholds. The proposed model estimate labels from the output of the model by converting speaker labels into a single label. To consider speaker label permutations in the training, the proposed model is used a combination of Permutation Invariant Training (PIT) loss and cross-entropy loss. In addition, how to add the residual connection structures to model is studied for effective learning of speaker diarization models with deep structures. The experiment used the Librispech database to generate and use simulated noise data for two speakers. When compared with the proposed method and baseline model using the Diarization Error Rate (DER) performance the proposed method can be labeling without threshold, and it has improved performance by about 20.7 %.

This paper proposed a new fast multi-reference frame motion estimation algorithm. The proposed algorithm reduces search areas of motion estimation using a linear relation of motion vector with distance of each reference frame. New algorithm executes full search area motion estimation in reference frame 0 and reference frame 1. After that, search areas in reference frame 2, reference frame 3 and reference frame 4 are minimized by distance of each reference frame and results of motion estimation in reference frame 0 and reference frame 1. The proposed algorithm does not use a threshold value which is obstacle of hardware implementation and processing time schedule. Also, it reduced computation quantity of multi-reference motion estimation. Hardware implementation of multi-reference frame motion estimation is possible by these features. Simulation results show that PSNR drop and bitrate increase of proposed algorithm are lower than those of previous fast multi-reference frame motion estimation algorithm The number of computation of new algorithm is reduced 52.5% and quality of result is negligible when compared with full search area motion estimation which has 5 reference frames.

Vegetation information is a very important factor used in various fields such as urban planning, landscaping, water resources, and the environment. Vegetation varies according to canopy density or chlorophyll content, but vegetation vitality is not considered when classifying vegetation areas in previous studies. In this study, in order to satisfy various applied studies, a study was conducted to set a threshold value of vegetation index considering vegetation vitality. First, an eBee fixed-wing drone was equipped with a multi-spectral camera to construct optical and near-infrared orthomosaic images. Then, GIS calculation was performed for each orthomosaic image to calculate the NDVI, GNDVI, SAVI, and MSAVI vegetation index. In addition, the vegetation position of the target site was investigated through VRS survey, and the accuracy of each vegetation index was evaluated using vegetation vitality. As a result, the scenario in which the vegetation vitality point was selected as the vegetation area was higher in the classification accuracy of the vegetation index than the scenario in which the vegetation vitality point was slightly insufficient. In addition, the Kappa coefficient for each vegetation index calculated by overlapping with each site survey point was used to select the best threshold value of vegetation index for classifying vegetation by scenario. Therefore, the evaluation of vegetation index accuracy considering the vegetation vitality suggested in this study is expected to provide useful information for decision-making support in various business fields such as city planning in the future.

Diverse multimedia services will be deployed at hand on 3G-and-beyond multi-service CDMA systems in order to satisfy different quality of service (QoS) according to traffic types. In order to use appropriate resources efficiently the call admission control (CAC) as a major resource control mechanism needs to be used to take care of efficient utilization of limited resources. In this paper, we propose a QoS-aware CAC (QCAC) that is enabled to provide service fairness and service differentiation in accordance with priority order and that applies the different thresholds in received power considering different QoS requirements such as different bit error rates (BER) when adopting total received power as the ceil load estimation. The proposed QCAC calculates the different thresholds of the different traffic types based on different required BER applies it for admission policy, and can get service fairness and differentiation in terms of call dropping probability as a main performance metric. The QCAC is aware of the QoS requirement per traffic type and allows admission discrimination according to traffic types in order to minimize the probability of QoS violation. Also the CAC needs to consider the resource allocation schemes such as complete sharing (CS), complete partitioning (CP), and priority sharing(PS) in order to provide fairness and service differentiation among traffic types. Among them, PS is closely related with the proposed QCAC having differently calculated threshold per each traffic type according to traffic priority orders.

In this paper, we propose a sub-cell coverage control algorithm for enhancement of the cell throughput in OFDMA based relay systems. Relay station (RS) is exploited for improved quality of the received signal in cellular communication systems, especially in shadow areas. However, since a RS requires additional radio resource consumption for the link between the base station (BS) and the RS, we have to carefully control the coverage areas if a mobile station (MS) is serviced via the BS or the RS considering the cell throughput. We consider radio resource reuse as well for the sub-cell coverage configuration by applying various reuse patterns between RSs. We also consider a time varying system by adaptively changing the threshold for coverage depending on the MSs' traffic in the cell. We initially determine the sub-cell coverage of the system depending on the ratio of received signal-interference-noise-ratio (SINR) of the MS from the BS and RSs, respectively. Then, the "sub-cell coverage threshold" varies based on the "effective transmitted bits per sub-channel" with time. Simulation result shows that the proposed "time varying coverage control algorithm" leads to throughput improvement compared to the fixed sub-cell coverage configuration.

This paper is concerned with the performance analysis of a modified stop-and-go generalized multi-modulus algorithm (MSAG-GMMA) adaptive blind equalization algorithm with variable step size. The proposed algorithm multiplies the fixed step size by the error signal of the decision-oriented algorithm in the equalization coefficient update equation, and changes the step size according to the error size. Also, the MSAG-GMMA having a fixed step size is operated so as to maintain a fast convergence speed from a certain threshold to a steady state by determining the error signal size of the decision-directed algorithm, and when the MSAG-GMMA to work To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we use the ensemble ISI, ensemble-averaged MSE, and equalized constellation obtained from the output of the equalizer as the performance index. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has faster convergence speeds than MMA, GMMA, and MSAG-GMMA and has a small residual error in steady state.
Replica bit-line technique is used for making enable signal of sense amplifier which accurately tracks bit-line of SRAM. However, threshold voltage variation in the replica bit-line circuit changes the cell current, which results in variation of the sense amplifier enable time, $T_{SAE}$. The variation of $T_{SAE}$ makes the sensing operation unstable. In this paper, in addition to conventional replica bit-line delay ($RBL_{conv}$), dual replica bit-line delay (DRBD) and multi-stage dual replica bit-line delay (MDRBD) which are used for reducing $T_{SAE}$ variation are briefly introduced, and the maximum possible number of on-cell which can satisfy $6{\sigma}$ sensing yield is determined through simulation at a supply voltage of 0.6V with 14nm FinFET technology. As a result, it is observed that performance of DRBD and MDRBD is improved 24.4% and 48.3% than $RBL_{conv}$ and energy consumption is reduced which 8% and 32.4% than $RBL_{conv}$.

This study was conducted to evaluate breakthrough characteristics of respirator cartridge using multi-organic vapors, including carbon tetrachloride, trichloroethylene, and toluene. The organic vapors were used as single phase, binary system, and ternary system. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Organic vapors studied were 1,000 ppm, 750 ppm, 500 ppm and 250 ppm in single phase. Carbon tetrachloride having the highest molecular weight showed the breakthrough first, and breakthrough sequency by organic vapor was dependent on its molecular weight. The 10% breakthrough times at 1,000 ppm of organic vapor were 97 minutes for carbon tetrachloride, 129 minutes for trichloroethylene and 135 minutes for toluene. 2. When concentrations of organic vapors were at levels of the Threshold Limit Values, the lives of the respirator cartridges were 122 hours in carbon tetrachloride, 18 hours in trichloroethylene and 28 hours in toluene. 3. In the binary system at a total concentration of 1,000 ppm with carbon tetrachloride and trichloroethylene, breakthrough times ranged from 104 minutes to 125 minutes, which were longer than 97 minutes in a single phase (1,000 ppm) for carbon tetrachloride, but shorter than breakthrough times for TCE and Toluene. 4. Breakthrough times in the binary system with carbon tetrachloride and toluene were 131~132 minutes. 5. Breakthrough times in the ternary system with carbon tetrachloride, toluene, and trichloroethyl ene were $120{\pm}8$ minutes, which were longer than 97 minutes in the single phase (1,000 ppm) for carbon tetrachloride, equal to 129 minutes for trichloroethylene, and shorter than 135 minutes for toluene. Those were almost similar to $124{\pm}9$ minutes of breakthrough times in the binary systems.
