Multinational Products for Consumer-Driven Global Sourcing Strategies

  • Purpose - This study aims to proposes a conceptual framework to segment multi-national products based on a Chinese consumer's perception of multi-national products, to find the role of consumer ethnocentrism (CET) in country of origin (COO) effects for Chinese, and to figure out how different dimension of CET Effects on purchase intention developed market and home country. Research design, data and methodology - This study selected a 2×2×2 factorial design for the hypothesis test based on the product category × combination of manufactured type × Ethnocentrism level. This study distinguishes products between luxury (Burberry) and non-luxury (Nike) products and choose combination of manufactured type (Spain vs India/ Spain vs China) in order to perform comparative studies. A total of 223 Chinese participated in the experiment. After being exposed to each scenario, participants were asked to respond to questions about brand preference and purchase intention Results - Regarding to luxury made in developed country, it is worth that exposing COO information to low level of ethnocentrism consumers. Regarding to non-luxury product made in emerging country, it makes it worse when COO information to high level of ethnocentrism consumers. Lastly, regarding to non-luxury product, patriotic consumers prefer to purchase product made in home country.

이용점포 유형에 따른 플러스 사이즈 여성의류 시장세분화 (Segmenting the Plus-size Women's Apparel Consumers using Store Patronage)

  • The purposes of this study were to segment the women's plus-size market by the types of store patronage, profile the segments, and examine the differences in satisfaction with clothing attributes and variety of plus-size apparels according to different segments. The questionnaires included the 7-point likert scales on store patronage, satisfaction, clothing involvement and body cathexis. Five body measurements were recorded by sales people, and the respondents also provided information on their weight, height and garment size in addition to demographic characteristics. Questionnaires were collected from 7 franchise stores in Seoul, Anyang, Daegu, and Cheonan during the months of February, 2011 to April, 2011. 210 questionnaires were distributed and 160 were returned. Excluding incomplete questionnaires, a total of 149 questionnaires were used in the final analysis. The cluster analysis based on store patronage identified four segments- major patrons of specialty stores, multi-channel users, regular store users, and internet shopping mall users. Significant differences were found among the four segments of women's plus-size consumers in terms of clothing involvement, age, occupation, education and clothing expenditures. Internet shopping mall user group were in overall less satisfied with several clothing attributes and variety compared to other groups.

의료복합시설 개발을 위한 시설용도별 이용자 선택기준에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Consumer Choice Criteria based on Facility Purpsoe for Multi-Mixed Complex Medical Care Facility Development)

  • 소득수준 향상 및 인구특성 변화에 따라 증가하는 복합의료서비스 수요에 대응하여 본 연구는 의료복합시설을 부동산개발을 위한 독립적인 대상으로 고려하여 의료복합시설 개발을 위한 시설용도별 이용자 선택기준에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 이를 위해 개발수요분석을 위한 기초자료로서 시설선택기준을 정의하고 AHP분석을 통해 중요도와 우선순위를 도출하였다. 의료복합시설을 구성하는 '의료관련시설', '지원시설', '보건 및 편의시설' 및 '기타시설'의 네 가지 시설용도에 따라 중요도를 비교 분석한 결과, '시설의 수준', '이용가격', '이용 편리성', '병원의 수준', '서비스', '인접성', '교통의 편리성' 등의 기준들이 서로 다른 차이를 보여 복합 시설 용도 별 이용객의 선택속성에 대한 시사점을 제공하였다. 연구결과를 통해 향후 의료복합시설 개발 시 타당성 분석 및 평가를 위한 기초적인 자료를 마련하고 용도 간의 최적의 조합을 통한 시설구성 대안을 도출하여 효율적인 개발을 위한 자료로 활용되고자 한다.

  • The origin of Minivan styled RV dates all the way back to the year 1959 when Volkswagen introduced the Microbus in Germany. But the new category of "Minivan" was made, and first used by Chrysler. This was when Chrysler revealed a new vehicle in 1982 named "Minivan". Minivan was successful in gathering the public attention with it′s multi-purpose characteristic. Ever since, many models were introduced in this category by various auto-makers around the world, which made the Minivan segment very competitive. Various Minivans were also introduced by the Korean auto-makers and these models have been finding their place rapidly in the market owing to their unique characteristics. But the reason for the growth of the Minivan category in Korea was quite different from that of other nations. Through out this thesis, the possibilities of a Minivan that can full fill the needs of a new life style of a family in the basis of various documentary records will be discussed. Ways of making roads, where bigger sized Minivans are continuously increasing, more efficient will also be considered. The main topic of this thesis will be about Minivan styled RV(Recreational vehicle) in relation to the change of Korean life style.

혜택세분화와 인식도에 의한 인터넷쇼핑몰 이미지 연구 (Analysis of Internet Shopping-Mall Images Through Benefit Segmentation and Perceptual Mapping)

  • The purpose of this study were 1) to find out the benefits sought factors and segment the customers of internet shopping mall, 2) to find out the store image factors of internet shopping mall, and 3) to analyze the internet shopping mall market using perceptual map of segmented groups. The questionnaires dealing with attribute dimension of internet shopping mall image, benefits sought, and demographic variables were selected from the previous studies or were developed for this study. The data from 319 respondents which were collected through the internet survey site was analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, and $X^2$-test. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Benefit sought by consumer in internet shopping malls was found to include six different factors: assortments of products, search efficiency, brand/fashionability, delivery convenience, promotion service and informativeness. 2. As a result of subdividing the consumers, four distinctive groups were formed on the basis of benefit factors: multi-benefit oriented group, convenience oriented group, brand oriented group and low-benefit oriented group. Demographic traits such as education and income level were proven to significantly differentiate the benefit segments. 3. In the structural components of internet shopping-malls image, product/information, service/convenience and economy were drawn from attribute dimensions. 4. 12 perceptual maps of internet shopping mall image were constructed and each ideal vector were drawn.

부동산 하부시장 구획: 헤도닉 모형의 개선을 중심으로 (Submarket Identification in Property Markets: Focusing on a Hedonic Price Model Improvement)

  • 부동산 가격을 추정하기 위한 헤도닉 모형(hedonic model)의 적용에서 가장 중요한 사안은 모형의 정확한 구성과 하부시장의 구획이라 할 수 있다. 모형의 구성에 대해서는 비교적 활발한 개선 노력이 있었으나 하부시장 구획은 상대적으로 큰 관심을 받지 못하였다. 그러나 부동산 가격형성 과정의 공간적 범위 파악이 선행되지 않으면 헤도닉 모형의 적용 결과는 그 정확성이 저하될 수밖에 없다. 본 연구는 헤도닉 모형의 성능 개선에 초점을 두고, 서울시 25개 자치구 중 상대적으로 이질적인 부동산 집단으로 구성된 강남구와 비교적 균일한 부동산 집단으로 이루어진 중랑구를 사례지역으로 하여 하부시장 구획을 시도하였다. 먼저 하부시장 구획을 위한 투입변수로 혼합 GWR(Mixed GWR) 모형에서 산출된 가변 회귀계수(variable coefficients)를 사용하였다. 헤도닉 모형의 회귀계수는 부동산을 구성하는 속성항목(attributes)의 잠재가격(shadow price)으로 해석할 수 있기 때문이다. 다음으로 공간적으로 연접된 하부시장을 구획하기 위해 최소신장트리(minimum spanning tree)에 기반한 SKATER 앨고리듬을 사례지역에 적용하였다. 마지막으로 다수준 모형(multi-level model)을 적용하여 구획된 하부시장 결과의 적정성을 검토하였다. 검토 결과, 중랑구는 하부시장이 존재하지 않음을, 강남구는 간선도로를 중심으로 한 5개의 하부시장으로 구분하는 것이 합리적임을 확인하였다. 간선도로와 같은 도시의 인프라는 하부시장 구획에 있어 지금까지 큰 주목을 받지 못한 변수였으나 본 연구를 통해 그 중요성이 실증적으로 확인되었다.

대학생의 모발화장품 추구혜택과 정보원 활용 (A Study on the University Students′ Benefits Sought and the Use of Information Sources on the Hair Care Cosmetics)

  • The purpose of this study were to segment the hair care cosmetics market according to the benefits sought, to categorize the information sources on the hair care cosmetics, and to characterize the profiles of the segmentized groups of university students. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 457 university students in Chonbuk province from Jul. 10 to Jul. 21, 1999. Frequencies and percentages were calculated, and factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, and $\chi$$^2$-test were used. The results were: 1. University student's benefit variables on hair care cosmetics were classified into special function, fashion, practicality, brand, fragrance, styling, nutritional reinforcement, and economy. And they were segmentized into the feeling pursuit, the multi-benefit pursuit, the practicality pursuit, the benefit unconscious, and the function pursuit. The information sources were classified into marketer-dominated sources, neutral sources and consumer -dominated sources. 2. The feeling pursuit strongly sought for fashion, brand and fragrance pursuit, but considered economy less, chiefly used the marketer-dominated and neutral information sources, and showed much interests in hair care cosmetics, and were consisted of women dominantly. The multi-benefits pursuit sought for various kinds of benefits from hair care cosmetics, depended heavily on various kinds of information sources, were well aware of their hair types and instructions on the hair care cosmetics label, and were consisted of women dominantly. The practicality pursuit highly sought for practicality, but low on the fashion, were not aware of their hair style, haler care, hair health status and hair type, and almost half of them are men. The benefit unconscious showed low concern about, all kinds of benefits and hair care cosmetics, and were consisted of more men than women. The function pursuit highly sought for special function and nutritional reinforcement, mainly depended on the consumer-dominated sources. and showed low concern about their hair style and hair care.
