다국어 대화체 번역 시스템은 미국의 카네기 멜론 대학과 일본의 ATR 및 한국의 전자통신연구원 등이 가입한 CSTAR의 99년 국제간 음성언어번역 시스템 데모를 위한 한국어측 번역 시스템이다. CSTAR-IF는 국제간 데모를 위해 각 국의 시스템끼리 주고 받는 정보의 단위 혹은 형태로서, 중간언어 표현의 한 가지 방법으로 간단하면서도 단순한 표현으로 특정 영역 내에 나타나는 의미를 표현할 수 있도록 정의되었다. 다국어 번역 시스템은 크게 두 가지로 나누어진다. 하나는 한국어 음성인식 결과를 IF로 변환하는 해석 시스템이고, 다른 하나는 IF로부터 한국어 문장을 생성하여 음성으로 들려주는 생성 시스템이다. 한국어 해석 시스템은 현재 92%의 해석 성공률을, 생성 시스템은 98%의 생성 성공률을 보이고 있다.

본 논문은 자연어 인터페이스에 기반한 관계형 데이터베이스 상에서의 질의 응답 시스템에 대해 기술한다. 본 시스템은 다국어, 다중 도메인, 다중 DBMS를 지원하는 시스템으로, 주로 오디오와 비디오 관련 제품들에 대한 정보를 다룬다. Lexico-semantic pattern (LSP) 문법을 관계형 데이터베이스 상에서의 질의 응답 시스템에 최초로 도입하여 기존의 시스템들에 비해 높은 성능을 보이며, linguistic front-end (LFE)와 database back-end (DBE)를 명확히 구분하고 각종 리소스들을 엔진과 분리함으로써 높은 이식성을 가지도록 한다.

여러 언어들로 작성된 웹문서들을 다국어 기계번역기에서 번역하기 위해서는 우선 해당 웹문서가 어떠한 언어로 작성되었는지를 알아내야 한다. 코드 분석을 통하여 웹문서를 작성한 언어를 알게되면 해당 언어를 번역하는 기계번역기를 작동시킬 수 있다. 또한, 웹문서에서 기계번역의 대상은 HTML 태그를 제외한 일반 문장이다. 따라서, 웹용 기계번역의 전처리기에서 웹문서에서 HTML 태그를 분리하여야 하며 번역이 완료된 후 번역된 문서에 HTML 태그를 복원하여 웹브라우저에서 번역된 문서를 볼 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 웹용 다국어 기계번역을 위한 전처리기의 태그관리기와 코드인식기를 설명한다.

ETRI 통신단말연구부에서는 1999년 7월 22일에 C-STAR 회원국이 함께 참여하는 국제간 음성언어번역 시스템 공동 시연을 가졌다. 이 논문은 다국어 대화체 번역시스템인 음성언어번역 시스템의 국제간 공동 시연에 사용된 한국어 번역 시스템의 성능에 대해 기술한다. 번역 시스템의 성능은 전사문장을 이용한 영어, 일본어, 한국어의 번역 결과와 음성인식 결과를 이용한 각 언어의 번역 결과를 평가하여 얻었다. 그리고 세부 시스템의 성능을 알아보기 위해 음성인식의 결과로부터 C-STAR IF(interchange format)까지의 해석 시스템과 C-STAR IF로부터 한국어, 영어, 일본어로 생성해 내는 생성 시스템의 성능으로 나누어서 평가한다.

This study presents a new conceptualization of the history of Islamic astronomy. Islamic history is an embedded global cultural phenomenon and will be analyzed at different levels: a) the history of institutional aspects (observatories, including buildings), b) instruments, c) manuscripts, and d) scholars. This phenomenon will be analyzed as a multi-lingual phenomenon with Arabic as the language of sciences as a starting point. Although this is not a study of a geographical region in a narrow sense, it is a historical note on the entanglement of research written in Arabic, Persian and other languages and contextualized in a framework reaching geographically far beyond the confines of the Islamic world and being part of global history.

People frequently feel the need of a general searching tool that frees from language barrier when they find information through the internet. Therefore, it is necessary to have a multilingual parallel corpus to search with a word that includes a search keyword and has a corresponding word in another language, Multilingual parallel corpus can be built and reused effectively through the several processes which are judgment of the web documents, sentence alignment and word alignment. To build a multilingual parallel corpus, multi-lingual dictionary should be constructed in each language and HTML should be simplified. And by understanding the meaning and the statistics of document structure, judgment on translated web documents will be made and the searched web pages will be aligned in sentence unit.

재난상황에서 통신망의 불통상황에 대비하여 지상파 방송망을 통한 재난경보메시지를 전달하는 것이 사회안전망의 구축을 위해 매우 중요하게 부각되고 있다. 특히, 사회가 국제화 되고 다양한 국가의 사람들과의 경제 교류를 통해 국내 서비스라고 할지라도 외국인을 대상으로 한 재난경보 메시지도 제공 되어야 재난 상황에서 인명 피해를 최소화 할 수 있다. 지상파 방송 시스템은 비디오 등 정규 프로그램 편성 외에 데이터 채널을 활용하여 다양한 정보를 송출할 수 있으며, ATSC 3.0 방송 시스템은 IP 방식의 데이터 송출을 통해 특정 대상을 타겟으로 정보를 보내는 것이 가능하다. 따라서 이러한 지상파 방송망을 통한 IP 데이터 송출의 장점을 잘 활용하면 재난 상황에서 적은 데이터를 가지고도 효율적으로 다양한 언어로 국민들에게 안전 정보를 보낼 수 있다. 이를 통해 국내 거주 외국인들이 재난에 대비하는데 크게 기여할 수 있다. 본 연구는 디지털 방송망을 통해 다국어 재난메시지를 보내기 위한 효율적인 방법을 제안한다.

신경망 기반의 다국어 및 교차 언어 정보 검색 모델은 타겟 언어로 된 학습 데이터가 필요하지만, 이는 고자원 언어에 치중되어있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해 영어 학습 데이터와 한국어-영어 병렬 말뭉치만을 이용한 효과적인 다국어 정보 검색 모델 학습 방법을 제안한다. 언어 예측 태스크와 경사 반전 계층을 활용하여 인코더가 언어에 구애 받지 않는 벡터 표현을 생성하도록 학습 방법을 고안하였고, 이를 한국어가 포함된 다국어 정보 검색 벤치마크에 대해 실험하였다. 본 실험 결과 제안 방법이 다국어 사전학습 모델과 영어 데이터만을 이용한 베이스라인보다 높은 성능을 보임을 실험적으로 확인하였다. 또한 교차 언어 정보 검색 실험을 통해 현재 검색 모델이 언어 편향성을 가지고 있으며, 성능에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것을 보였다.

This study aims to analyze contents of websites which provide health information service. The study reviewed 5 websites and selected 15 sample contents among them. Based on the case model that extracted the contents from the websites, this research analyzed the usefulness of the contents. As a result, the usefulness of all the contents are rated above the average. Among the contents, The active core contents include 'information for librarians', 'information bout cancer', 'health related database', and 'multi-lingual health information'.

Newley developed dentin bonding system which contains self-etching primer performed the removing of smear layer and etching procedure at once. So, it make possible more simple and shorter working time, the stronger bonding strength than conventional dentin bonding system. Cavities were prepared in the buccal and lingual surface of 30 extracted primary molars, and randomly assigned into three equal groups of 10 each. All cavities were filled with Z-100 composite resin following manufacturer's specifications after priming of three different dentin bonding system. Specimens stored for 7 days in 37 degree C water, thermocycled for 1000 cycles between 5 degree C and 55 degree C, immersed in 50% silvernitrate solution for 24 hours, and embedded in resin before being sectioned longitudinally. Data were analyzed by t-test and ANOVA. Mac-Bond II and Clearfil Linear-Bond II showed less microleakage at the occlusal and gingival margins compared to Scotchbond Multi Purpose. All dentin bonding systems showed significantly less microleakage at the occlusal margins compared to the gingival margins. But, there were no significantley difference between each group.
