  • The most important things to the tube the of the heat exchanger are the precision of t hole position and the quality of the drill face. Nowadays, 6 and 12 spindle multi-drilling machine controlled by CNC or used to drill holes of the tube sheet. The drilling of 12 axes can offer high speover three times as fast as the drilling of axis. However, the drilling of 12 axes h difficulty in controlling many motors to d spindles and assigning a corresponded numbe accurately to each axis. In the past, conventional method to inspect the code the drilling was machining holes on a thin plate previously which resulted in the productivity because it required a h production cost by machining and weldin time. In this thesis, there are two drilling codes different from CNC code. M code is used to control many motors and S code is used to assign a correspondent number for each axis. For increasing the productivity by removing process, this paper is intended to take simulation of the drill machining c including 6 and 12 axis on the persona computer.

  • This paper addresses the application of an active magnetic bearing (AMB) system to levitate the elevation axis of an electro-optical sight mounted on a moving vehicle. In this type of system, it is desirable to retain the elevation axis in an air-gap between magnetic bearing stators while the vehicle is moving. To eliminate disturbance responses, a disturbance observer based sliding mode control is developed. This control can decouple disturbance observation dynamics from sliding mode dynamics and preserves the robustness of the sliding control. The sliding surfaces are designed in the consideration of scattering of received image. The proposed control is applied to a 2-DOF active magnetic bearing system subject to base motion. Along with experimental results, the feasibility of the proposed technique is illustrated.

  • Robot manipulator has highly nonlinear dynamics. Therefore the control of multi-link robot arms is a challenging and difficult problem. In this paper a decentralized adaptive fuzzy sliding mode scheme is developed for control of robot manipulators. The proposed scheme does not require an accurate manipulator dynamic model, yet it guarantees asymptotic trajectory tracking despite gross robot parameter variations. Numerical simulation for decentralized control of a 3-axis PUMA arm will also be included.

  • The importance of sensing the force and torque with arbitrary direction and magnitude is becoming more crucial for robotic applications and manufacturing automations. Recently, several designs of a multi-axis force-torque sensor have been tried to sense this force and torque. This paper deals mainly with the signal processing of a six-axis force-torque sensor using cross-shaped elastic structures with circular holes. In this paper, we show principle of sensing force and torque, the signal processing methodology, and efficient methods of seeking strain gage positions in the sensor structure. The validity of the proposed method is shown via experiments.

  • This paper presented a new experimental gain tuning technique for a Multi-Axis Servo System. First, the investigation for proportional gain of velocity control loop by using a Dynamic Signal Analyzer (DSA) was performed. Using the FUNCTION characteristic of DSA based on the Bode plot, the Bode plot of open loop transfer function was obtained. In turn, the integral gain of a servo controller can be found out by using the Integration time constant extracted from the Bode plot of open loop transfer function. In the meanwhile, the positional gain of the servo controller has been obtained by using the Bode plot of the closed loop transfer function. We have also proposed the technique to find out an optimal parameter of a notch filter, which has a great influence on vibration reduction, by using the damping factor extracted from the Bode plot of closed loop transfer function.

  • Nanopositioning technologies play an important role in the progress of electronics, optics, bio-engineering and various nano-scale technologies. As a result, various practical nanopositioning methods have been successfully introduced. Flexure mechanism is a valuable method in nanopositioning because of smooth and friction-free motion and the infinitesimal movement near to sub-nm. In this study a modularized nanopositioner based on parallelogram four-bar linkage structure with right-circular flexure hinge was developed. The positioning performance of a single axis nanopositioner and a XY nanopositioner which was extended from single axis one were demonstrated using control experiments. Consequently, it was shown that the developed single axis nanopositioner possessed high performance and could be extended to various multi-axis nanopositioners.

  • In this paper, we have developed a general purpose motion controller using an FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array). The multi-PID controllers on a single chip are implemented as a system-on-chip for multi-axis motion control. We also develop a PC GUI for an efficient interface control. Comparing with the commercial motion controller LM 629 it has multi-independent PID controllers so that it has several advantages such as space effectiveness, low cost and lower power consumption. In order to test the performance of the proposed controller, robot finger is controlled. The robot finger has three fingers with 2 joints each. Finger movements show that position tracking was very effective. Another experiment of balancing an inverted pendulum on a cart has been conducted to show the generality of the proposed FPGA PID controller. The controller has well maintained the balance of the pendulum.
