Implementation of 3D Motion Simulator with Two Degrees of Freedom (2자유도를 갖는 3차원 운동 시뮬레이터 연구)

  • In this work, we have developed a 2 degrees of freedom(DOF) motion simulator that can generate the sensation of motion in a 6 DOF space. The motion base has the DOF of roll and pitch, and the purpose of the motion base is to create the sensation of riding a vehicle in a 3D space by controlling the motion base. The dynamics of the mechanism was analysed and the optimal design of the motion base mechanism has been reached. The prototype motion base mechanism was developed and tested. The multi-axis motion controller(MMC) was used to control the two AC servo meters that drive the roll and pitch motion.

  • Control of multi-link robot arms is a challenging and difficult problem because of the highly nonlinear dynamics. Independent joint adaptive scheme is developed for control of robot manipulators based on Sugeno-type of fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic system is used to approximate the coupling forces among the joints, coriolis force, centrifugal force, gravitational force, and frictional forces. The proposed scheme does not require an accurate manipulator dynamic, and it is proved that closed-loop system is asymptotic stable despite the gross robot parameter variations. Numerical simulations for three-axis PUMA robot are included to show the effectiveness of controller.

  • Good quality superconducting $YBa_2Cu_30_{7-{\delta}}$(YBCO) thin films were grown on Hastelloy (Ni-Cr-Mo alloys) with yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) buffer layers by in situ pulsed laser deposition in a multi-target processing chamber. Generally, Hastelloy exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion, fatigue, thermal shock, impact, and erosion. However, it is difficult to make films on flexible metallic substrates due to interdiffusion problems between metallic substrates and superconducting overlayers. To overcome this difficulty, it is necessary to use YSZ buffer layer since it will not only limit the interdiffusion process but also minimize the surface microcrack formation due to smaller mismatch between the film and the substrate. In order to enhance the crystallinity of YBCO films on metallic substrates, YSZ buffer layers were grown at various temperatures different from the deposition temperature of YBCO films. On YSZ buffer layer grown at higher temperature than that for depositing YBCO film, the YBCO thin film was found to be textured with c-axis orientation by x-ray diffraction and had a zero-resistance critical temperature of about 85K.

  • The optical element was usually used in optical devices and optical transfer devices, but it has been recently used in communication, computer and medical equipment. With the development of very high speed optical-communication, the development of the kernel parts of optical communication has also increased. Presently, the alignment of the optical element is time consuming, and an effective alignment algorithm has not yet to be developed. In this paper, the alignment automation of the optical element is studied. The ultra precision stage is applied to an optical element alignment to improve the accuracy of the alignment. The automation program of the optical element alignment is developed by LabVIEW programming to save the alignment time. The alignment algorithms of the optical element consist of field search and peak search algorithms.

  • Recent ultra-precision machining systems have nano-scale resolution, and can machine various shapes of complex structures using five-axis driven modules. These systems are also multi-functional, which can perform various processes such as planing, milling, turning et al. in one system. Micro machining technology using these systems is being developed for machining fine patterns, hybrid patterns and high aspect-ratio patterns on large-area molds with high productivity. These technology is and will be applied continuously to the fields of optics, display, energy, bio, communications and et al. Domestic and foreign trends of micro machining technologies for flat molds were investigated in this study. Especially, we focused on the types and the characteristics of ultra-precision machining systems and application fields of micro patterns machined by the machining system.

  • This paper presents a design method for the structural-acoustic coupled radiator that can emit sound in the desired direction. A coupled system that has a finite space and a semi-infinite space separated by two flexible walls and an opening is considered. An objective function is selected to maximize radiation power on a main axis and minimize a side lobe level. To get initial values, prediction of a pressure distribution on field points and radiation pattern of the structural-acoustic coupling system is shown at a coupled-resonant frequency. Three different optimization methods are adapted to design the coupled radiator. Pressure and intensity distribution of the designed radiator is presented.

  • In the electronic, medical, aerospace and automobile industries, many products and parts are manufactured by joining. Recently, as these get smaller, micro joining is becoming more and more important. In this study, micro wire-to-micro wire parallel joining was performed using single mode fiber laser. Maximum power of the fiber laser is 100 W. The CCD(Charge- Coupled Device, CCD) camera to observe the specimen was made up. The objective was applied to micro joining system to make a small spot size of laser beam. In order to control the target position, micro-multi-axis-stage was set up. This paper presents results for the single mode fiber laser joining of micro wires.

  • In this paper, the finite element modeling of the RK4 rotor kit system (RK4) and then transient analysis, and was compared with the actual experimental results. RK4 manufactured by General Electric for the purpose of education and research. It is modeled by using the ANSYS finite element analysis program commercially available. Considering the rotor abnormal conditions(disc unbalance and shaft rubbing) and the vibration response of the analytical model were compared with experimental results.

  • In case of aluminum-cased battery, The ratio of height and base of square is generally above the ten times, square-shaped and problem of non-axis symmetry. It is typical model to set up the analysis method of finite element. The reliable analysis of finite element method is suggested, which is used to investigate the possibility that multi-stage deep drawing and ironing used currently is replaced by backward impact extrusion favorable in the respect of cost production and productivity. The influence of parameter was analyzed and compared, which was considered to analyze the process of large deformation plasticity such as extrusion. Die and billet was made as the same shape of finite element model. The results of experiment show good forming without the rupture and wrinkles with the optimum velocity 100mm/sec obtained by analysis.
