In this paper, we propose the delta-shaped interpolation method for displaying multi-source video signals on a-Si TFT LCD Panel. The proposed method can be implemented by using less circuits than the conventional methods. Thus it can be applied to the FPD(Flat Panel Display) system without any cost increase such as field memory cost. In order to compare the picture quality of the proposed method with that of the conventional methods, the computer simulation has been executed by checking PSNR, which is especially focused on the edge characteristics. The simulation results show that the proposed method is better than others from the point of view on the edge and local characteristics of the image. Finally, the characteristics and trade-off of the proposed method are discussed.

In this paper, we designed and implemented a personal VOD server using multi-thread for the real-time services of video data to the users. The system consists of service manager, disk manager, and network manager. The service manager controls the user admission to the system using the VBR(Variable Bit Rate) characteristics of MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) video data. The disk manager provides the functions for VCR-like operations. The disk manager reads blocks from the disk by the size of GOP(Group of Pictures) and buffers the data to the user's thread. The network manager uses TCP/IP for the communication between the server and the client. The communication starts from the client and the VOD server must respond to this request. The implemented personal VOD system shows an acceptable performance.

Recently various prediction structures have been proposed to exploit inter-view correlation among multi-view video sequences. In this paper, we propose a QP(quantization parameter) selection method for the B frame inserted in the first frames of each GOP(group of pictures), where we change QP for the B frame adaptively to achieve uniform picture quality and overall coding gain. Each B frame is coded with reference to two frames in its adjacent views. We calculate QP for the B frame based on the correlation between the two reference frames, calculated using their rate-distortion costs. By applying the proposed method to the MVC reference prediction structure, we have improved the coding gain by 0.09$\sim$0.16 dB.

This paper examined closely on the application of the private securities to the measures for countering terrorism. It is related to the fact that the role of human information comes into the picture nowadays. On closer examination of the application of the private securities to the national facilities, transportation, and multi-use facilities, it was found that having consistent commissioned education through the private-public cooperation and enacting legislation for allowing armed guard to board ships, making private security guards to use sniffer dogs, placing private security guards in each subway station is required, and the active publicity campaign of the government concerned needs to take place for directing and setting up the system for supervising managers of the authorities and changing the way they think of countering terrorism.

We studied recent evolution of M31 and M33 with star-forming regions and hot massive stars. We use GALEX far-UV and near-UV imaging to detect the star-forming regions and trace the recent star formation across the entire disk of galaxies. The GALEX imaging, combining deep sensitivity and entire coverage of these galaxies, provides a complete picture of the recent star formation in M31 and M33, and its variation with environment throughout these galaxies. We also show results from recent extensive surveys in M31 and M33 with Hubble Space Telescope multi-wavelength data including UV filters, which imaged several regions at a linear resolution of less than half a pc in these galaxies. Both datasets allow us to study the hierarchical structure of star formation: the youngest stellar groups are the most compact, and are often arranged withing broader, sparser structures. The derived recent star-formation rates are rather similar for the two galaxies, when scaled for the respective areas.

A set of modal parameters of a stay-cable have been extracted from a moving picture captured by a digital camera supported by shaking hands. It is hard to identify the center of targets attached on the cable surface from the blurred cable motion image, because of the high speed motion of cable, low sampling frequency of camera, and the shaking effect of camera. This study proposes a multi-template matching algorithm to resolve such difficulties. In addition, a sensitivity-based system identification algorithm is introduced to extract the natural frequencies and damping ratios from the ambient cable vibration data. Three sets of vibration tests are conducted to examine the validity of the proposed algorithms. The results show that the proposed technique is pretty feasible for extracting modal parameters from the severely shaking motion pictures.

기존에 H.264를 기본 계층으로 SVC와 MVC를 결합한 스케일러블 다시점 비디오 부호화기를 SVC와 MVC의 DPB를 통합한 통합형 DPB(Decoded Picture Buffer) 설계를 바탕으로 구현하였다. 그러나 구현된 비디오 부호화기로 HD급 이상의 해상도를 갖는 영상을 압축하는데 있어서 효과적인 성능이 나오지 않았다. 이러한 이유로 SHVC와 MV-HEVC의 부호화 구조를 결합하여 고해상도 처리를 위한 스케일러블 다시점 부호화기 설계를 제안한다. 제안된 방법을 통해서 SHVC와 MV-HEVC가 통합된 스케일러블 다시점 비디오 부호화를 효율적으로 구현할 수 있을 것으로 예상한다.

실감형 디스플레이 장치들을 지원하기 위해 다시점 영상을 효율적으로 코딩하는 방법은 다시점 비디오 코딩 방법과 다양한 전송 환경과 다양한 종류의 단말들을 통합적으로 지원할 수 있는 스케일러블 비디오 코딩 방법은 존재하지만, 현재 유비쿼터스 환경에서 실감형 서비스를 지원하면서 동시에 다양한 환경을 지원할 수 있는 통합된 동영상 정보를 생성하는 방법은 존재하지 않는다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 통합된 동영상 정보를 생성하는 다중 확장 비디오 코딩의 개념과 동작에 대해 설명하고 최적의 inter layer 참조 영상 선택 방법에 대해 분석한다.

Currently, the motion picture and game are leading the entertainment industry based on "One Source Multi Use" system, Games and films hold widely the subjects and stories in common, but we seldom find the successful cases, In each case of cinematizing game or making game of a film, the question is "Story Value" the essential of storytelling. This study cross analyzed Story Value of both cases of games based on the films and cinematized games, and propose an compatible Story Value between games and films.
